Genesis

The Yoruba tribe of West Africa has a myth about creation.

In the beginning, there was only the sky above, water and marshland below. The chief God named Olorun ruled the sky and the goddess Olokun ruled what lies below. Obatala, another god, reflected on this situation, went to Olorun for permission to create a dry land and land-living creatures to inhabit it. He was given permission, so he sought advice from Orunmila; the oldest son of Olorun and the god of prophecy. Orunmila advised him to get a gold chain, long enough to reach the earth below, a snail's shell filled with sand, a white hen, a black cat, and a palm nut, all of which he was to carry in a bag. He begged all the gods for their gold and forged a long chain, hung it from a corner of the sky, placed his bags with the materials inside over his shoulder, and started the downward climb. On reaching the end of the chain, he poured the sand from the snail's shell and release the white hen, which started scratching and scattering the sand about. Wherever the sand landed, it turned into dry land, the bigger piles becoming hills and smaller piles valleys. Obatala then jumped into a hill which he named Ile Ife. Drugged a hole, plant a palm nut on the ground, each of which grew immediately to maturity in a flash. The mature palm dropped more palm nuts on the ground, each grew immediately to maturity and repeated the process. Obatala now settled down with the cat for company and many months passed. He grew bored and decide to create beings like himself to keep him company. One day during his production, he got drunk from palm tree wine and fashioned many imperfect figures. Realizing his mistake when he was sobered, he swore never to drink again and to take care of those who were deformed. This makes him be known as the protector of the deformed. The people he created built hurts as Obatala has done and soon Ile Ife prospered and became a city. All the other gods were happy and visited the land often, except for Olokun, the ruler of all below the sky. She was angry because Obatala had not consulted her but had usurped so much of her kingdom. When Obatala visited his home in the sky. Olokun summoned the great waves of her vast oceans and sent them surging across the land, releasing waves after waves and drowning many people. Some fled to the highland and sacrificed goats and hens to Olorun. When Orunmila heard the news, he climbed down the golden chain to the earth and cast many spells which caused the floods to retreat, and the dry African soil reappeared, so ended the first great floods. But Olokun had sworn to retake all the lands that truly belong to her. The male spirits attempted to make the world without the female influence and this exclusion is what caused the world to fail.

Kira and Akira were once an angel in heaven, they are among the millions of angels who had fallen along with Lucifer in his bids to Overthrow God and command heaven. They were not just an angel, but they were among the strongest Seraphim that guarded the throne of God. During the invasion of the sons of Gods on earth; they were attracted by females' hairs, they came and get married to women and produce the first human demigod and giant on earth.

Kira and Akira had left their heavenly post and came along and had both ruled a fraction of earth, dominating and broadening to form heavenly class standards.

Then came the great flood during the time of Noah, Lucifer had commanded all his armies of angels and sons of God to assembled in heaven for the last war. All sons of Gods on earth had left immediately, except for Kira and Akira who had ignored the summoning and had flown into a higher mountain until the flood is over. Their disobedience had infuriated Lucifer so much that he had placed a spell on them, turning them into mere mortals for eight reincarnations. The twins then grow old and died and this had been the beginning of their reincarnations circle. First to be born as a mere mortal, then they had regained their first divine power in the second reincarnation. The power of divinity, the ability to be able to predict the ebbs and the flow of the arcane.

Evocation in their second reincarnation, they can easily tap into raw elements of magic, creating spontaneous effect without any tangible form like light or fire.

Illusion in their third reincarnation, they can deceive the perception, presenting their version of reality to their viewers.

Necromancy in their fourth reincarnation, they can talk or relate with the dead.

Enchantment in their fifth life, the twins can alter the mind and enthralled the senses and opinions, by charming them or compelling them to some course of actions, or inactions.

Abjuration in their sixth life, the twins have a spell of a protective nature, and nothing on earth can pierce through their bodies.

This is their seventh life and only one life remains for them to attain demonology, but Kira and Akira can't wait. Not when there seemed to be an alternative. This scepter will save them another miserable reincarnation.

It's just a ritual. Only one ritual and Kira and Akira will remain free, not bonded to Lucifer nor God. As the prophecy has revealed, whoever has the scepter when the beast arrives and performs with it the ritual of godship will be granted. And whoever is granted shall rule the beasts and humans for a thousand heavenly years.

Everything is set, the beast is here, the twins now have the scepter and will soon be on their way to where it will be used appropriately. Yet, the scepter had come with a price, they must henceforth reduce the use of magic beside the scepter In order not to awake the sleeping spirit in it before the due time.

The twins were seen in their private quarters in the palace, fully dressed. Both wearing a pink flowing gown embroidered with shining red gems. Kira held the scepter in her right hand and walked barefooted, mumbling some incantations.

"I command the ground to delay those on our pursuit, I command the air to suffocate them and make them sluggish, I command water to dry off their body and make them dizzy, all the elements, hear and worked against them." She screamed.

" Aye! So mote it be. Akira said as she looked at herself in the big mirror hung in her front. The image before her was old, white, pale, and distorted. "The aliens are coming."

