CHAPTER 9

Her son kept avoiding Talia so she had to threaten him so that he could spend some time with her. If left alone for too long, she didn’t know what the end would be like.

She left her hall and went to where her husband and king were.

“Did the Priestess left?”

“Yes, she did.”

“So, it’s finally happening?”

“Yes, it is.”

“For the first time our son did something good.”

“Yes, he did. Do you think we should tell him?”

“No, we mustn’t. They should be able to talk it out themselves. Let us not interfere and let the kids settle this among themselves.”

“That is true my love. Let’s wait and see where it will lead us. I have to take the beads out now. You should rest early; it will be a very long day tomorrow.”

“It will be. It’s been so long since we had a huge event like this.”

“It is. I can’t believe our baby is finally getting married and soon I will be holding my grandchild.”

“My Queen, you already have three more grandchildren,” her husband mocked her and she laughed.

“It’s different; I wonder what he will be like when he becomes a father.”

“As long he won’t be like the way he is now then I will be fine with anything.”

“I will end up fighting with you if I remain here but you spoke the truth. I will come after I take the beads from the safe.”

“I will be waiting for you,” he said and kissed her on the cheek.

She smiled and left her husband and headed for the safe room. The security opened the door and she got inside. The room was filled with all kinds of treasures. She found the beads she wanted and carefully removed them and put them in a small box. She left the room and returned back to her husband.

“They don’t work with me,” she said very disappointed.

“You are a Queen and not a seer, so it will never work.”

“I will see how it does work though when she touches them.”

“I will look forward to it then. Let’s go to bed now, I don’t want you to look tired on such a special day,” he said and pulled her to the bed.

She giggled and knew that her husband was still the naughty man she had married many decades ago. She loved him and she wishes happiness for her Neal too.

She had been awake for hours and she was still not yet done with her makeup and fully dressed. Why must she wear so many layers of clothes for just a wedding?

She had seen two royal weddings on TV before but she never thought they wore like this. She was having two wedding ceremonies; the first would be traditional and the last one would be like any other weddings.

For her traditional wedding she was wearing a red gown inside fully embroidered with gold threads, it didn’t have any sleeves but was more of a boob tube gown.

It was beautiful and yet she couldn’t parade herself wearing only that. She had to put a white robe on top, which was very long that it swept the floor. She loved what they did to the robe she wore on the outside.

The royal embroidery department in charge of making the clothes had put a lot of effort to embroider her favorite peony flowers on it. The flowers just kept on going as if it was a blooming garden.

The white robe was tied with a golden clamp in the front and still shows the red gown that she wore inside. She chose the two colors; others would choose their own as long it was traditional in the end.

The maids put on a flower headdress on her head to compensate for the crown she would wear later. Her head was already heavy with the hairstyle that they had made on her. At least the shoes were not that high or else she was going to faint or fall.

She looked at herself and she felt happy. She might not have the love of her husband to be but she was the happiest girl in the whole of Qarth at the moment.

They had drawn a red flower on her forehead to complete the whole dressing. She was now ready to go and didn’t feel hungry at all. Why would she eat when she was like this?

“Your highness, it’s time to leave now,” Jane said as she showed up in her room.

“I’m ready, we can go,” she said.

Since it was a royal wedding, the people were already in the streets wishing her happiness and she wondered how many of them meant it especially when they used to attack her on the media.

Jane put the white veil over her had so that her face would be covered and escorted her outside where the horse chariot was waiting for her.

For the traditional wedding she didn’t have to move in a car but in the chariot and let the whole world see her, escort her to the hall where she will make her vows with Neal and become his wife.

She was in the carriage and she had gads riding on horseback by her side protecting her all the way. The roads were closed, and the people were standing at the road sides throwing flowers and rice as a way of congratulating.

If she had known that one day, she was going to love like this then she would have been a better granddaughter to her nana.

It was a long way to the hall from the palace and since her face was covered with the veil no one would see her. She touched the ring that Neal put on her that day and it began again.
