PROLOGUE

“We are very sorry but your whole family couldn't make it,” the doctor told her as soon as she regained her consciousness.

“What do you mean by that?” she asked as tears swelled up in her eyes.

“By the time you were found in your house, all of you were unconscious and when you were sent to this hospital, your mother was lost along the way and your father a day later.”

“So, you mean that they are all dead?” she asked now tears running down her cheeks.

“We are very sorry about that.”

“How could they....?” She burst out in tears the second she heard the sad news. It was just so suffocating and heart wrenching for her.

“You have been here for a month and since you are now awake, you can decide what to do with their bodies,” the doctor said.

“Can I be alone please?”

They all left her and she let the news sink as hard as it could. They were all dead and she was alone. What was going to happen to her next?

She got discharged from the hospital and had her parents cremated as they always wanted to be. She spread their ashes on the sea. They always wanted to be free and not restrained by anything and just like any filial child, she fulfilled their last wish.

She returned back to her home and looked at the house that the three of them used to share. She found an envelope on the table and she took it and read the contents in it.

Since she was the only child and relative of her parents, all their property and wealth were left to her. It was hers and she could do whatever she wanted and she knew exactly what she was going to do next.

She put the letter back in the envelope and put a broad smile on her face as if she wasn’t the one mourning earlier and shouted as loud as she could without caring for anything more, "I AM FREE!"
