Three

Elodie finally came out when she was passed by two bouncers. She smiled at them without effort. Did she hurry out without looking behind her? He was about to get into the front seat when suddenly someone spoke behind him.

"Excuse me for a moment," the man said from behind.

Elodie froze, afraid to turn around. She was only listening to see if the man was walking toward her. Maybe it was one of the man's colleagues earlier but she didn't seem to hear any footsteps so she turned to him. And she saw a bouncer looking at her.

"Why?" she asked.

"Someone is looking for you inside, Ma'am." answered the man.

Elodie already had a hunch as to who was looking for her inside but she chose to ask instead.

"Who?"

"He didn't tell me his name. But he was a tall man."

"Are you sure I'm the one he's looking for? Maybe you just made a mistake." Elodie asked.

"I'm sure. He even pointed you out to me earlier. He said you two are friends. And he's going to talk to you inside." the bouncer replied.

Elodie was nervous. She didn't want to go back inside the bar house. What she wanted to do now was to get out of this place.

"Come here. I have something to tell you," she said to the bouncer.

He approached her.

"I don't have any male friends with me tonight, sir. My companions in coming here today are all women. They are already here in the car. That man is planning something bad for me and there are many of them. So let us leave out here." Elodie said.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes."

"Alright. Go away. We'll take care of them." said the bouncer.

"Thank you."

Elodie got into the car. Finally, she can breathe easily. She immediately drove the car away from the bar house. She looked at the girls one by one. They all seemed worried too. While the car was running along the highway, they all said nothing as if ten angels had passed by.

"Breathe there, girls. Can't you breathe because you're dancing so much? I just found out that you all have a different breed of horses." Elodie joked but they didn't even laugh at what she said.

"No, Miss. We were more tired of your appearance earlier. What's going on?" Devora asked.

"Nothing," she answered.

"But you were pale earlier and you were sweating. Did something happen to you there while we were gone?" asked Shaira.

"Nothing."

Elodie didn't say anything about the man she argued with earlier. She just quickened her pace.

"Are you guys happy we're going out today?" she asked for them to divert the topic.

"Yes. It's a lot of fun. We just experienced it now. The city is more beautiful. That's why we thank you so much for being so kind to us." Mila said.

"You're all welcome," she answered.

"If you hadn't invited us now, we wouldn't have known that there was such a place here. We used to be content with discos when we had a party there in our province," said Lucy.

"You can go out every day. We shouldn't just think about work." Elodie said.

But for Elodie, she will never return to that place. Many men don't respect you, but if their ego was touched, they will get angry. She didn't want to involve any trouble as much as possible. She was suddenly silenced when a black Honda Civic suddenly crashed into the back of her car. A reason to turn girls around.

"What is that, Miss?" asked Lucy.

"I don't know. Maybe our car crash was just an accident," answered Elodie.

But she had a bad feeling because she noticed that his car was being followed by a black car. She sped up driving.

"Hold on tight, girls. Because we're going to fly," she says.

No matter how fast Elodie drove, the car still followed them. So she only had one thing in mind right now, the car following them. Elodie was sweating profusely at the same time as the loud drumming of her chest.

"Miss, who is chasing us?"

"I don't know. So don't ask anymore. We'll find a way so they can't chase us anymore."

They kept quiet. If she doesn't find a way to get away they will surely be blocked by whoever is chasing them now. They are all women but the men are still stronger than them. No matter what happens, she will not allow whoever is in the car chasing them to stop them. Elodie was shocked when her car suddenly hit hard. Even the girls screamed.

"Miss, they're already there. They're really after us. The speed of the car is that they're still trying to chase us." Devora said worriedly.

"Yes, I know. So just relax in the back. I'll find a way to get rid of them." Elodie said.

Elodie saw that there was a road to the left so she turned left, she accelerated the car and they led to the woods and she put the car in the long grass. Elodie leaned back and took a deep breath. As well as the girls in the back, wiped their sweat one by one.

"We're almost there. It's a good thing you saw this road at night, Miss." Shaira said.

"Suddenly I'm thirsty for them. I didn't know that there would be an incident like this. I've never fought with anyone or gotten angry with myself. I'm afraid to go out." Elodie said.

Many possibilities entered Elodie's mind. If they come out. What if they are already blocking them? She didn't know yet if there was a road ahead that they didn't have to go back to. Maybe they just waited for them to come out. The darkness around Elodie did not know if they were safe in this place. She could say that they were safe from those chasing them but not from wild animals just in case. She took out her phone and was about to call Donald but was disappointed because there was no signal.

