Chapter 2

**** THE WEDDING DAY ****

** Dressing room **

Elena was getting dressed, her mom watched admiringly while Elena was worried.

She was having a second thoughts about the wedding but whenever she looks at her mom and the other people that came to wish her well, she will convince herself that she was making the right choice.

Today is her wedding day, she’s supposed to be happy but sadly she’s not.

“Harrison is a good man, I trust him. You won’t believe me now until you see for yourself.”, her mom said patting her.

“Mom I don’t feel-

“Harrison is waiting in the church, let’s go.”, she said to Elena who reluctantly stood up.

☆▪☆▪☆

“Harrison McCall… Are you willing you take Elena Morgan as your wedded wife till death do you apart?”, the pastor asked at the alter.

Harrison went mute for some time, he only stared at Elena and said nothing.

Elena could see the reluctance on his face, she could see that he didn’t want the marriage too.

“Yes”, he replied icily and everyone clapped happily.

“Elena Morgan … Are you willing to take Harrison McCall as your wedded husband till death do you apart?”, the pastor turned to Elena.

Elena stared at Harrison just like Harrison did. She badly wanted to say no and just run away but it wasn’t possible cos the press were also around and she has no place to run to.

Elena thought of Josh, it was her dream to get married to him but he ruined everything by cheating on her.

In fact he was the person that pushed her into agreeing to the marriage.

“Yes”, she said more like a whisper. Everyone hardly heard but of course, the pastor and Harrison heard.

“You may kiss the bride”, the words Elena didn’t want to ever hear at that moment came resounding in her ears.

She widened her eyes when Harrison pulled her close to himself and placed his lips on hers.

She didn’t kiss him back neither did she pull away, she just prayed for it to end.

All she knew was that they were being recorded by the press and she didn’t want to disappoint her parents.

No one was more happy than Harrison’s mom, it was a dream come true. She hasn’t seen her son for years since he went to Greece and now that he’s back her wish was for him to get married.

She was very happy that Harrison has changed for the better, he was no longer the loner and quiet guy everyone knew, he was now bold and responsible.

“Welcome to being McCall from today Elena.”, Mrs Evelyn(Harrison’s mom) said happily as she hugged Elena who was frowning on the inside.

“This is your husband’s uncle, Ryan McCall”, Mrs Evelyn introduced a huge man, who had black hair but he uses walking stick.

Immediately Elena set her eyes on him, she hated him immediately. Something didn’t feel right.

“He’s the one Harrison stayed with in Greece”, Mrs Evelyn added and Elena faked her smile as if she cared.

“Welcome Mrs Harrison McCall.”, he said with his very deep voice though not friendly.

“Thanks.”, she replied looking away.

His appearance alone is intimidated her.

“let me introduce you to others”, Mrs. Evelyn said holding Elena hand.

Elena looked around and she saw Harrison talking to someone but he was looking very angry.

“Why is he always looking angry? Who is that person? “, she wondered and she looked at her mother-in-law if she noticed them but she didn’t.

Harrison’s mansion

The celebration was finally over and Elena was driven to Harrison’s mansion.

Not only was she sad but scared too of living alone with Harrison.

Elena looked around the mansion, it was huge and it had many security.

“Where are the maids?”, she was forced to ask Harrison who was on his phone.

He wasn’t looking angry as before, he was calm now.

She was wondering if he heard what she asked.

“There are no maids.”, he replied without sparing a glance at her.

“What?”, she exclaimed and Harrison was forced to glance at her.

“I don’t need a maid but if you do let me know.”, he said heading upstairs leaving Elena confused on how he was able to mange the mansion alone.

“There are rules in this house, this is my house and not yours, some rules have to be adhered to strictly”, he said stopping halfway.

“What rules?”

“Don’t touch my things. Respect my privacy, if you don’t want any problems, Don’t touch my phone, don’t enter my room without permission, don’t do anything without informing me, don’t see anyone without my permission, don’t befriend anyone.”

“I will tell you others later”, he said and left.

“This is more like a prison”, Elena complained. This is a different Harrison.”, she muttered.

She checked the kitchen and there was no foodstuff.

She moved to the bar counter but it had all the type of wine.

The mansion had many rooms and she wondered why.

“Where is my room?”, she wondered not knowing where to go.

The way the mansion was so silent was scaring her, she doesn’t like being alone.

She tried opening the doors of the rooms but they were all locked.

She kept trying all the doors until one opened. It was the last door on the right.

She entered and a wow escaped from her mouth.

“Dull colours are his best colours.”, she concluded when she noticed that the room was painted with a dull colour too.

She looked around, the room was tidy and the bed was laid already. She didn’t waste time in climbing on the bed.

She removed her wedding shoes and cloth, it was remaining pant and bra. She didn’t take it off because she was too tired.

She loosened her hair, switch off the light and slept off covering herself with a blanket.

“What are you doing in my room?”, A deep and grumpy voice woke her up.

She was on her way to dreaming already but Harrison’s grumpy voice brought her back.

Seeing that someone was standing, looking at her, she jumped off the bed immediately.

Harrison’s eyes feed on her body and when she noticed why his eyes were fixed on her body, she screamed and ran to remove the blanket to cover her body.

“You are a pervert.”, she shouted pointing at him angrily.

“Did I warn you not to come to my room? You have no right to be here.”, he said coldly.

