Chapter 2 The Story
The castle was in a sate of disrepair as it had suffered during a great battle and the now wounded king was stuck on the throne and not able to lead his men in to battle but the Queen still remained in charge in the castle and city as well.
Up in a tower the princess was sitting down by the window looking out towards the forest in the far distance. Her smooth skin and light blond locks made her beauty all the more precocious as she was but a single child. Her long hair freely flowed down her back, she was dressed in a seemingly see though dress. The dress was in fact it was layered clothe with the outer most layer being very thin and see though wile the inner most layer was think and covered her gentle skin.
A harsh knock came from the door, she spun around in a quick turn, her calm room had now been invaded buy her father s anger and upset sate, the door quickly burst open and the king stumbled in. His light brown hair was more curly and his matching beard covered his face, the crown on his head was slanted and his red puffy ropes where open and flowing to the floor with the ends dragged along.
"What are you doing here?" he mumbled.
"I was just…" she replied trying to show of the beauty of the view.
"NO!" he shouted leaning forward "You need to learn how to lead, your teacher is waiting for you."
She stood up and marched out wile the king stumbled back towards the kitchen.
Far away from the castle and it s city sat a pine wood forest, it stood before tall wavy grass, the darker green was fare diffident then the more vibrant colours that lay far beyond. The Princess had left the castle behind and was walking though the filed feeling the grass on her hands as she moved them though the tall grass. Letting her rebellious nature came out she spun around dancing in the filed feeling free, when she stopped as a invisible sound called to her like a the song of a siren. With an strange feeling coming over her she followed the sound towards the trees and walked harmoniously in to the forest.
As she grew deeper in to the woodland she saw that the forest floor changed from dank green to a more lighter version coated in flowers and moss.
The land was a lush bright green with grass and moss covering the ground with a variety of flowers poking through the under growth to add a layer of bright and vibrant colour to the all ready breath tacking surroundings. As she stepped on the new ground she stopped and looked down at her feet to remove her shoes, before she took another step she removed them and left them behind to carry on barefoot. She felt the grass between her toes as her bear feet where pressed on and raised against the wavy grass and distant dirt. The further she ventured the more the wildlife became abundant, and she began to jump in and out of the ray s of sun light beaming through the canopy of leaves in the trees.
As she ventured further in to the woods she saw a bright and sparkling lake cut though the forest that allowed the sun light to shine down on to the still water. A large grass covered hill sat in the middle of the forest, the base was steep of showed of the smooth rock that lay underneath. It was situated on the other side of the river that cur though the landscape and as she grew closer she felt the sound become stronger and kept drawing her closer. As she reached the river and felt the calling as if calling was in fact coming from the cave on the other side. She reached out a hand and carried on her walk, the clear water was unspoiled as the ground beneath it was made of small stones and pebbles. The water was so clear it was almost as if you could drink straight from it, her feet stepped in and where cleansed as if the water was filled with magic. It was no more then a few inches deep and so did not ruin her dress, as he reached the other side she stopped out side the cave and peered in.
As she looked inside the cave the light did not reach any more then a clear meter in side the cave, still hearing the alluring call of the sound she carried on. Ducking her head as she peered in holding on to the roof and the side of the cave entrance as to guide her self safely. Walking on she strode forward with normal strides, she felt safe even through she was unable to see what was in front of her she put out her hand to feel for anything. Her hand was still reached out when she came to a stop, feeling something in front of her as something was obstructing her path. It was smooth but had a much different texture and feel towards it then the stone that was all around her.
She moved slowly forward bringing her extended arm in towards her body, before she began to reach out around the blockage to discover what it truly was. As she stopped she ran her hand down and felt rushes of hot air on her palm. But unlike someone who had discovered a monster and yanked it back in fear, she just let her hand ran down what blocked her way and let her hand fall back to her side. The something that blocked her path was in fact a living creature and had to be one of great and large size. She waited for a short wile as the sound of movement of the rocks the lighting changed as the cave light up and became brighter. With the change of light many things came to light the cave was much larger then the hill it self and standing before her was a large Dragon.