"Is there no signal on your phone?" she asked.

"Nothing, Miss. It's annoying that the signal when we have to call someone important doesn't even come with us. How are we going now? This place is still scary. It's quiet around and then it's dark." Suzanne said.

"I don't know what to do either. If anyone is willing to go out and find a place we can pass through." Elodie said.

"I'll go out. My phone has a flashlight." Devora answered.

"Are you alone?" Elodie asked.

"Possible."

"Aren't you afraid of the dark?" asked Lara.

Devora's eyes rolled.

"It's as if you didn't live in the province before, as if you weren't used to the dark. The nine of us will go out. Only Miss Elodie will be left because she will drive the car after us." Devora said.

"Maybe you can turn on your car lights, Miss," said Shaira.

"No. Her car's headlights are big. We can easily be seen with that if they are still here." Devora stopped Shaira.

Devora opened the car and got out first and the other girls were forced to get out as well. They all turned on the flashlight of the phone while Elodie drove the car slowly following them. She frowned when she realized that the direction Devora was headed was back to where they had been earlier. She stopped for a moment and opened the car window.

"Just a moment. Let's go back to where we were before. Find something else we can go through. It's okay if it's in many types of grass." Elodie said.

"We might even get bitten by a snake, Miss. You stay here first and I'll look over there to see if anyone is chasing us." Devora said.

Devora motioned to them and Elodie quickly drove the car out.

"Hurry up, girls," she says.

They all ran into the car and she drove it fast, she was afraid that they might get out and suddenly block them. Elodie breathed a sigh of relief as they made their way back to her house. An hour later they arrived. They all went out to open the gate. Elodie got out of the car after parking the car inside. They all entered the house and went to the kitchen. She accepted Shaira's given glass of water and thought of something. Elodie has no recollection of hurting someone for her sake. When it comes to money, All those who work for her have a good salary. After that, she went up to her room and took off her clothes. and went into the bathroom to take a half bath. She started to take a shower and washed her whole body thoroughly to remove the sweat. Later on, she closed the shower. and came out of the bathroom. She was looking for a nightgown to wear. She was now in bed lying down. She doesn’t want to think about what could be the reason why she was being chased earlier because she can't get an answer. She closed her eyes and fell asleep.

The next day, the sun was high when Elodie woke up. She frowned because she knew that Donald was looking for her now. Maybe he lost himself again when she hadn't arrived early in the office. She got her phone in her bag only to find out that it was off. She open it and received many calls and texts from Donald, indicating that he was asking where she was. She rolled her eyes. Sometimes she wonders what the true gender of this man is. He doesn't seem like a man because he is easy to be scared of. She sent him a message, and she said she was on her way. Then she got out of bed and took a shower and got dressed. Later on, she went downstairs while carrying her newly bought bag. She found Devora in the living room preparing food.

"You're not going to eat?" Devora asked.

"No, Devora, I'm too late to go to the office," she replied.

Devora nodded and she walked out of the house right away. She gets in the car and drives away from the house. She is always looking at her watch. And it's nine o'clock in the morning. Shit! She's so late. Why did she forget to set her alarm clock? If she hadn't decided to go to the city yesterday night. Maybe she's not becoming late right now. Then, Later on, she was stuck in the traffic which made her blood boil. She almost forgot that if she travel late in the city, she might catch up with the traffic.

She honked her car. It was as if the others had stepped aside so that she could pass, but the traffic was heavy. She feel like she was deaf to different sounds. Then suddenly, there was a bump in the back of her car. It was as if her brain was shaken by the excessive impact of the crash. She looked back and seemed to smoke her nose in anger because she knew the back of her car had broken. The traffic enforcer knocked on her door.

"Ma'am, the back of your car is broken," said the man.

"I know," Elodie replied, frowning.

She gets the bag and the keys. And threw it at the traffic enforcer. He caught it while wondering.

"It's up to you to sort out the mess. I'm in a hurry," she told him.

Elodie left him stunned and ran over to the front side. She traced the side of the establishments toward her company. Two hours had passed when she arrived at the building. She opened the door and sat down in her chair with heavy breathing. It was as if she had lost her breath because of the distance she had walked. Donald gave her water and a handkerchief for her sweat.

"Thank you, Randolf," she told him.