"Yes I'm aware of this," Kira responded when she was through with her incantations. She quickly put on a white Snickers and tied her flowing disarray air into a ponytail. Unlike her sister, she doesn't give a damn about her physical appearance. These are just mortal flesh that will soon be put away when they manifest in their real beauty.

Both twins walked out of their quarters and emerged in a spacious parlor that serves as the palace's main parlor. The king was seen sitting on his royal chair, surrounded by his chiefs who he had summoned for this calamity. The silence in the parlor was deafening and even a pin dropped would have sounded like a gunshot.

"The hoorays will be here in a few hours and anybody found here will be killed," Akira announced.

All the chiefs started leaving one by one, and they all looked worried and as scared as a simile.

"I suggest you don't try to hide in your house or farms as nowhere is safe." She continued. " But if you choose, you can follow us." She shouted after them.

The outgoing chiefs stood on their track, some looked back at Kira while others fidgeted with their clothing.

"On one condition!" Kira let out. "You will all henceforth pray to us and worship us!"

"Aye!" Akira said. Her eyes shone with a sudden fire that just erupted from her eyes, turning the blue eyeballs into a fiery red.

"Go and gathered all your family and meet us in front of the town hall in ten minutes," Akira said. " We will take you to somewhere safe from the wrath of the aliens."

The trek from Oshogbo river where their jet had crashed to the center of the town where the museum is located in over two kilometers. Brenda and her teams chatted with their new two guides, she was amazed at the sudden change everywhere. The street is now deserted and filled with dead bodies. Most shops on the highways were broken and some of the looted goods that appeared to fell from the hand of the burglars still lies on the highway.

Only a few nightcrawlers were seen pacing far off as the group walked towards their destination.

Suddenly, Brenda walked off the main highway and walked towards a shed beside a burnt car. She bend down and scooped up a young girl in a torn gown that barely cover her small waist over jeans that had ripped off her tight, exposing that still oozed with blood. She looked as scared as a fish trapped in plastic.

"What is your name?" She asked the scared girl shivering in her.

"Mirelia", he replied with an exhausted voice.

Brenda had gently lowered her on the bonnet of a car parked beside the highway.

" You got yourself a kitten" Bobby grinned, joining Brenda as she attend to the girl's wound.

"Where are your family?" Brenda asked. Looking around as the other members of her team had joined her. All looking at the girl with pains in their eyes.

"Dead" Mirelia replied flatly. "Our car engine knocked down then we were hit by an approaching truck." She paused, cleared the tears forming in her eyes, and continued. "Sitting at the back with no seat belt, I was thrown out of the car when the truck collided with our car and landed inside a trench. I fainted, when I woke up I discovered the truck had crushed my mommy and daddy and they are burnt to teeth." She leaned towards Brenda, her eyes conveying all her emotions and trauma.

"It's okay." Brenda cuddled her. She dipped her hand inside her bag and borough out an assorted biscuit with an of water.

"Eat this to regain your strength, I have bandaged your wounds and it will heal fine."

Bobby quickly scooped her up and carried her. "We need to get going," he said.

"Wait a minute," Elenu said as he walked towards a store beside the road, the door was partly broken, exposing the content inside. As a result of the sudden shock of the change that had befall humanity, people have forgotten the most important thing needed now to survive. Clothes, shoes, jewelry, and money will soon lose their value in weeks to come if a human is unable to solve the problem of this blackout. The most important thing is food. Having seeds to plant to feed to stay alive.

"Let's take as many seeds and fruits as we can. We will need this to survive." Elenu announced as he entered the dimly light store. He quickly packed some seeds of vegetables and grains he saw on the cupboard.

"Without any power to maintain all the foods in stock, everything will soon perish and I can see a great feminine in few months," Zuma said.

Bobby nodded in agreement. He was amazed at their luck in finding Elenu and his friend. Their assistance had been enormous and he wish they remain in their team. Such a brain like this is needed in this time of trouble. He quickly opened his bag, filling it to the brim with different fruit and seeds, chemicals for fumigating the farms, and fertilizers.

"The load will be enormous for you. I suggest you drop the fertilizer." Brenda let out.

"No miss, I can carry this along with your kitten for hundred miles. " Bobby replied.

Brenda looked at Amelia who seemed to have fallen asleep on Bobby's neck. The girl looked uncomfortable as she curled, putting her head on Bobby's head.

"Your woman seemed to have a peculiar way of backing kids without a baby carrier." I need you to teach us please." Brenda said as she removed a wrapper from the clothing she had picked along the way.

"Quite easy," Elenu explained. Just bring the wrapper and I will strap it to your back."

"Not me. It is him." She replied, pointing at Sebastian who had not participated in any way but was hunched over his rosary, praying.

"What!" Elenu yelled. "Only women carry a baby in such fashion over here."

"Never mind, now rules don't work." She looked threatening at the priest who seemed to be green with anger. "Come down here and carry this girl," she ordered.

Sebastian walked dejectedly towards her, he turned and stretched his arms akimbo as Zuma tied the young girl into his back.

"You don't look bad for a woman, Elenu announced jokingly.

"No boss. I won't pay him a dime for a blow job." Zuma replied amidst the noise of laughter that had erupted among the teams.

Sebastian was disgusted. This lady had turned him into a laughing stock. Let them laugh when they can, he who laughs last, last longer.
