THE NIGHTMARE

LAURA

"It's okay Laura, Xander has left." Of all the people in the palace, the only person who scares her most was Xander. She had no idea why she felt that way, but there was something off about Xander that she could as well describe as evil. He had an evil aura around him, but she could not really tell what that was.

"Are you okay, Laura?"

"Yes, I'm fine."

"Don't listen to Xander, you know he is just being bitter for no good reason. You shouldn't let anything he says scare you. I mean we all know he was the greatest bully. "

"Erica?"

"Yes, princess."

"I don't think we should take Xander lightly. I was scared that he might mean every word he said.

"Trust me, Laura, there's nothing to be afraid of. So long as I'm concerned and the city of Acrinide is concerned Xander will never be able to hurt you. "

Laura nodded at Eric, she tried to make her friend believe she understood just everything which she had just said. But to be honest, Laura was terribly scared. The more she wanted to make herself believe that everything was fine, she couldn't help feeling really worried.

Laura saw Xander in the palace on her father's anniversary. When he saw her, he gave her a weird look that sent shivers down her spine. Seeing him in that manner, she could tell that he had a bad motive.

Just then, he began approaching her. Immediately, Laura took to her heels, but it seemed like the more she ran, the closer he got to her.

Laura's heartbeat pounded erratically. She had the feeling that if he caught up with her he wouldn't go easy on her. But the fact that she couldn't walk faster no matter how hard she tried to, made her worried. What if he caught up to her?

Just as she was thinking of the possibility, a pair of heavy hands grabbed her by the shoulders.

"Where the fuck do you think you are running off to Huh? You think you can just run away as you please, huh?"

Laura tried hard to shake Xander's hands off.

"Please let me go, Xander, please?"

"I will never do that, come with me!" Xander dragged her with him. Laura tried to set herself free from his tight grip, but she wasn't strong enough to fight off Xander yet.

"Let me go! I said let me go!" But Xander successfully pulled her into the gathering where important guests were all making merry. Her father sat on the throne, with his mother by his side.

"Your Majesty, I want you to grant my marriage to your daughter today."

Laura went wide in shock, she could not believe her ears.

"What? Did you find my daughter as your mate?"

"Yes, oh King?"

"Liar! I'm not his mate!" Laura screamed, which brought about bitter chaos in the palace.

"How dare you deceive your king when my daughter never married you!"

"She will be married, sooner than later," he gave her a wicked smirk. Laura shook her head in disbelief.

"Guards, take down the unfaithful beta's son!" Laura turned her gaze over to her father, and in her presence, beta Reynolds, pierced her dad's throat with his claws, and her mother stabbed that Beru infant. The best thing Laura saw was a pool of blood on the throne.

"No!!!" She yelled so loudly but jolted awake to reality.

Laura's breathing was heavy and it hitched. She was sweating profusely. It was a dream, a nightmare. A talk my nightmare.

Laura's hands shook, as she recalled the nightmare she had minutes ago. It felt so real and so scary. It can't be that Xander and his father are plotting against the king's anniversary.

She needed to tell her mom about her dream. Another was the day of the anniversary, and she had such a dream, not quite long after. What could the dream be all about? The more Laura thought about her nightmare, the more confused she became.

Laura was so scared of what might really be the outcome of the anniversary. This was her first time dreaming about a recent time.

She quickly got down from her bed and scurried off to her mother's chambers.

The moment Laura got to her mother's chambers, she saw how busy her maids were so early.

"Darling, you shouldn't be here. You need to start getting prepared," her mother scurried over to her side, holding her by the hands.

"Mom, you have to listen to me, I have something important I wish to tell you. Please, you have to listen to me."

"Come on my love, we don't have time for that yet. We have to get you prepared. I want you to look the prettiest at the party...

"Mom, I know I have to get prepared, but you've got to hear me out, please Mom."

"Kate, you need to attend to the princess now."

Kate and some other maids untied up for her to take her back to her room to get her prepared for the celebration.

Laura was so confused. Nobody wants to listen to her. The only person that could really tell her what to do had totally ignored her. There was no initial turn to.

Laura watched her mom get busy with the servants and maids in the palace. It was heartbreaking. She thought her mom would actually hear her out, but she was mistaken. Her mom only cared about the party now. What was she to do at a time like this? It was heartbreaking being in that kind of situation.

Laura had no choice but to follow the maids back to her room, where she would be dressed up.

While on her way to her room, she took a glance at the throne from the other side of the hall where she saw her parents in their pool of blood.

Laura immediately shook her head, not wanting to believe what she saw. She believed that would never happen to her parents.