“I had no idea it was your room and besides you locked all the rooms, you don’t expect me to sleep on the couch.”, she fired.

“Don’t you dare talk to me that way.”, he said.

“Where’s my room then?”, she questioned.

“I don’t know, pick any room of your choice.”, he replied as he laid on the bed.

“What about the key, they are all locked”, she said and he pointed to the shelf where the key was.

She dragged the blanket with her as she struggled to hold her clothes and shoes too.

“He’s just a heartless arrogant prevert”, Elena hissed as she tried the keys for each doors.

She didn’t know which was for which.

“You don’t plan on dragging my blanket all the way to your room, do you?”

“Where is the bathroom? I want to change.”, she asked and he pointed to the bathroom.

After sometime she finally opened one but a room was in between her room and Harrison’s.

Next morning

Harrison woke up and met different varieties of food on the dinning table.

He doesn’t cook, so he doesn’t have food stuffs.

He was surprised. Very surprised.

“I see you have woken up, I ordered them for us but you are going to take a little amount because of what you did to me yesterday”, she said but Harrison just stared at her without a word and that made Elena curious of what he was thinking.

“Dispose every single thing you ordered”, he ordered and Elena gasped.

“Am hungry …... . Are you not hungry?”, she asked.

“You heard me and I don’t repeat myself”, he said icily.

Elena saw the seriousness of his face and she did as she was told.

“This should be your last time to order food, if you need anything just let me know”, he said walking close to her and left.

Elena stood there perplexed, there was no good in the house and then she ordered and Harrison just asked her to dispose it.

She could not understand what just happened but she was sure of one thing.

This wasn’t the former Harrison she was friends with, this is another Harrison she should be afraid of.

Harrison dressed for work and Elena decided to follow him. She didn’t want to stay alone in the house.

Harrison saw Elena touching her stomach and then he stopped at a restaurant.

She ordered for her food but Harrison didn’t. He was just on his phone as usual.

Elena kept uncomfortable since he was waiting for her to finish her food.

She wanted to ask him why he wasn’t eating but she didn’t want to care.

“Let’s go”, he said looking at his wrist watch.

He paid and they left.

Harrison’s company

“Good morning sir”, the tenth person greeted and Harrison ignored it.

Immediately he entered the office, everywhere became silent and Elena understood why it became silent.

They were scared of him. She understood their fears because she was no exception, she is scared of her husband.

“Am pretty sure that the office isn’t a place for useless talks or am I wrong?”, he asked and everyone faced down.

“If I am not wrong, then get back to work before I have all of you fired right away”, he yelled and everyone left.

“Lisa to my office”, he said simply and Lisa wasted no time in following him.

“Will you keep following me like a dog? Find somewhere to go”, he said to Elena and everyone turned to her direction.

She was so embarrassed that she cursed Harrison inwardly.

“Where should I go?”

“Anywhere but not out of this company”, he said more like an order than a request.

The workers kept whispering to themselves.

“Isn’t that the boss wife?”

“I pity her cos she married her worst nightmare”

“I can’t believe that she agreed to married our arrogant boss, maybe it’s because of money”

Elena heard everything they were whispering but she pretended not to hear.

There’s nothing she can do or say to them.

“I see that some of you have another job somewhere else cos if you don’t you wouldn’t be talking about your boss’ wife in that manner”, some one said making Elena turn.

“OMG it’s Jason McCall”, they whispered and Elena stared confused.

“Why is everyone bearing McCall?”, she wondered.

Elena stared at Jason. He was tall, handsome and his hair was styled. The way he walked amazed Elena.

She couldn’t help but to drool like the other girls.

“Could he be related to Harrison?”, she asked no one in particular.

“Apologize immediately “, he said to the girl that insulted Elena.

“Am sorry ma’am “, she apologized.

“Hi am Jason McCall, Harrison’s cousin”, he said smiling as he stretched his hand.

“Oh my gosh he’s so cute”, Elena shouted in her mind.

“Am Elena Morgan. …. I mean McCall”, she said remembering she is married.

“What are you doing here Jason?”, Harrison asked with a frown coming from his office.

“I was unable to attend your wedding so I came to make it up to you”, he replied.

“There’s no need for that, you can leave now”, he said icily.

“I see you don’t want me here, your wife is really beautiful”, he said and Harrison glared at him.

“Thanks”, Elena said blushing.

“I think you are smart enough to know that she’s married and can never be yours”, Harrison said and the smile disappeared from Jason’s face.

“Am sure of the fact that your marriage was an arranged one and it’s a loveless marriage.”, Jason said and everyone gasped.

“I thought you were smart enough to know that either a marriage is based on love or not, you can’t have what you can’t have”, Harrison fired back.

“I am not here for a fight, dad sent me here to sort things out with you. I didn’t want to come but I had to”, he said and Harrison rolled his eyes.

“You don’t have to do what you don’t want to, besides you are no longer a kid. Thanks for showing your face here, you can leave now”, he said coldly.

“I will see you again cousin”, he said and faked a smile but Harrison didn’t bother to fake smile.

It was obvious that Harrison didn’t want him in his office at all, it will be useless to pretend like he was happy.

“Nice meeting you Elena, I will see you soon”, he said and winked at her.

“Come to my office now, we need to talk.”, Harrison said with a calm expression to Elena who just stared at the both of them.

She didn’t understand a thing but she was sure that they don’t get along.

“I pray this isn’t a love triangle”, she heard someone say.
