Faith-Anne & Josh - Chapter 1: Home Sweet Home

Loving My Brother's Best Friend

Faith-Anne & Josh Chapter 1: Home Sweet Home

Faith-Anne

Faith-Anne packed the last box into the bed of her GMC Sierra Classic. The truck had seen better days and was older than father time. Her grandparents bought it the day they found out they were pregnant with her father. Her older brother, Adam didn't want the truck. It had always been her dream and he knew it. So when she turned 16 it was given to her. Adam was two years older than her and definitely not left out. He got a sweet red mustang that was about 5-6 years old. Both of them were the type to take care of their car. It was something their father had raised them up.

The Rushing family were your typical southern family. The father loved hunting and cars, took care of a farm. The mother took care of the kids and owned a cafe. Two perfect children raised to hunt, farm, and cook. They had a kind God fearing family. The type of family that was packed to the brim every weekend with friends and family. That is where Josh came into the picture. He was her brothers best friend. They had basically potty trained together as children. Josh was the quiet brooding type. Both Josh and Adam were known as the players. The type of people who wouldn't be tied down. If only Josh hadn't claimed her heart growing up. He was 6 foot, tanned, hair so dark it might be black handsome with deep brown eyes with muscles that would strain out of his t-shirt.

Faith-Anne now is freshly graduated college student at the fresh age of 25. Her hands tapped the back part of the big blue, hopping into the drivers seat. Big blue, a name that was coined by Adam and Josh. It was a few hours drive back to her hometown. She hadn't made the trip back since she left for college. Faith-Anne got a degree in business and in her free time got a secondary degree in the Culinary Arts of Baking. Her plan had been to open up her own little cafe in the city that reminded her of her moms. It wasn’t a easy plan but, something she had to do for herself.

Faith-Anne's mom had passed away when she was 18. Something broke inside he with that death. It was a night she made a mistake she knew she could never take back. It also was part of the reason she didn't come back home. Everyone assumed the reason why she left was her mom. The real reason was something she was going to take to her grave. The cafe was still up and running by her mother's best friend. A month ago she was informed that she needed to step down in 6 weeks. She knew she needed to make a choice. It just wasn't one she was ready to make. Then last week she got a call from her daddy. Apparently, he wasn't doing the best. She knew it was time to step up and take care of her daddy and take over her mom's cafe.

With the music turned up loud Faith-Anne had her petal to the metal. She had always had speeding problem, she loved driving fast. Her head and body was moving and singing to the music. She knew she had about a twenty minute drive before she made it to her dad's house. A deep breath pushed and pulled through her lungs. Her eyes drifted up seeing blue lights in the headlights. "Fuck..."

Faith-Anne took a second pulling over to the side rolling her window down like you'd crank a gate down. A familiar voice spent shivers down her entire body. Warmth crept through her and flowed through her veins. It pissed her off that he had always had this effect on her. "I'd know big Blue any where." His voice was warm and inviting. A long sigh left her lips as she came eye to eye with Josh. She couldn't fully see him but even what the blue lights highlighted made her tummy flutter. Fuck. "If you know it's me then, why not let me pass" Her voice came off soft with a hint of venom.

Josh

Tonight had been like any other night for Josh. A bit boring and not much going through his mind. He had no one at home so he was picking up an extra shift. Sheriff wasn't an easy job but, it was one that he worked his ass off for. He didn't need someone or something bringing him home. He had a his job, local food, and a best friend he'd go to the bars with on the weekend. A truck that looked a hell of a lot like Big Blue sped by and pang hit his heart. A bit of guilt pinged through his chest as he flipped the lights on.

A little sticker of the Rushing Cafe let him know it was in-fact Big Blue. Fuck. Of course, it would be her. He took a deep breath as he approached the truck giving it a tap for good measure. "I'd know big blue anywhere." He used all of his strength to keep his voice straight. Josh hadn't seen her since the morning after one of his biggest regrets. Her voice took back as it burned deep into him sending a twang of pleasure straight to his cock, "If you know it's me then, why not let me pass?" She sounded just as pissed as if 7 years ago was yesterday. He leaned into the car plastering a grin on his face as he took her in, of course she would be more beautiful than a Goddess.

Josh pushed his voice a little deeper, trying to muster up what strength he had, "Cause lil bear, we both know that wouldn't be fun." He almost coughed a little bit realizing he had used her childhood nickname without a second thought. He knew she hated the name which made a real smile push through. As a child and teen one of his main hobbies had been bickering and getting under the skin of the woman in front of him. His best friend, Adam's little sister. But, nothing about her looked little right now. 7 years had made her age like a fine wine and all he could think about was drinking her up.

Josh let out a groan and cough knowing if he needed to see Faith-Anne on her way. He was going to make another regretful night while risking his job, and chance losing his best friend. "You know what? Never mind. Just be gone with you. I can't write you a ticket or a warning. It wouldn't be very gentleman of me. But, welcome home. I am glad that I was the first person to see you. The first person to welcome you home" He reached his hand in the truck moving a single strand of red hair off her shoulder. The amount of tingles that shot through him. Leaving the truck was one of the hardest things he had to do. It was the last thing he wanted to do. He wanted to lay her down in the tailgate and whisper dirty things in her ear. But, he couldn't loose the only family he ever knew for a good fuck, no a world changing fuck. "be safe little bear" and with that he tailed it to his car closing the door throwing it in drive and speeding off himself.

Josh had missed her to no end.
