Chapter 1

Isabella's POV

Life has always been unfair to me or maybe I want something against my fate.

When I was three my mother died in a car accident. Later my father turned his back on me. He re-married Julia when I was seven. She came with her own baggage; her twin daughter Nicole and Natasha.

After this I never felt I had a family. My father's life revolved around his wife, twin daughter and his new born son Jaxon.I was out of the frame of this happy family.

My dad had a textile company but  with the expansion program, he was rarely home which benefited Julia and her daughter. I was treated like trash and was forced to eat trash i.e. remainings and slept at trash i.e. store.

My life was a modern Cinderella story minus the fairy godmother and prince charming.

But who needs all this when I was a one-woman army. I learned to fight my own battle and ticket to freedom.

I graduated from high school at the age of sixteen and did my bachelors on finance at nineteen.I had enough credit points to pass them easily.

I was referred by my college to Hunt industries but to my luck I was placed as an assistant to the CEO of the company Mr.Xavier Hunt.

He was twenty-nine years old most handsome man I had ever seen in my entire life.To my luck, he was a one-year married man.

He was a very patient and hard-working mentor. He took me in his wings when I had zero caliber. He taught me from foundation till the date. He gave me shelter at his staff quarter when I wanted to move out of my so-called house. Provided me a vehicle even if it is for until my service ends at his company. He took care of everybody at his company leaving none.

Maybe that had attracted me. His kindness, politeness, simplicity, his giving nature, or basically him?

As much as he gave me the security I wanted to return him the same. I wanted to shield him, protect him and his people.

I started taking care of his preferences, likes, dislikes, strategies, and plans. I did not want to be just a mere assistant to him but he was a married man.

Sure his married life was not all rainbows and roses. He was arranged to wed Alexia Travis by his father Renold Hunt. He wanted his son to marry his friend's daughter to protect his friend from insolvency. He merged the failing company to his just for the sake of friendship.

Like father like son.The duo rocks in terms of kindness.

But as always evil shines brighter in practical life Alexia swallowed the Hunt family. Once the happy Hunt family became the mansion of depression, hollow, misery, and fight.

She poisoned the family which can never come out of its sorrow and pain.

She killed her unborn baby during the third month of her marriage due to her alcoholic habit and lost her every ounce in the gambling.

She never became an ideal wife or daughter to the Hunt family but divorcing was beyond the question. It was never an option to Hunt family and forgiveness was the only thing they did for every mistake Alexia did.

Every month she had a new issue and every month she was forgiven because Mr.Travis plead for the ignorant daughter.

Three years working at Hunt industries taught me I did not have any chance in Xavier's life. Alexia will always be forgiven and Xavier will always remain married to her.

But I never wanted a title. I just wanted to ease Xavier's life even if it equals to decimals. I wanted to give him the world in a blink only if I could.

Only if I could remain by his side forever. Only if I had not been selfish that night. Only if I had not gone to the bar to pick him up. Only if I was not impregnated by him.

"What the hell is this Bela?" Xavier stormed out of his office with paper in his hand.

"Uhh...Uhh...M-My resignation." I stuttered.

"And it is approved by HR?" He raised his eyebrow with a hint of hurt in his eyes.

"Ye-Yeah." I looked everywhere but not him.

"Why?" He whispered.

"I-I wanted to complete-complete my post-graduate so-so I resigned. "I closed my eyes in fear.

"You can't leave me." He spoke with arrogance.

"I-I'm sorry." I lowered my head.

"How will I teach someone from the very base? How will they cope up with my speed? How will they match your level?" He questioned.

Please let me leave without difficulties. Please.

"I have one month prior to leaving.I will teach her everything." My voice shook.

"Everything?" I could feel his piercing eyes all over me.

"Everything." I continuously nod my head, yes making him bolt in anger.

I only felt his absence when his door banged to shut again. I let go of my breath in a sigh.

"Hello Miss assistant Is my husband inside the office?"Her comes the mother of devil Alexia Travis Hunt.

"Yes, Ma'am." I nodded just to see her flee to the door.

"By the way get me two plates and cutleries for lunch. I have brought food for my husband today." She smirked.

"Right away." I nodded and made my way to the small kitchen area on the floor.

As I knocked on the door and entered inside Alexia was placing the food on the coffee table. I glanced over the food and was not surprised by an ounce she did not know anything about Xavier. I shook my head in disappointment.

Why is she even taking marriage counseling when she does not know a single thing about her husband?

"Ma'am Mr.Hunt is allergic to mushroom and seafood."It was little to audible as Alexia always has short temper and yells at anything and everything.

"Is that so? Oh!I'm so sorry honey I did not know you had allergy with them. Miss assistant what else Xavier cannot eat?"She batted her eyes.

Where is this coming from? Does not she know she is married to him for four long year?

"Uhh...He has allergies with mushroom, seafood, soya, peanut and mustard." I recited.I always checked his food and took under control before he eats and if incase he eats the food that allergen him I always carry anti-allergen tablets in my bag.

"Thank you Miss assistant now what am I suppose to do with this food? Can you please throw away or better you can eat it." Poison.

"Yes, Ma'am." I went ahead to clean the table.

"Oh you can call me Mrs.Hunt." She smirked.

"Yes, Mrs.Hunt."I swallowed my guts.I can't take it anymore. Just one month and I am out of this misery.

"Bela bring my lunch." Xavier looked from his work file in our direction.

"Right away." I left the room with trash.

"Mr.Hunt's lunch," I shouted in the counter of office cafeteria.

"Here it is. Spinach pesto crepe." Lina handed me the lunch.

"Thank you." I saluted.

"No thanks to you. I just heated the food you brought this morning. Hell everyday I only heat the food for the boss man. He is one lucky guy." She giggled making me smile.

"The food is here." I placed his food on his table with Americano.

"Thank you." He muttered not even sparing a glance at me.

It hurt me hard seeing him distant from me. But this was only the way I could leave him. Leave his side.

He was trying to give his marriage a chance and who am I to stop him? Even if I am carrying his child all he is illegitimate. A bastard.

A tear rolled down my cheek but I managed to suppress the sob.