It s off white scaled skin and dark yellow eyes with oval pupil slits was a site to behold all on it s own. The Dragon spread it wings as it stretched and as it s wings where brought down and bowed it s head to see the new comer. She looked up at the creature before her, it s great and mighty stature was lowered as his body lay on the ground and his head was just above her.
"Hello." she said, looking up at the Dragon that lay before her.
"Why have you come here?" boomed the Dragon in his deep voice.
She just looked up at he Dragon.
"Speak dear child." he asked dipping his head lower to face her.
She reached out a hand and placed in on the dragon and began to stroke his scales "I only came here because I herd a call." she replied with a gentle toned voice.
"Very well." said the Dragon as he laid his head down allowing the girl to enter the larger area of the cave "Mots people come here to gain power and wealth."
The girl sat down beside the dragon and crossed her legs. "I only came to find a place to be with nature."
"Then your are welcome here." said the Dragon and laid his head back down.
The two sat but not in silence, but in deep conversation of there love of nature.
The next day the princess arrived to see the Dragon again.
"Hello again." she said as she sat down leaning up against the dragon.
"My young friend good to see you." smiled the Dragon as she settled his head down.
She started to cry and bundle up.
"What is wrong?" asked the Dragon, truing to comfort her using his wing as a blanket.
"My family is arguing and my heralds have been sent to fight in my fathers place in the war." she sobbed.
"Calm my dear child, I see your monsters and your pain, they can t harm you here, I will make sure you are always safe as long as your are with me."
She cuddled up with him to find reassurance, and felt safe with in his presence. Day in and day out the princess escaped her life of being a ruler to be with nature.
Later in life the young princess was forced to take the throne after her fathers death and after she came of age was married off and took the throne. She was standing by a window looking up at the stars in the night sky, but as she lowered her view the city walls blocked her view. She was no longer sleeping in tower but in the royal chambers of the king and queen. Looking to the bed she looked beyond luxury hand craved four stands and curtains to see the man she was forced to wed, a man she would never love. Feeling trapped she only wished the Dragon would come and whisk her away back to the cave, and back into the bed she wept and dreamed of the freedom she gave up so long ago.
The next day she was sat in a wooden chair with a tall back with a royal crest in graved above her head. The room itself was made of vast large stone bricks and the two thrones themselves sat perched high with steps leading up towards them. The large arch ways and stone pillars added to the aesthetic of the throne room, witch had many decorations added to walls to brake up the brick.
The King was gone on his own endeavours, when the squire came in to see the queen bowing down before her.
"Speak." she said, her voice a now posh and uptight in it s delivery.
"Your majesty." said the squire rising up. "The food rations where divided amongst the people, and they all take rest for the night with the night guard on duty."
"Thank you squire, I ll take my rations in the banquet hall then take my leave." she said.
"Yes your majesty." bowed the squire.
The queen stood up and left.
After she had what little foods remained she walked down a hall with tapestries of all the rules that came before, but when she settled on her own she only saw her mother with her black locks and stiff posture, as she saw her husbands she only saw her father looking back at her.
Walking though the streets of the city she saw the same stars from her window and saw their elegant beauty, knowing that everyone was able to see them if they only looked up. As she lowered her head she felt the crown on her head fall with her head but the true weight that felt worse was the one on her heart.
In the light of day she walked the streets and the crown seemed not to be their despite is presence, many merchant and solider alike she was one of them a true friend of the people. An young boy came over to the queen and tugged on her flowing robes.
"Your highness?" he asked "Is there anything I can do you for?"
She was about to speak, but her mind recoiled her thought and she kept going over it in her mind before she choose her response.
"No, dear child, I ask of nothing from my people." she said and carried on.
It was not her place to ask anything of her people.
