Chapter 06: Weird Feelings
Bellatrix
Oh shit! Not now Tee.
I raised my eyes cautiously to look at Alec, he frowned at me and then let go of my hand. "Are you going to stare at me all day instead of picking the damn call!," he snapped.
"Oh, sorry.." I stuttered and looked away. Slowly, I pulled out the phone and I would swear my heartbeat rate increased as I saw Tee's name flashing on the screen.
"One minute please" I muttered to Alec and hurriedly walked a good distance away from him before picking the call.
"What? I thought you were all knowing and you should have been aware where was." I snapped immediately I put the phone on my ear.
Tee tsked from the other end of the phone. "You didn't put on the earring Bellatrix" He said.
I scoffed with a roll of my eyes. "There was nothing to hear."
I could almost hear him growl, "you do not want to test my patience Bellatrix"
"Isn't it too early to make threats, Tee?" I smartly replied a deep scowl etched on my face.
"Meet me at Faye's coffee at seven." He stated completely disregarding my statement.
"And if I don't?"
"I'll bet you do not want me to answer that, Bellatrix Fallon" He laughed lightly and as usual without waiting for my reply, the line went dead.
I groaned in frustration, pressing my phone hard between my fingers. I was really starting to hate this shit of a job, I should have rejected it when I could. If only I didn't need answers. Regardless though, I should have known this was a bad idea and now I was starting to have a weird kind of feeling about this Tee guy.
Who is he? And why does he need me spying on the winter pack when he practically knows everything going on the pack without me telling me. It smelled fishy and leaning closer to my conclusion, he didn't want me in winter pack because of information he already has access to, there has to be another reason and I intended to find out.
I sighed, slipping my phone back into my pause. I could sense Alec's presence even before he spoke and I instantly turned back to see him glaring daggers at me. "You said one minute."
I shrugged. "It took longer than that I guess. Sorry. You didn't need to wait for me though, I would have come by myself."
"And do another thing stupid? No. Now enough of your talks and let's go."
"As if you care" I muttered with a scoff and of course he did hear me, thanks to their to stupid advanced hearing.
"I do not care about you Lady, it is my pack I care for and you are not one of us" He retorted icily.
"Then send me out then" I said, pulling open the car door as we had already gotten to the garage.
"It is against our pack rules to send humans out without a tangible reason"
"You could fire me instead." It was stupid coming from me, you would ask why I was telling him to fire me, but for some reasons I was certainly not being myself.
I was starting to have a rethink about spying on Alec and his Pack.. Spying won't even cut out for it because I still didn't even know particularly why Tee wanted me here.
"You looked pretty confident about staying three days ago, now you wanna bolt? You scared of me so soon?" Alec's lip upturned in a smirk as he stared at me, and even as much as I hated him smirking at me, I felt my heart flip a bit at his undisputed gorgeousness.
Fuck my traitorous heart.
"I can never be scared of you, Alpha Alec, I just can't put up with your asshole-ish attitude any longer" I retorted with a smirk of my own gracing my lips.
Alec growled and in a flash he had rounded up the car and was now standing in front of me. The blue flecks in his eyes darken, swirling around like a burning flame. I gasped as I fell back to the seat, Alec pressed his hands to both my sides and lowered himself to look at me.
"You really shouldn't speak like that to a–" He didn't finish his statement as his eyes instantly widened and he shot up instantly, his face going pale.
"Are you okay?" I stood up, stepping closer to him.
"Stay back!" He snapped.
I furrowed my brows in confusion. "What –"
"I said stay the fuck back!" He yelled again causing me to stop on my tracks. He looked away, running his hands through his hair and then finally looked back at me, "can you drive?" He asked, his tone still hard but his eyes speaking a different thing entirely.
Okay what the hell is going on here? Did he not just yell at me some seconds ago? "What?"
"Answer the damn question!" He snapped. Okay we are back to square one now, I see.
"I can."
"Good.." He fished out his keys in his pockets and threw it to me. "Drive home now.. Do not leave the house and don't fucking crash my car."
"Why? I mean why would you suddenly give me your keys to drive home.. I do not understand."
"You don't have to, just do as I say.. And call me if you need anything. Just don't step out of the house until I'm back." With that he whirled around and started walking back to the pack house.
"Alec.. Alec, wait" I called, but he didn't stop even though I knew he heard me. Confused wouldn't describe what I was at that moment.. My head and mind was a cluster of tipsy turvy, I just couldn't grasp Alec's sudden change in behavior. Like what the hell just happened?
I stared at the key on my palm and back at the way Alec just went.. I might hate bad Lycans, but there was one thing I hated the most– being ordered around like a kid, and so I slammed the car door shut and went after Alec. He could do his worse if he wanted, I wasn't going to be fucking told what to do, besides I needed to understand why he acted the way he did.
Entering the pack house, it was not as filled up as it was earlier as people were already going out and most of the few occupants left were women and children. Probably they had all gathered here for a pack meeting or so. I stood there, looking all lost as my eyes scanned the common room. It was one thing to go after Alec and it was one thing to know where he was because he sure as hell wasn't in this room.
"Hey Bellatrix, I thought you left.." I sighted Leila coming my way with a beaming smile, her green eyes twinkling as she got to my front. It was really hard to hold any kind of resentment towards this pack's Lycans with their irresistible beauty.
I returned her smile genuinely. "I was supposed to but Alec suddenly changed his mind."
"He did? Why is that? Did he ask you to wait behind?"
"No actually he gave me his car keys to drive myself home, he was being weird so I came to see if anything is wrong."
Leila narrowed her eyes, her lips parting in what I would call shock because that's what it seemed to be. "Wait, so you mean my brother gave you his car keys? As in to drive his car?" She looked more shocked even than me, increasing my suspicion of whatever it is was going on with Alec.
"He doesn't do that often does he? Giving his car keys to a worker?" I inquired.
"At all is the word, he would not even let me place a finger on it."
"Really?"
Leila nodded her frantically just as she also started grinning widely. "What?" I asked.
"You know, I've always wanted to know what is like to have human friends, though my last meeting with you was more of a rough one seeing as I was really vexed with my brother, so how about we start afresh... You know, we could go out and have some fun, and I will drive. What do you say?"
It took a moment for me to finally understand Leila's motive behind her unpracticed speech, and I so burst into laughter at her cunningness. "Do you really want to drive your brother's car that bad? Seeing as you just cooked up a dramatic sob sob story."
Leila blinked her eyes. "Well, you could say that, but I sincerely wanted an human friend so that would be a bonus." She smiled, flapping her full lashes at me, her green orbs twinkling brightly beneath them.
I hated Lycans, but there could always be an exception right? One Lycan friend won't hurt, would it?. I mirrored Leila's grin and shrugged. "Cool then, shall we?"
"Okay!" She squealed excitedly and held my hands as she dragged me out.
Momentarily, I forgot Alec had asked me to go straight home and stay put till he arrived, and also that Tee had asked to see me by seven.
