Chapter 4 Appraisal

Ava's POV

Through one of his dark eyes, I saw my own face.

As if I were looking into a crystal mirror, I licked my lips at it, moving as naturally as I could. When the tip of my tongue touched those wounds, I noticed the other person's eyes move down a bit.

This made me snicker inside.

"Respected Alpha, is there really no other shortcut to take?"

I don't know if he picked up on the flirtation, but his face quickly went from cold to dark.

And then, with a turn, he actually just flung himself out! The door clanged behind him.

If he had made it harder, I could have imagined in what pathetic way the door would have fallen and hit my own feet.

"Gee, he's got a temper." I was surprised to hear Fog complimenting him.

"If you fought him now, you'd think he had a better temper, it's almost too good to be true!" I said to her mockingly.

"Since when do you get fooled by a face?"

Fog ignored me again.

I closed my mouth and heard talking coming from the door.

"Keep an eye on her, and don't let her out of this room until she passes the wolf pack test. Not if there are any problems."

It's the ice face.

"Yes, Alpha Aaron," the other man answered him, in a very respectful tone.

I repeated the name silently in my mind, but the next second I realized that I would be in a state of confinement until I passed the test. This meant that I would not be able to send any messages to Bright Moon.

However, it didn't matter if my message arrived a few days late compared to the bunch of losers Carson sent out to return empty-handed.

I hummed a pleasant ditty and danced to the table with a relaxed step.

I have to say that even in incarceration, the environment is very good. At least the table has even gadgets like mirrors in addition to essentials like paper towels and cups.

Could this be some Luna's residence?

I shook my head, thinking it was impossible.

On that crazy look of his, which female wolf will be willing to form a mate with him, not afraid of being torn by him? And also cold and hard like a stone.

I held up the mirror and lifted my chin to look at the scar on my neck, it wasn't very deep, the scar had faded long ago and now only two or three new pink flesh remained. I looked again at my lips, the tip of my tongue gently swept over the beads of my lips, like a butterfly with wings flying over the water, leaving a smear of moist sweet red.

This should be a very seductive scene, shouldn't it?

"Was I not seductive enough just now?"

"Only no." Fog answered me indifferently. "You look very greasy. It's like eating a hundred pounds of Ketorol."

Ketorol is a stimulant that I have concocted.

"You should squint your eyes, withdraw your tongue and tilt your head slightly ......"

I did as she said and a silly girl with red hair appeared in the mirror.

"Smile slowly, then press toward him." Fog's voice was full of emotion. "This is the time to open your eyes with a little anticipation ......"

I think the muscles in the corners of my mouth are about to twitch.

"Forget it, I think I should just do what I have to do, I am not suitable for seduction or anything."

I give up and say and push the mirror aside. What with squinting my eyes and slowly smiling, they all made me look very awkward and weird.

"You can also choose to pass the test. It's not that hard for you anyway." Fog's voice sounded listless.

Through the mirror, I saw my eyes light up.

Yeah, didn't that crazy person just mean that if you pass the test, you can stay?

Reader's POV

Aaron heard that Ava woke up at an unfortunate time when he was being examined, and the person in charge of examining him was still his second-in-command, Sam.

Sam will not be able to check anything, but a blind touch is all that is needed.

Aaron slapped his hand away and was about to say something when the door to his office was pushed open.

"Alpha, Edna says the person is awake."

Aaron nodded and stood up to walk out the door, stopped by Sam, who had a strange smile on his face.

"This is going to pass?"

Aaron ignored him, slapped his arm away and opened the door himself, with Sam's unrelenting voice following behind him.

"Aren't you always not really interested in that kind of relationship? This time instead, you brought a woman back."

He said while shaking his head. "Bring it back even if it is, and now it goes so aggressively, enlightened?"

Aaron still didn't say anything and stopped to look back at him.

The other side quickly shut up and held their hands up high.

He's always been such a virtuous person who won't stop until he's beaten up, and Aaron doesn't take it seriously.

When he opened the door, he thought that the female wolf should still be weak, but he didn't expect that the other party was as good as if nothing had happened, in good spirits, and even interested in looking at herself in a daze.

Aaron has never liked people staring at him, and wanted to tell her to get lost after a few random questions, yet he was surprised by the other party's thick skin and poor acting skills.

Her tone was sad like that, and she didn't even drop a tear.

