Chapter 4

Avalie was still stunned and her mouth agape as we returned to the higher class. I just laughed. She seemed shocked and mesmerized at the same time.

While Drake was left behind because he said he had something else to do and we said okay. I looked at Avalie. It seems I'll be the one that will give her Elites. I laughed again.

"Why are you laughing so hard, hmp!" she said, pouting. I continued to laugh.

"Look at your face, it's priceless!" I said.

"Why?" she asked.

"Why?" I said, attempting not to laugh.

"Is what I saw right?" she said loudly while shaking my shoulder.

"One of the elite knows you, and it is the leader! Vandel, the one and only! That's Vandel Meliora!" She shouted.

I instantly covered my ears. I looked left and right to see if there was anyone. Thankfully, there was nothing. I sighed.

I fixed my gaze on her. "Shut up! Maybe someone will hear you. We're friends. And I also can't believe that he became an elite. "I said.

"But Meliora, that's Vandel. I'm going to pass out! " she said exaggeratedly.

I laughed. " What now?"

"As far as I know, among all of them, Vandel is the one who is more respected, other than the princess." "He is strong, but he is stuck with the princess, and the princess is always glued to him," she bitterly said.

"Pinch me.I still can't believe it. I would have passed out earlier! I thought he was looking at me! Hmp!" She added.

I couldn't stop laughing at her reaction.I still can't believe that he's one of the elite. Elites that are looked up to and respected by all. He was my only friend back then, my childhood friend, until he turned twelve. All I know is that their family moved and that's it. Besides, we bid goodbye to each other before they leave.

When we got back to the room, Ava was back to her old self and was talking to Drake. I hope she doesn't mention the leader of the elites. I want to keep it a secret as much as possible. Elites is a big deal with them, and I don't want to brag about it.

"Good day, class." Another person suddenly appeared.

"I am Mrs.Smith, your Potion Making teacher." she added, glancing at everybody. Perhaps she's related to Mr. Smith.

"To add a little background Sorcery is related to potion making. For some who didn't know, sorcerers used to do chants, spells, as well as potions. We have this subject because of our headmistress. She believed that if we Mages could not do chants and spells, we might as well be able to do potions, "she said, then smiled."

"So, because it is our first meeting, we have an activity. Now, group yourselves into threes and I will discuss further. "

I sighed in delight. Good thing it's by three because Drake will drag Avalie again if it happens to be a pair.

Drake immediately comes to us. In the back of my mind, I knew he would. He was a leech to Avalie. Why don't they become roommates?

"Okay, everybody, settle down. Do all of you know what kind of potion is this? " Mrs. Smith stated while holding a tube containing green liquid.

One of my classmates raised her hand. She has short hair, chinita eyes, a round face and wears eyeglasses. "I'm not so sure, but I think it is a potion intended for healing," she said.

Mrs. Smith smiled at her. Indeed, it is for healing. However, potions have limits. They can heal your wound on the surface only. I smiled. She's good.

"Very good. This potion was only meant to heal minor wounds, cuts, burns, and other minor injuries. And I want you to re-create this kind of potion." She then cut her wrist and poured the potion on it. It healed.

Their mouths fell open. Their eyes glisten with excitement. I sighed. Stupid! Don't they know that this is from the Sorcerers? Just one wrong ingredient will have a different outcome. It also means that the sorcerers are too powerful. I smirked. They should be grateful to them for sharing.

"These are the ingredients—green tulips, water from the river of Tamora, golden leaves from Singh Tree, and a green rose. Luckily, these ingredients were provided by the headmistress herself. Consider yourself lucky that you don't have to look for them in the forest. " She said softly while showing the ingredients one by one.

"So, my challenge is that every group must perform it in front. I will not tell you how or how many to put in.You must also demonstrate it in front of them, for example, by cutting your wrist and then pouring your prepared potion. That's it. " She said, grinning.

She looks scary, though. I raised my hand.

"Yes, miss?" she said.

