THE STORY OF VAMPIRE KING

LAURA

Laura was in her room, listening to the story of the late vampire King and his mate

but her mother.

The story was a terrible one and she wondered why such a thing had to happen to both sides who are destined to be.

"Mom, did this happen or is it a part of your fairytale story? I mean I would perfectly understand if it's just a story with a bad ending."

"I know it's hard to accept, but trust me, this is as real as it can be."

"Wait, you mean this happened to the vampire King and his mate?"

"Exactly, Laura. Though we are vampires, we go through tragedy as well, just like the werewolves."

For some reason, Laura felt terrible knowing the story was real."

"You said he got married even though he died from missing his mate, right mom?"

"Yes, he got married to another and they had a son."

"Hmm, so if the king is dead, does this mean the one ruling the kingdom now is his son?"

"Exactly. The one ruling the King now is called King Derek."

"King Derek..." Laura repeated after her mom. The name sounds interesting and she liked the sound of his name on her lips.

Her mother smiled at her when she pronounced the King's name.

"Do you think Derek is like his father?"

"In what aspect, you mean?"

"Is he nice and passionate like his dad?"

"Hell no!"

Laura felt somewhat disappointed with her mother's response.

"What do you mean mom?"

"Well, I haven't seen this King before, and neither do I know him. But from what I heard about him, he's a force not to be reckoned with."

Laura heaved a long sigh. If her mom was right, this means the king must be brutal.

"I see, so he's a brutal king."

"Brutal is the nicest word I've ever heard, compared to what the king stands for and things he's done."

Laura quickly sat up straight on her bed. She needed to know more about this king or whatever he was. Sooner or later, she would lead the kingdom according to her father. And since she is a hybrid, there was no way she would sit back and watch both kinds fight themselves for eternity. At least there should be a difference in her time.

"The white king, as the werewolves know him to be, is not just brutal, he was cruel even to his kind. One time, I heard he gave out an order for no one to leave their territory, but a woman and her child who didn't hear about the order went out, and guess what?"

Laura went wide, for what her mom was going to say next.

"What happened after that mom?"

"I heard king Derek imprisoned the woman and feasted on her child's blood."

"Arrrrrrgh!" Laura screamed out loud in fright.

She shook her head just imagining what the vampire king might look like. He must look like some monster with red eyes, a monstrous-looking face and an extremely large fang.

She wondered how those under his rule will survive. It must be hard to be ruled by such a cruel King."

"I know what you are thinking my dear. Though I haven't seen him, I don't know the kind of appearance he had now. But all I know is that he might be scary to look at, not to talk about having some peace talk with him."

"Peace talk doesn't work with a beast, right? Because all he would be thinking about was how to make the person his prey.

"You are right, Laura, that is why you must beware of the Vampire King."

Laura shivered to listen to her mother's advice. She can't imagine ever being face-to-face with such a cruel king.

She hadn't seen him before and she prayed their parts never crossed.

He gave the werewolves anyway. That is why the enmity had refused to come to an end. But on a second note, there was no way she would be able to break off the enmity of both kinds if she was still fearful.

Laura was confused. She wished she knew what to do to bring eternal peace. Perhaps peace would only come after the death of the king.

Laura shook her head again. She can't be wishing death upon him. Rather she should pray for him to have a change of heart. It is next to impossible to get rid of someone like King Derek.

Hell no, it's better not to stress her tiny little brain for a king she might never meet in her life unless she wished to go all out for peace to reign between both Kingdoms.

Then again, it would even get worse for her since they hated her from the beginning. She was known to be the daughter of a demon who was going to destroy the world. It was saddening because nobody saw her as the innocent little girl she was, she just wanted to be loved by all.

She wasn't a monster, and she wished everyone around her would see her for how kind she was and not judge her to become what she isn't. It is quite painful to know that some will never appreciate her no matter what she does.

NEXT DAY.......

Laura had to do form training again. And unfortunately for her this time, the person in charge of training them was no other than Xander.

Knowing Xander was the one who will be training them, get Laura shivering in fright.

Honestly, she hated training from the very beginning. And then, knowing Xander will be the one in charge knocked her off.

"Hello everyone, today, I will be your coach, so if you've ever trained under me before then you will understand that I don't joke with training. Those who are slow to learn will be dealt with terribly!" Xander warned sternly.

Laura's heart sank at his statement. She knew she was in big trouble as it is.
