The council

Once he was left alone with her, he scooped her up from the cold grounds leading her to his room, he got the attention of the healthcare specialist to tend to her and treat her wounds, as the physician wrapped her hands in bandage, she creased her brow in her sleep tilting her head sideways but not waking up.

"It would seem she is traumatized" The physician chipped in as he tended to her.

"..but truly I'm surprised, the Alpha has a woman in his house" the physician laughed a bit.

"It seems she is important to you Ian" the old physician addressed him casually but he did not respond.

"Do you have any idea what her trauma could be?" Ian asked coldly, he hated her but he did not want to trigger anything that could kill her, the old physician laughed.

"If only I were in her head" He said leaving Ian to wonder what it could be.

"But if I may ask who is this person who has bothered the Alpha so greatly?"

"She's nobody to me, no one has the power to bother me, my compassion to her is the same I'd show to anyone, to anything, even to the dog I find on the streets" Ian replied, he hated Diane regardless whatever she meant to him.

"Only that you don't go on the streets" The physician replied.

"In due time you will be asked to get married again, please I hope you don't threaten to put a dagger in our hearts this time, after all no king is a king without his people" the old physician said bringing about a tensed air between them, the physician was a member of the Council, the head at that. It was he who announced Ian the successor of his father.

"Mr Henry" Ian said.

"Your father was not a stubborn leader, he married according to the councils will and that brought about you didn't it?" Mr Henry asked in his thick command like voice.

"Ahh.." Ian replied as if he had just realized something.

"..so this is all your fault Mr Henry" he deadpanned, his eyes shimmering with anger.

"I have had enough of your disrespect young man" he said angrily.

"Oh Grandfather" Ian mocked as if he was trying to correct his former statement.

Henry was Ian's grandfather from his maternal side, a power drunk man and the head of the council, he practiced health care mainly for fun.

"And do you have another woman you wish to sell to me?" Ian asked insinuating that he sold his daughter into the Alpha's family.

"How much will I have to offer you? Is there a discount for being your grandson?" He asked at the verge of getting angry.

"Ian!!" The old man cautioned angrily.

"Grandfather!" He too cautioned.

"You do not speak to me in such manner" Ian said as something indescribable flashed in his eyes.

" I am the Alpha of this pack, I am it's king" he said in a high voice that showed rulership.

"I'm sorry for your mother Ian" Mr Henry said in defeat.

"No, you are not, not when you could have done something to help it" Ian replied as the tears slowly gathered in his eyes, he always got this way whenever he talked about his mother, or thought about her in fact.

"If you are done with the woman leave" he said turning towards the closet.

"You do not have to go by the council choice, just pick a woman amongst the ladies in this land and bring her as your Luna before the council" he said calmly still trying to persuade Ian.

"Leave"

"You have to continue this bloodline of grace Ian that was your Father's utmost priority" Mr Henry said.

"His utmost priority? Is that why he did not touch my mother after their wedding night?" Ian asked.

"She begged you Grandfather and you just let your child go" his anger was evident in his hoarse voice.

"Why? Because of the strength of this bloodline?" He asked.

"This bloodline will die with me being the last and the strongest of it" Ian promised him.

"This time it will be your turn to beg me and it will be my turn to turn my back on you Grandfather, that small child that you turned away will be a major blow in your face, that child has grown into this monster. Here look at him" he said as he rose his finger to point at himself.

"Prepare the next bloodline to take over the Alpha title, if you live long enough to do that" Ian said as he turned his back and moved towards the bathroom direction.

Mr Henry left shortly after checking on the girl.

Diane eyes fluttered open, she looked around the unfamiliar walls, the pungent smell of drugs mixed with men cologne and sweat attacked her nostrils, she was in his room, but what the hell was she doing there. For a second she had forgotten her fears as she dived into her thoughts wondering why she was in his room.

A little flash of something and she remembered, she had fainted after constantly banging on the huge iron doors that wouldn't budge, it seemed to her as if someone had found her and brought her to his room, but of all places why his room? She sat up,slowly combing her hair with her hands, she could feel a huge amount of friction between her hand and her head causing her to turn her attention to her hands, they were bandaged with little trails of blood on them.

Exactly how long had she been out?

She wanted to run away but she knew she couldn't get far.

The bathroom doors open and a soaked gracious figure walked out, his platinum hair divided into strands as he shaked his head to get the liquid out of his hair. His muscles was dripping water as he walked out with only a towel wrapped around his six-packed abs.

She wanted to go back to sleep, she had never seen a man this vulnerable before.

He turned to face her.

'Oh shit' her head person thought.

His face was as cold as ever, ever colder than the air that followed him as he walked towards the bed.

Her heart skipped a beat, no many beats, she held onto her breath for what would come next.