"What if someone cannot do it right? She or he cut his or her wrist but nothing happened? Not heal nor change?" I asked, directly looking at her.

She looked at everyone. "Don't worry, I have some potions here if something bad happens. Okay, let's start! "

She called each group one by one, and almost all of them were sloppy. It's either it is not green or nothing happens when they pour it on their cut wrist.

Others are constantly complaining. Because none of them can do it right. Mrs. Smith, on the other hand, doesn't seem to bother; she just casually stands in front watching the performance.

She called us the "Group of Meliora."

Avalie, Drake, and I instantly stand up and walk to the table where the ingredients are prepared.

"I'm afraid, Meliora, what if we might make a mistake?" Avalie said while looking at those ingredients lying around.

"Don't worry, Ava. I'm here." Drake told him confidently. I silently laughed.

"I'll take care of it." I said to both of them.

I took the container. First, I got two drops of water from the river. I mix it until it turns yellow completely.

I felt that Mrs. Smith was slowly walking towards us; she became attentive.

Then I mixed it with about five pieces of Singh Tree leaves. Finally, the green tulips I just took its flower, I cut it into four parts, and I dropped them one by one into the container and mixed them together. Until it turns into a green potion.

I smiled.

I cut my hand and put a potion on it. I was waiting for the results, then I smiled with satisfaction. It healed.

When I was about to give it to Mrs. Smith, her face suddenly changed. I looked at everyone, almost gaping. I silently laughed. That's pretty much how I see them today.

Mrs. Smith suddenly clapped. "Impressive. Out of everyone here, their group was the only one that did the right thing."

One of my classmates raised his hand. Mrs. Smith, why ates raised his hand. Mrs. Smith, why didn't she take the green rose? "When you said that those four were the ingredients?" he asked, which was agreed with by others.

Mrs. Smith sat in her chair. "Yes, they are the ingredients, but not the main ingredients. Not all the time, everything you see is right. " She just casually replied.

Definitely.

"My husband was right, Miss Meliora did a great job. Why are you here? You have skills like an elite, "she said.

Why am I here? Because of the headmistress? Or did I choose to be here? I sighed.

"Anyways, that's all for today. Goodbye class!" She said, then left.

I look at Avalie. It seems like everything has not yet sunk in for her. She was still stunned in the front, where Mrs. Smith had stood earlier. I silently laughed.

Others on the other side seem to be determined and immediately come in front to get some ingredients for the potion.

" Ava!" I call her. Does she have any deep thoughts?

"Ava!" I shouted in his ear.

She looked at me in surprise. I laughed.

"Meliora!" she said tearfully.

She's really weird!

"Oh why? Are you okay? " I said, laughing.

"Why are you so good?" she asked, pouting.

"What are you like that? Maybe it's just a coincidence." I replied.

Her snout grew longer. I smiled. I wish she would stay with me if she discovers the truth.I sighed. Life is so complicated.

"What if you really become an elite? Who's with me now? You will leave me alone. " She said it as if she was tearfully crying.

"Avalie, you might be forgetting that Drake is here." I said. "The one who follows you every day." I added.

Her eyebrows crossed and she frowned. Don't mention that!

"Why? Did you fight? " I asked, confused.

"Sort of. We're not friends!" she complained like a child. I just smiled.

I will miss this girl and this environment. But I still have something to finish.

We have been waiting for the next teacher for over an hour. Some of my classmates talk; some of them stay silent; some are sleeping; some are playing. Who are they? Avalie and Drake are now laughing. while me? I'm just looking at them.

When one of my classmates passes out unexpectedly?F-faint? I was about to help her when Avalie screamed. What the? She screamed while looking at the door.

I looked at it, witnessing Vandel intently looking at me. I sighed. I said "later." Is that now?!

I rolled my eyes at him. He just chuckled. And I know that everyone saw it. Why? Someone passed out. My eyes almost watered. Someone gaped. The Great Avalie? She's already asleep.

I sighed again.