As she reached the gate and saw her many dear followers marching of to battle with the king leading them, she felt sorrow in her heart, as the man she truly loved was going with them. For all the care she gave them they only returned it with love for their queen. As they marched onward she only wished forgivingness for sending them to do battle but they knew and had forgiven her.
As she slept that night her dreams where haunted by the tears that burnt her eyes, as they where the tears the queen can t shed. As theses tears she wept in the silence on the night as she mourned all those who died in her name for witch she wished it was none. Her dream took her to the heavens far beyond the stars to speak to the gods and ask for now more to be sent to die. She hopped that their compassion would hear her cries as she wished to send no more of men to their deaths. She woke to the sound of her own screams to find her husband was no longer present beside her and her cries and tears that began to follow echoed out on the wind towards the dragon.
The Dragon was sleeping when the sounds of the queen s cry of pain and suffering reached his ears and lifted his head. He got ready for his departure to see his good friend in her time of need. As he began to depart the cave his body began to morph and change, it s ounce large body shrivelled down, his wings folded in in his sides and his proportions shifted and evened out to that of a human. The last thing to change was his physical from with bones cracking and joints bending he emerged from the cave as an average looking adult male.
As he looked out at the land he had seen only a few times in his life, his ounce scaly skin was now turned to a pale white flesh, his head was topped with a mane of pale white spiked slicked back hair, all concealed in smart bright white clothes, he stepped fourth on to the world to which he had kept safe and blooming with his magic for years.
The Queen was sitting on the throne when squire arrived and queen stood up and the squire handed over a letter to his loyal queen. As she opened it up braking the wax seal she read it to her self and found her worst fears had come true. The king was dead in the war but it had also with his departure been brought to a sudden close, in those moments she raced out leaving the letter to fall to the ground.
With in the royal bedchamber the queen was pacing trying to find a way have a child to take over the throne with out her being forced to leave he people with out a ruler and letting the monarchy fall.
As she reached her end of her bed a sound called to her, it was a sound she had heard before as she perked her heads she knew what it was. Following it s hypnotic tone she was lead down deep in the bowls of the castle. She soon found her self deep in dungeon, the sound was no longer there, worried she had lost it, in a fit on panic she spun around looking for a sign of the sound but nothing was there. Believing that it was all over she decided to walk on but as she did something caught her eye. Stopping she looked inside one of the cells and noticed one had an occupant. One that did not belong.
"I have arrived as promised." said Dragon.
He was sitting on beach in the cell on the back wall, sitting up right with bent legs up towards his chest, with his tail slipping to the floor. His human forum never aged, the queen looked at him and ran her own hand over her face feeling the time that had passed in the years since they had last met. The Dragon got his his feet and in cloud of steam ended up at the bars holding his strong grip on them as his head pocked though the gap.
"What is it that you require in these pressing times?" he asked.
The Queen was still in shock "I, I." she stuttered. "I need to be with child."
"Hmm." thought the Dragon. "Even with my magic, this will require a more physical presence in the matter."
"What ever it takes." she said getting ready for what ever would have to come next.
The Dragon waved his hand the and cell door opened, the Queen stepped back in shock then was forced on to the stool up against the wall. The Dragon ran his hands over her and lifted up her dress, the Queen caught on was unable to move as the Dragon began to use his tail to pull down her undergarments. Looking down she saw that his genitals where not only on show but where not human and scaled like a dragon, as he thrust forward to enter her body a sudden rush came over her. The Queen felt Dragons power and strength flow though her as he proceed to conceive a child, with every thrust that went in to motion a bright light dimmed and with every retraction it bloomed ever brighter.
As they kept it up the queen was over whelmed with pleasure that she was unable to even speak. And with one last throw up against the wall the light burst out in a ball of light and the Queen felt a feeling no human could ever find in life or death. Ounce the light was gone and feeling faded, she found her self on the stool sitting in a pool of blue sticky clear liquid that seemed to have something else mixed in as there were small particles with in the liquid. Looking around no one was there, feeling tired she was about to leave when she looked back down as to wonder about the stool, it was clear. She retraced her steps making her way back to bed where she fell in to sleep and the next day she woke to find her belly had grown in size, it had worked but would she be able to pass it off as her own.
