Chapter 16| The Show

Clark's POV

“So, we have a deal?"

"Not so fast, Mr. Clarkson. You knew what I wanted and you haven't done that yet," Mr. Sy replied.

Am I stupid? I know what he means.

I put my two hands on the table and intertwined it. I moved closer to him and stared him intently in the eye.

"But you already knew my answer, Mr. Sy and I will never change my mind about that. To be honest, I can run the company without your money," I answered bluntly and leaned back in my seat. I didn't care if my mom gets angry if Mr. Sy pulls out his investment in our car company because of this.

"Oh! Okay, Mr. Clarkson. What an arrogant of you. Let's see," he said while smirking.

Is he scaring me? Well, I'm not threatened.

He glanced at his wristwatch and stood up. "By the way, I gotta go."

"Better be," I replied sparingly, which made him glance at me once more. He gave me a playful smile on his face before finally leaving my office.

I tiredly close my eyes and massage my temple because of the stress I've felt. I also looked at the wristwatch I was wearing just to find out it's already eight forty-five in the evening. My employees have probably gone home.

Oh! My secretary! Is she not going home yet?

I asked myself as I quickly pressed the intercom to confirm.

"Secretary Linda?" I called.

"Yes, sir?"

"You may now go home," I answered sparingly.

"Thank you, Sir."

When the conversation was over, I got up from my seat and arranged my belongings then went outside the office. I went to my car and fastened my seatbelt but I didn't turn on the car's engine. I didn't want to go home yet. I was not ready to see my mom. I think what Mr. Sy and I talked about earlier has already reached her.

I breathed heavily and sigh.

Where am I going now? To Angela's place?

I suggested it at the back of my mind.

But, it was already night. I might bother them. Maymay and Kokoy were surely already asleep right now because they have to attend school tomorrow.

"Come what may. . .." I whispered in the air and started the car's engine.

Just a few hours later, I couldn't figure out why I had just found myself at the side of the road of the entertainment club. I didn't know why I stopped the car here.

I shook my head several times just to lose the wonder that now envelops my entire system.

I was about to start the car but I stopped when there was an urge in me to get inside the club.

I closed my eyes tightly and breathed deeply before I sigh. I eventually removed my seatbelt and got out of the car. I finally walked inside the entertainment club.

Angela's POV

"Are you sure about this?"

"Yes, Bel."

"Can you do this? Are you feeling well already?" Bel asked me while holding both of my hands. There was a hint of concern in her voice.

I'm not feeling sick anymore. I got the flu last week so I couldn't go to work this past few weeks and now, I decided to come back to the entertainment house.

"Okay, alright. Just tell me when you can't or you want to go home. I'm the one who will accept our boss's outburst in case you go home early," she said and kissed me on my forehead.

I smiled at Bel's sweet gestures. I felt love by her as well as from Clark.

I'm lucky to have met her and what's even better is that we're best friends.

"Alright. Let's go?" she asked.

I just smiled a little and drifted off to her.

"Waaaah! Angela! It's good that you're here sister! The crowd was always looking for you in the past few weeks!" Sir Kenny exclaimed when he saw me inside the entertainment house. He hugged me and kissed my cheek.

"Come on! Change your clothes. I'll just announce on the stage you're here. The customers will definitely be going insane again. You're really beautiful and hot Angela!" he said happily and left. After that, I went to the dressing room to change my outfit.

"Psss! Why did that slut come back?! F*ck!"

"What a slut!"

"Maybe she can't take the itch anymore."

Those were whispers of my colleagues here in the dressing room. The stare they threw at me was sharp.

If looks could kill, I am a dead meat now. I could do nothing but keep quiet here.

"Hey, Angela! Hurry up! You have your dance number. Chop! Chop!" Sir Kenny shouted so I quickly put on my mask on my face and went to the stage.

I was behind the large and red curtain that was covering me to complete the show. I could hear the shouts and screams of the customers and VIP at the entertainment club. You could hear in their voices that they seem so eager to see a prostitute like me.

The curtain has finally fallen, at the same time the dazzling light focuses on my direction as the melodious but enticing kind of music plays. Suddenly, the light went off and was replaced by colorful lights.

I glanced around.

Men drinking alcohol, smokers next door, there were women on the table who were almost naked and customers lying on the floor in a state of intoxication. I secretly swallowed because of the view.

They were still shouting.

I breathed deeply before starting to shake my body.

"Shit! We missed you, Magda!!!"

"You're mine now! I'll pay a lot!"

"My fcking hormones, sht! Shake it off Magda!"

I could see in their eyes the admiration for my inherent beauty and charm. I felt like I'm a famous television actress that everyone is obsessed with, like pizza that will never be rejected when laid on the table, like wine and beers that can almost replace the water if swallowed, like a bad drug that when once you use, you will never stop using it and like a potion that once you have been subjected under its magic, you will never be able to escape anymore.

But, the amazement they showed was mixed with lewdness. I would like to rejoice because someone appreciates my physical beauty but, who would be happy if every admiration had a malicious agenda?

I didn't realize the time that the music was over. My mind was too occupied with things about my miserable state in society.

When the light turned on again, they threw papers with associated value in front of me. A staff member of the club immediately approached my direction and picked it all up as I hurriedly left the stage.

And here we go again, the way my colleagues look at me didn’t change.

I was currently getting dressed when Sir Kenny suddenly appeared behind me.

"Angela, you have a client," he announced.

"In the VIP. Hurry up!" he spoke playfully and left.

What else is new?

I asked myself and started walking, heading to the VIP room.
