Four

Elodie wiped her sweat and drank the water.

"What happened, Miss?" Donald asked.

"I got stuck in traffic, and even hit the back of my car, so I left the car there at the traffic enforcer. They saw a lot of parked cars and tried to run their car. Sometimes some people don't have the initiative. " Elodie replied, as she leaned her back in the swivel chair.

"Why did you wake up so late, Miss? Where did you wander last night?" asked Donald.

Elodie winced. She doesn't want to remember what happened last night when they went to the bar because of that bad experience. She woke up late due to fatigue.

"Nothing," she answered.

"By the way, why did you call last night?" asked Donald.

Elodie's face turned red as she remembered what Donald was doing last night when she called him. Then Donald was smiling widely at her.

"Damn you, Donald. I'm embarrassed by what you did. Why did you even answer my call? I heard you muttering, you're stupidness." Elodie said.

Donald laughs.

"You are that important to me, Miss. Even in the middle of my beautiful moment, I answer your call." Donald replied with a grin.

"Whatever!"

"By the way, Mr. Yun is waiting for you inside the meeting room," said Donald.

Elodie's nostrils widened.

"What? Why did you just say it now?" she asked.

"Because I know you're still resting. And let him stiffen up waiting for you. I'm disgusted by his arrogance." Donald said, smirking.

Elodie frowning. What does that man need from her? She took her make-up kit from her bag and applied some to her face. Because her lips were already red, she didn't bother applying lipstick. She stood up and walked out of the office to see Mr. Yun was in the meeting room. She opened the door and saw him sitting. He didn't even smile at her but she saw that he was annoyed by waiting for her or it would be more correct to say that he was angry. But he didn't say anything to wait for her. So it's not her fault why he's angry now.

"This is my first time waiting for you, Miss Carlton, and do you know how much time I wasted with you?" Mr. Yun said.

Elodie raised an eyebrow. Why does this man want to thank her for waiting for her for so long? The thickness of his face showed despite his pull-out investment in her company.

"I never told you to wait for me, Mr. Yun," Elodie said.

Mr. Yun laughs just like a villain in a movie.

"It's okay, Miss Carlton. My waiting for you will be worth it if you agree to what I want to happen," said Mr. Yun causing Elodie to frown.

"What exactly is it? You had better leave my building if I hear anything inappropriate from you." she declared solemnly.

"Just relax, that's why you won't have a boyfriend because of the habit you have." He said.

"Did you just come here to annoy me? I don't need to change my habits just to like you, Mr. Yun. You're embarrassing me because of what you did by pulling out and now you still feel like showing up here? How come? " she replied.

Mr.Yun laughed and left the sitting position after approaching her causing her to back away.

"You don't have to be perfect to like you, Elodie. Because right now I like you," said Mr. Yun, the reason why Elodie's hair stood up instead of smiling, it was as if she was worried because of the way he was looking at her.

"So you came here to say that thing? As far as I know, we just met today and I don't even know you." Elodie said directly.

"Yeah. But I've known you even before."

Elodie raised an eyebrow. So this Chinese became her stalker?

"Don't you have anything else to say, Mr. Yun? I confronted you because I thought we were going to talk about business but since you pulled out your investment there is no reason for you to come back here. And when it comes to what was you said I can't say anything about that. I'm not into pleasure all I want is only business." Elodie said.

Mr.Yun laughed. That caused his eyes to disappear. He is cute and handsome but she doesn't like him.

"You can give me at least a little bit of your time. I've been waiting for you here for a while and then you send me out right away? Why do I seem to notice that everyone who faces your investors is your assistant?"

"You don't have the right to know about personal life. I still have a lot to do, maybe you've already said what you wanted to say to me." Elodie said.

"Not yet. Haven't you wondered why I pulled out my investments?" Mr. Yun asked.

"No. Your investment in my company is not a loss," she answered.

"No either, I have an offer for you that we can both benefit from," he said.

Why does this man say so much? When did he want to tell the contents of his brain?

"Speak up, Mr. Yun, so we can finish this once and for all," she said.

"You're impatient," He said.

"Of course. My time is running," she replied.

"All right, I want you to marry me for the merger of our companies," Mr. Yun said.

Elodie suddenly coughed. Like what? Is he already poor that he wants a merger?

"What comes to your mind that you thought of that? Am I the only one with a big company in the city? Do you think I would agree immediately without thinking?"

"Why not? Your company will grow when you marry me," Mr. Yun said.

"I don't need your company for my company to grow. I can grow it without having to marry someone. Don't make marriage a joke because it won't be easy if there are no feelings involved. A marriage will not be a business, remember that, Mr. Yun.” Elodie said.

Mr. Yun adjusted his seat while looking at her deeply. Elodie didn't even feel intimated by this, but she also looked down at him. No one can manipulate her when it comes to her feelings. No matter how many men strip in front of her, they will not be able to take her.

"It's easy to fall in love with me. I have all the qualities a woman is looking for," said Mr. Yun.

Elodie raised an eyebrow.

Mr. Yun was right he has all the standards that every woman could have but she is not one of those women.

"How sure are you, Mr. Yun? Girls have different standards so I'm not sure if I want someone like you," Elodie said.

Mr. Yun's smile faded. He abruptly stood up and exited the meeting room without any words. As he walked away, she took a deep breath. She cracked a smile. His company even came up with an excuse maybe her company is what he requires to expand his business. She exited the meeting room and returned to her office. Donald was not here. She sat down and began to check the documents on her table. The door opened and Donald entered with a woman.

"She is Samantha, Miss. My girlfriend. She is here to apply for a job." Donald said.

The woman smiled at her. This is Donald's girlfriend for four years now. She turned out to be kind so maybe she and Donald clicked. A relationship will not last long if their likes and beliefs conflict. So she smiled at her too.

"All right, give her the position she is fit for," she said.

"Thank you, Ma'am," Samantha said.

"You're welcome."

Minutes passed,

Donald and Samantha left the office. She leaned her back on the swivel chair and thought about what happened last night. She was so curious about someone chasing her. And she can't even remember that her parents had a misunderstanding with someone or those who were their enemies in the business when the group of men she met at the bar is too sensitive if it is them.

Elodie picked up the phone and she called someone.

"Hello, Detective, come here to the office. We need to talk," she said.

After the call, she put down the phone and placed it on the table. The door opened and Donald went inside.

"Please grab me some lunch, Donald," she told him.

Donald nodded and left the office again. And then Elodie heard a knock on the door.

"Please come in," she said.

The door opened and Detective Arthur Morgan entered.

"Sit down, Detective," she said.

Arthur sat down and faced her.

"I was surprised because all of a sudden you called me Miss Carlton," Mr. Morgan said.

"Did I disturb you?" she asked.

"Of course not," he replied.

"Last night, someone chased my car. If I hadn't found a place to hide, maybe something bad would have happened to me and my workers." Elodie said.

"Did you see the face?" he asked.

"No, Detective, because I didn't stop to find out who was in the car. I was scared because my car was running fast but it still chased me, so I thought I was really what they needed. They crashed into my car Good thing I'm running strong." she said.

"What do you want me to do?" He asked.