As the days passed and the bump grew and grew the queen was confused as to what would happen when the child was born. Then one day the dump was gone and the queen was forced to squeeze out an egg, it felt as if wind was flowing though her as it all seemed effortless. After the egg was dropped it was kept a secret until a week passed and it split open to show off a week old human child inside that resembled the queen. After a doctor had looked over the child she was claimed to be the new princess and said to be next in line to throne after her mother the queen had passed. As the Queen sat on the throne holding her new born the Dragon in his human form arrived and bowed before her. She did not seem happy to him again.
"Why have you come?" she asked cradling her daughter.
"Don t worry the child, will grow up normally." said the Dragon.
The Queen was unsure "Why have you come back?"
"I gifted you a child of both noble blood and who is not a Dragon-born." he said.
"Yes." said the Queen holding her deer child strongly.
"I have to warn you, your child is a full human and will not suffer the fate of a Dragon-born." he explained "But one day a child of your blood line will be born a Dragon-born and on that day I will return for the child."
The queen was worried, but in cloud of steam the Dragon was gone. The queen kissed her daughter and held her tight. She was worried for her child s future but as she was safe, she knew some day her daughter will have child who might be taken and that thought made her resent the Dragon.
As the days passed the queen grew more worried but one day as the queen arrived in the throne room rocking her daughter, as she was going to sit down she noticed a single throned white rose was elegantly place on velvet purple and golden pillow. She reached to pick it up to hold in her hand and turned to sit down as she handled the rose before moving her hand over the thorn and pricking her self. As the pain rushed over her she dropped the rose and a drop of blood followed, it hit the floor along side the rose, falling back in to the throne she only had one thought on her mind. The prick of the throne was to away to tell when a child would be chosen to be a dragon born, bending over to pick up the rose she felt a sudden surge of emotions came over. As soon as she was no longer touching the rose she felt normal, looking down she picked it up and soon it became clear the rose was a connection to the dragon. Placing it on the arm of the thorned she tried to avoid looking at it, but it was haunting her as it kept reminding her that a child of her blood line will be taken but at an unknown time. Her view barley strayed away from the rose because every time she touched the rose she saw the dragon in his human from. And when ever she saw him all she thought was that one day he would come for a child of her blood line. Every day she told her daughter the story in the tale of a fable as a warning….
Ounce upon a time in a far off land there was a great and peaceful Dragon, he lived a peace full life in side a cave in an enchanted forest. One day a young girl was walking though the the woods and came across the cave of the Dragon. She wondered inside and discovered the Dragon, he was a graceful and peaceful creature, and the young girl befriended him. The girl would come to see the dragon everyday, but one day the girl did not arrive, and So the Dragon left to find her. As he set out to find her, he discovered that she was now a Queen and had now grown up and was sitting on the throne. He bowed before the Queen and the Queen looked at him and saw the eyes of the Dragon and knew it was him. It was much later that the Queen came to see the Dragon and apologised as for she may not be able to see him any more. The Dragon ever kind and gentle understood and for all the kindness she had shown him, he will one day return in her time of need. Time passed by and the King died with out seeding an air to the throne and the Dragon arrived before the Queen ounce more. The Dragon gifted her a child in whom who shall be born on noble blood and so one day may sit the throne. But the Dragons was not finished and after the child was born returned and warned her that he would return for a child in her bloodline one day in the future.
A young girl was walking down the street about to cross the road she was in off yellow puffy winter coat with pink patterns that flowed down. Her golden curly locks that only ran down to neck, but her cut off buy the cots hood which was hanging out the back over a backpack of bright purple. She looked behind her he young face looking like that of the queens….