He finally lost interest in continuing the cross-examination, but in the next second, he saw the woman smiling and coming forward. When the tip of her tongue gently swept over her lips, it seemed that those bruises on her lips made her feel some pain, and she gently frowned.

His heart tightened, and inexplicably he remembered the reflection of himself lunging forward in those amber eyes of the other side. Those lips were so soft with a hint of coolness, like rose petals with dew in the early morning.

"Aren't there any other shortcuts?" The other party said softly in his ear, his voice low and pleasant.

Aaron thought the woman was simply outrageous, dropped a comment and walked out the door.

He instructed the man standing guard and then turned to leave.

Nothing could make him trust someone who didn't know what was going on, he thought.

Whether she was going to stay or leave, he just had to wait and wait for the other person's true purpose.

But as he left, he couldn't help but raise his hand and put his fist gently against his chest.

That's where the heart is, they beat fast ......

Ava's POV

I had a wonderful three days of eating and sleeping and waking up and eating again.

In the past three days, I never saw anyone except the occasional person who came in to bring in food.

Whether it was the little girl you saw earlier or the man.

Although it was boring, I have to admit that I rested very well. I don't know where this place is, but I can't hear anything except the birds chirping and the wind every morning.

On the third day I was lying on the window counting the flowers for I don't know how many times when I heard the door behind me being pushed open.

"You can come out now." The other side said.

I tried to smile back at him in a friendly way, but he took one look at me, turned his head and walked away.

Well, okay. Maybe it was some guy who explained to him that I had some kind of contagious disease and that talking would be contagious and then lying in bed unable to move it.

I said this to Fog and went out the door.

Sure enough, just as I thought, this room is located in the last building of all buildings, even the ceiling of the corridor can be seen thick sound insulation, so it is difficult to hear the movement of others.

I moved forward slowly, noting the locations around me, making notes in my head one by one.

Fog said somewhat breathlessly. "It's like we're some kind of alien species like that."

I agreed with her statement, and along the way, everyone I met around me would look at me with an unfamiliar look, and every now and then whisper a few words to their companions.

I could imagine them discussing my presence, but I was surprised that they were so sensitive, would they immediately notice any stranger in a wolf pack whenever he appeared?

"Or is this some new wolf pack feature?"

"Maybe so." Fog said. "Aren't they just wolves made of rouge? Maybe that's what makes them special."

Treating everything strange as dangerous means that it takes a very long time for anyone to be accepted by them. This may also be the reason why the people sent by Bright Moon Pack before had a hard time getting information.

I tried to say hello to the most casual-looking person, but the person just lowered his eyes to avoid my sight and left in a hurry.

Until you meet that person.

Honestly, I didn't intend to go up when I saw him at first, and even tried to avoid him.

However he rushed straight at me and I noticed the people around me pause for a moment at his presence.

"You're the female wolf who fought with Alpha?"

"It's not like I'm actively picking a fight anymore." I said to Fog.

The voices around us became noisy the moment he said that, and I heard someone whisper. "She can beat the Alpha?"

Of course not! I thought to myself, "If he were in human form and I were in wolf form, I could consider it.

"Do you want to try?" So I raised my chin gently toward him. "See how good you are?"

"You should respect him." I heard someone accuse me angrily. "He's our Beta, if you want to stay in the wolf pack."

"Oh, well." I shrugged my shoulders. "I'll try."

This is obviously not a very kind attitude, and I can hear Fog sighing. But what can that do?

"I issue a challenge to you." A man stepped forward, and I saw the anger in his eyes, the muscles bulging, the

"Your name?"

Don't be ridiculous, I haven't even started the test, and now I'm fighting with someone again, can I still stay here?

I waved my hand and tried to sound as gentle as possible.

"That's not nice, I've only just arrived and I've injured someone, how unfriendly would that be."

"You're being very unfriendly right now." Fog said. "Can't you just be humble?"

The truth is that I am humble most of the time, but most of the time things tend to keep me humble.

The silver-haired Alpha arrived on the scene with his own test criteria just as I uttered those words.

"Your test to enter the wolf pack is to single out three wolf pack warriors." Aaron said to me.

"Count me in." The muscle-bound man from earlier stared at me.

"If that's what it takes to get into a wolf pack, that's fine with me." I looked at Aaron in the crowd.

But he turned his head.

I stared at the back of his head for a moment, smiled and turned my head and waved at the other man.

"OK, let's go straight together!"
