CHAPTER 3
After another month she was promoted and became an assistant to other secretaries. Somehow Haven’s assistant got fired and she was given the job and knew just how much tiring the job was. Now she understood why she had to work in the club first.
Gina arrived at the club, gave the valet her car before she entered the club and went to Haven’s usual spot. She had fifteen more minutes to spare before her boss arrives.
Haven owns the club which was always full every day. Sometimes she felt bad about how the business was being run but one has to be ruthless sometimes. She leant that the hard way.
Two months after she started working for Haven as her assistant she got attacked, it was the scariest moment of her life ever. She thought she was going to die but she saw a very familiar face.
She had seen the girl in the club mostly dancing sometimes so seeing her outside and when she was in danger was very surprising. Gina watched as the dancer slashed the man who was holding her with a dagger. It was the first time she witnessed someone being ruthlessly killed like that.
There were no police and the body vanished. Because she was scared for her life she bought a gun and Haven still found out. In the end Haven made her get defense lessons where she didn’t train really but ended up being soldier.
She was now capable of defending herself from anything; which was also the reason why she kept her small pushing daggers with her everywhere she goes.
“What should I bring you?” a bartender asked her.
“Just some water,” she said.
Drinking at the job was something she vowed never to do especially after she embarrassed herself in front of everyone and couldn’t get her job done.
It didn’t take long before her glass of water came and she took a sip and put the glass down.
“Please bring the usual whisky, she will be here any minute,” Gina told the bartender.
She watched as the bartender hurriedly left and came back a few minutes later with Haven’s drink. All she was doing now was to wait for her boss to arrive and listen to what was on her mind.
She has everything and she did everything for him so why was he so cruel that he just had to cheat on her with that other girl? She spent a week without going to school because she couldn’t stand seeing those two at all.
She thought she was her best friend and yet she betrayed her like that. One way or the other she was going to get her revenge and make them pay for what they did to her.
So in order to ease her mind she got into her Porsche her dad bought her for her eighteenth birthday and drove off. She was planning on going clubbing but she decided to take a drive on the freeway. She was driving as fast as she could when a motorcycle just passed her as if she was in motion. How was that even possible?
Her car was fast so how did that motorcycle pass her like that? She began to feel very competitive that she stepped on her gear and began to follow the motorcycle but still she couldn’t catch it; instead another car came out in the front and she lost her foot making the car to sway in the road.
The only thing she did was cry out loud for help. She wasn’t going to die especially when she was just young like this. Somehow the car toppled down and she was now looking down and there were some sparks now. Was she just going to burn down and be left with no body to bury?
She began to hit the windshield with her fists but it wasn’t falling off at all. The seatbelt was so hooked that for the first time it refused to come out. Was this her fate? Just to die because she couldn’t admit defeat?
She watched as the other car was also in the same position like hers but lucky for the passengers, one was out and was helping the others to get out. She was the unlucky one.
She heard the sound of that motorcycle again and watched as it came and stopped just some few meters away from her car. She was now curious about the driver. What kind of a hot man was he?
Was he going to be her knight in shining armor and save her from this? Her knight removed the helmet and all hell broke loose. It was a woman all this time and young on top of that. All her expectations went low and she knew she was going to die since the fumes were starting to rise.
She was shocked when she saw how fearless the rider walked towards her car and smashed her window open before she fought with the seatbelt for a minute or so and she was free. She was one very strong woman. After being set free, Amber found herself being carefully scooped away from the car. The stranger carried her with care to a safe distance before she walked towards the other car and gave help.
She was busy helping when she heard the sirens. The police and ambulance were here. Suddenly she saw the stranger telling the other people something before she ran to where she was, scooped her up and ran with her in her arms before her Porsche blew up. She couldn’t believe her car just blew into pieces. She hugged the stranger closely and prayed silently.
By the time police and the medics came for her and the others, her heart was racing like crazy. She was in love and for the first time with a woman. Who wouldn’t fall for their savior?
She watched as the stranger gave her statement to the police before she got back on her bike and rode away. Just like that she watched as her heart drove further away.
Twenty minutes later, she was in her own private hospital room, on a drip and a very worried doctor in the room.
