CHAPTER 7

She just wanted to meet her daughter, whether she was alive or dead. Having her plead like that with a weak body the elders quickly made her stand up so that they may investigate further into the story.

“The first thing we should do is to call that Jackson fella here so that he may answer some of the questions that we have. I believe that Jackson may have some clues for us,” Marcel finally spoke after being quiet for a while.

When Darcie heard her father speaking, she was relieved, this meant that her baby’s issue will be solved. It was only a matter of time before she has the answers that she seeks.

On the other side in Falcon a group of men were busy conversing while having some drinks at a private club. The gathering can be considered to be a birthday party for one of the friends who had just turned forty.

The birthday person happens to be Jackson Saunders who didn’t seem to be fazed by anything. Their room was filled with laughter from the numerous girls that were rubbing their bodies on anyone who is male.

However, among this group of males one of them didn’t allow any single female to be close to him. According to him, he said that he was getting married and his fiancé was very jealous that she will set him on fire if she ever found out that he had been playing with girls.

“Hahahaha, Keaton I never thought that this day will come. Congratulations!”

“Yes, yes, congrats. So, when we will be meeting our sis in law?”

“Just wait for a bit and I will bring her to meet you all soon,” Keaton spoke in a lazy tone but they could all hear that the man was happy when it comes to this fiancé of his.

“Which family is she from?”

“How about her age?”

“And her looks?”

These men who were fictious made him want to kick them in the legs.

“Normal family, eighteen and she is good.”

The answers they all wanted came in one reply and all of them looked at the other with shock.

They thought that the man will find himself a younger woman but a teenager, wasn’t there something wrong with this logic?

“Man, is your woman if legal age?” Jackson finally asked.

“She will be soon, all I have to do is wait till her birthday and all will be well,” Keaton said as if it was a normal thing.

Everyone in the room couldn’t help but toast to their friend, to be able to snatch such a fresh piece of meat for himself was truly invigorating.

“Do you love her?” the question was full of emotion and Keaton was a it taken back by thee question. Jackson was not a sentimental person so he just got really shocked.

“I have never wanted someone so bad like this, I have waited for many years for this moment. This is not some kind of obsession but I love her,” he replied firmly to Jackson’s question.

“Then treat her well, I don’t know if she is alive or if she is dead,” Jackson gulped down his scotch.

The room became very quiet after Jackson made that remark. Jackson may be one of the oldest in the room but Keaton knew very well the story of Jackson. He fell in love with an unknown girl in Jade city and the two were head over heels for each other.

Before they could have a family together, see his own child, his woman disappeared leaving a house burnt to the ground. He never found his woman ever again and no sign of the child. He searched for hospitals, the nearby towns and villages and he couldn’t find her.

It’s been eighteen years and the man is still stuck on his love. The group of friends knows that his marriage with his current wife is just a sham with no love. The man may have conceived children with his wife but this was just another arrangement that the families made.

This was a marriage that he wanted to escape but before he could do that his woman disappeared. He was totally one unlucky man.

“If you find her one day, what will you do?”

“Lock her somewhere she will never leave me again,” the response was quick and serious.

The guys laughed but not with ridicule, they just find the suggestion to be something that they were very capable of. They also wanted to lock some of their favorite lassies away so that no other man may look at them.

“If I dare lock her up, she will simply commit arson,” Keaton said with a showing off tone.

What was wrong with this dude?

“Arson, man! You must be joking right?”

“If I restrict her freedom, she will go nuts. I would rather see her being wild and free. But it’s good that you think that way, what will happen to the woman of the house?”

“We are divorced already; the elders aren’t aware of that yet.”

Hearing this bomb being dropped on their heads, they didn’t know what to do but Keaton could only applaud that he was decisive even though he woke up a bit late.

If it was him, Keaton would have never married that woman in the first place. He didn’t want to be with someone he felt nothing for even if it was for the sake of the clan.

He will never betray his heart for something like that but he understands that families were different from his so it made a bit of sense. The Saunders rely on connections that comes from marriages and business alliances.

“Let’s drink to that then, I believe that one day you will find them. She may be waiting for you to come and pick her now,” one of the guys said.

The guys then left the depressing story and began to talk about something much more interesting.

While they were busy talking, Jackson received a call from an unknown number and he didn’t pick up but after the caller remained persistent, he went outside to pick up the call.

When he answered the call, the voice on the other side of the phone made his heart race.

“Y-you are alive! Where are you?” his voice was shaking, he didn’t know exactly what he was feeling but it felt so damn great.

“It’s time we meet and have a talk,” Darcie spoke seriously on the other side but he could hear her shakiness.

“Where should we meet?”

“I will send you the address, come as soon as possible. It’s about our child,” with that the call ended and thirty seconds later a text came in.
