Chapter 3

Louis POV

Before a happy face appeared, the window slowly rolled down. My brows widened as I immediately recognized the male.

At my irritation, his smile seemed to grow even more.

"Louis Fredrick," I've always despised the depth and smoothness of his voice. "Do you require assistance?"

"No." I bit out immediately, which only made him laugh.

When the car's rumbling engine silenced, he hopped out and walked around it to me. I had to raise my head to view his face. He appeared to have grown in stature. He was dressed in his customary black jeans and white t-shirt. His military boots were unique, although they appeared to be worn.

"Do you think I've forgotten about you?" Thompson Williams inquired, taking off his aviator glasses to reveal his dark brown eyes.

"I'm afraid I can't say I did, Thompson." When his jaw clenched at the mention of his entire name, I smirked evilly. I tightened my shirt to my chest as the huge man examined me. When Tomy yanked it away and tasked at the gory cuts, it didn't help.

He raised a big hand, each tattooed finger adorned with platinum rings. When his claws extended, I took a deep breath. "It could hurt a little at first, but it'll get better." He cautioned absently before grabbing my arm and burrowing his claw into the little cuts to remove the bits of glass. I sobbed as I stumbled back from the agony.

"What were you thinking?!" I knew he did it to help in the only way Tomy could, in a way that made you regret seeking his assistance. Not that I'm aware of. At the very least, he could have used the first-aid kit!

"It's a healing process." He pointed out, grabbed my arm and pushing me closer so he could wipe the blood away with my shirt. "How did you pull this off?"

"Does it make a difference?"

"Yes."

I raised my eyes to see if he had anything further to say, but it wasn't Thompson Williams.

Thompson Williams supplied just enough to pique your attention while keeping himself a mystery to all but himself.

"I tripped," As I shifted my weight to my left leg, I said.

"What happened to your bike?" I inquired, recalling that he had departed on his favorite motorcycle.

"Wow, that was a long story." He stated that with a grin on his face and a tinge of mischief in his eyes.

"So, you've returned."

"I've returned." He repeated himself, standing aside so I could fetch a clean shirt from the still-open trunk. My side's cuts had already stopped bleeding.

"Did you manage to locate them?" I inquired, really interested.

"Nope." I could see he was trying to be casual, but I could hear the tension in his voice. I bit my lower lip, wanting to speak more but finding myself speechless. What could I possibly say? Sorry? I wasn't.

"Melvin will be overjoyed to meet you." I made the decision to change the subject. "Of certainly, everyone else." I went on to say.

"I texted him earlier, and he was aware that I was on my way." I wrinkled up my face as I struggled to get my head through the hole in my shirt.

Tomy unbuttoned it for me and assisted me in putting it on.

"Oh..." Before glancing up and meeting his brown eyes, I closed the trunk.

"I think you should park."

"All right, let's go in." I raised an eyebrow as Tomy opened the passenger door. With a sigh, I followed his instructions and entered. After I was in the car, he just smirked and shut the door. Even I could see the interior was well-kept because it was all black leather.

"So, what is this?". I inquired as he got into the driver's seat. Being as tall as he is, I was amazed he didn't appear to be uncomfortable.

"This is my baby," He spoke while passionately caressing the steering wheel. I made him chuckle by rolling my eyes. I couldn't help but feel excited as the car roared back to life.

"She's a '69 Chevy Camaro,". Yeah, I had no idea what you were talking about. I only knew it was black with two white lines running down the front hood. Unsurprisingly, it appeared to be a vehicle suitable for Tomy.

I'd known the male for a long time. Not only was Thompson Williams my brother's best friend, but he was also my future Alpha. If all goes well, he'll be my future brother-in-law.

Unlike my brother, who seemed unconcerned about remaining mateless, Tomy left shortly after his seventeenth birthday when he recognized no one in the pack was his Mate. He'd return back for holidays if he was still near to home, but he's been gone for the past three years. It's not like I was keeping track of the days or anything; it's just a reality.

I couldn't help but roll my eyes again as Robby parked far away from other cars so his 'baby' wouldn't get scratched. He finished his bad boy image by reaching into the rear for his black leather jacket. He was the polar opposite of Jason, who never wore black and always kept his clothes clean and ironed. Tomy's hair looked like he'd run his fingers through it a dozen times, whereas Jason's was perfectly done. I was annoyed by the few black strands that hung from his brow, but I chose not to say anything.

"You've grown in stature." As we headed back to the pack house, he said something.

I snorted as I looked down at myself. Since I was about thirteen, I haven't grown one inch.

"Your head used to barely reach my chest, I'm serious. You've almost reached my collarbone." He laughed.

I shoved him, which caused me to fall, and he chuckled at my futile attempt. I grumbled, wishing I had the strength to push him over.

Before we got to the house, Tomy put his spectacles back on. He appeared more serious as well, which I suppose he had to be since he's our future Alpha returning home after three years. If you don't count coming home for the holidays, it's been five years.

When he entered the house and people began to recognize him, they rushed up to him, excitedly talking over each other.

I sneaked away unseen and made my way to the den, where Melvin was waiting. Except for old Mr. Wallis, who had fallen asleep watching the game with his head back and mouth open, the room had cleared out.

Melvin didn't acknowledge me, so I sat on the couch with Mr. Wallis and stared at the television.
