Chapter 15| Perfect Day
When I finally reached the backyard, I saw her siblings happily bathing in the well. Maymay was riding in a large basin while Kokoy was busy pumping the well to fill Maymay's basin.
I approached their direction.
"Big brother, keep pumping the well!" Maymay said happily while watching the water coming out.
"Sir Clark!" Kokoy called suddenly when he saw me. He stopped from what he was doing and smiled in my direction. Maymay immediately shifted her gaze to me.
"Sir Clark!!!" Maymay exclaimed excitedly. She was about to stand up in her seat when I stopped her. I volunteered that I was the one who would approach them.
When I got closer, I bent one knee to make eye contact with her.
"What are you two doing, huh?" I asked while smiling.
"Swimming!!!" Maymay happily respond with a giggle. She even covered her mouth while chuckling. Kokoy shook his head at what his little sister said.
"Swimming?" I asked curiously and stood up straight.
Swimming? In a large basin?
I asked in the back of my mind.
Maymay nodded as a response. I fantastically looked at her face. I smiled at their innocence. They deserved to feel something special. I need to do something about this.
"Sir Clark, join us..." Maymay finally stood up and pulled me towards the basin.
"Wait! Angela wanted me to call both of you. We will eat lunch."
Maymay let go of my arm.
"Okay," Maymay responded and pouted her lips.
I laughed and held her hand.
"Do you want to swim in a big pool? Together with me, your big sister Angela and brother Kokoy?" I asked the toddler. Her eyes lit up at what she heard.
"Yes! Yes! Auntie Bel will come too!" she answered immediately and nodded with a big smile. I shifted my gaze to Kokoy who was now smiling too. As if he was saying he also liked the idea.
"Okay, little angel. I will tell your big sister that we will be swimming in a big pool in my house," I announced happily. The two jumped because of joy. They ran hurriedly inside the house to tell the good news to their big sister.
When I went inside the house, I saw Bel sitting next to Angela in the kitchen. The two kids approached their sister and announced what I had said a while ago.
"Really?" Angela uttered while smiling.
"Yes, sister!!!!" Maymay excitedly responded.
Angela looked in my direction and she mouthed 'thank you' without a voice. I just nodded to her and smiled.
"Alright. The two of you, get dressed. We are going to eat," Angela commanded the two kids. They immediately complied.
"Clark, come here. Take a seat," Angela invited me and arranged my seat. I sat next to her while Bel was on the left side of Angela.
Later, the two kids arrived.
"Wow, big sister! There is so much food!" Maymay and Kokoy exclaimed in unison as their eyes seemed shining from what they saw.
Grilled chicken, ice cream, chocolates and drinks.
Angela and I both smiled while watching their reactions.
We prayed first and after that, we started eating lunch together.
After an hour of bonding with them, I badly need to leave. I still wanted to stay but I couldn't. My secretary called and said I have meetings with investors in our new branch. I couldn't cancel that meeting because it's quite important to be done as soon as possible.
"Children, say goodbye to Sir Clark and say thank you," Angela said to her siblings.
"Thank you, Sir Clark," Kokoy, who sat on the ground while playing with a car toy bid his goodbye and waved his hand.
I nodded at him and smiled.
Maymay ran in my direction. She was coming from the kitchen.
"Thank you, Sir Clark! Be careful while driving," Maymay said and hugged my waist. She showed her sweet smile, exposing her incomplete teeth.
"You are welcome, honey," I responded and pinched her cheek that made her chuckle. I kissed her cheek too, which made her skin turn red like ripe tomatoes.
I chuckled slightly.
She shyly ran away from me and sat next to her brother.
"Thank you."
I shifted my gaze and turned my back when I heard someone thanking me. I was a bit surprised after I found out it was Bel. She smiled a little at me.
I nodded and smiled too.
It was good to know she knew how to say thank you even if we had a silent fight.
"Thank you, Clark," I shifted my gaze back to Angela. I saw her smile as she led me to the car.
"You're always welcome to me, Angela. No worries," I said. I stopped walking when I was in front of my car.
I immediately took her hand and pulled her closer to me then gave her a peck on her lips which surprised her.
She blinked her eyes a couple of times and unaware touched her lips. Looked like she was completely shocked at what happened. Afterwards, her face turned red like ripe tomatoes. I laughed softly at what I saw.
"Be careful when driving," she said shyly and put her baby hair at the back of her ear. She bowed a little. She couldn't make eye contact with me due to shyness.
"Aye aye, Captain!" I replied smiling and gave her a salute which made her chuckle.
I finally entered the car and fastened my seatbelt. I blew the horn first and glanced at her once again through the open window before closing and driving away from their home.
My day today is almost perfect because of her. The feeling that I could make her siblings happy with other things such as the food I bought is so amazing. And what made me happier is to see the smile decorated to the face of the person I love the most.
"Angela..." I whispered as I drove towards the company.
