Chapter 5

Lydia's POV

Nina was obviously very excited about this too, and she was screaming in my head, "Lydia! You're going to be the Alpha? Oh my God! I never thought I'd be an alpha wolf, can you understand my excitement?"

"Of course, Nina, I never thought I'd be the Alpha either." I listened to Larissa talking to the crowd and secretly answered Nina in my head.

After I said this, Nina suddenly became very silent, and I was keenly aware that her mood was somewhat low.

"What's wrong, Nina, why do I get the feeling you're not too happy?"

"No, I'm happy." Nina's voice trailed off after she eagerly retorted, "I just suddenly felt guilty, if I had awakened a little later, maybe you would have ... been my fault, I didn't protect you. If I had shown up earlier, you wouldn't have been humiliated by Elvis at all."

I couldn't imagine that Nina was actually sad because of these things. I was touched in my heart, and I knew that this was a sign that Nina cared about me, and she was like Larissa, my family.

"Nina, you don't have to feel bad about this, if you hadn't saved me, I probably never would have known in my life that I could be an Alpha."

I reassured Nina, "Before I turned eighteen, I lived alone in Kelly's house and felt like a small boat in a rough sea, no one cared about me and a single wave could tip me over. Under such difficult and dangerous conditions, I survived until I was eighteen, and then I had two family members, you and Larissa, who truly loved me, and that was my greatest blessing."

After introducing me to the Glory Pack executives, Larissa took me to the Glory Pack's training ground.

It was a vast open space, and there were already countless topless men and women with their hair tied up high in training. I saw two able-bodied men fighting each other, their body colliding with each other with a dull clang that sounded frightening to the ears.

I subconsciously took a step back, only to be stopped by Larissa's large and broad hand, "Don't you want to try it, honey?"

"Me?" My shock was palpable in my tone.

After all, I'd only just awakened Nina. And to be honest, to wrestle with someone else was a giant challenge that I would definitely lose.

Larissa reached out and lifted the red hair that was in front of my eyes, "Why don't you try? Didn't you tell me you wanted to be powerful?"

"Yes, but I think this is too fast for me, but I just awakened the wolf ..." I looked at the training ground, the two men just now have transformed into wolves wrestling together, sharp teeth cutting each other's flesh, unlike that they were just training .

Larissa also noticed the situation on the training field. After all, almost everyone had stopped and focused on the two wolves in the center of the training field.

"Hey! What are you guys doing!"

Larissa reached out and pushed me toward Joseph, telling him to take care of me, and then ran toward the wolves that were wrestling together. As she ran toward them, I saw Larissa transform into a pure white wolf, just like the Glory Pack totem on my shirt. It turned out that the totem was embroidered with Larissa's wolf form.

"Be careful." Larissa's strength was so great that it pushed me straight into Joseph's arms, and he held me up, then smiled tenderly at me.

"Thank you." I broke away from Joseph's embrace, embarrassed to be held by a man I had only known for a day.

Larissa quickly took control of the two wolves, pressing one side of their heads with her front paws, and rushing the two of them with a low hissing sound, warning them not to go too far.

The two men had by now reverted to human beings and were begging Larissa for forgiveness at her paws, their voices sincere.

"I think you should know that Glory Pack's sharp teeth and claws will never attack on their companions." Larissa turned back to human as well, her voice cold and looking disappointed in the two of them, "Collect your punishment yourselves, and next time you do this, I will clean you up myself."

The two men looked at each other and I saw a deep fear in their eyes. They nodded and ran away, probably to collect their punishment.

"Receiving punishment?" I asked Joseph beside me, "What does that mean?"

"Glory Pack has strict discipline and rules, those who make mistakes will be punished according to the rules and need to go to the punishment room by themselves where someone will come to make them remember." Joseph's eyes were firmly fixed on the two men while answering my question.

"Are you okay? They didn't scare you, did they?" Larissa walked back and asked me in a soft voice. Her tone was careful and sounded like she was worried I would be scared by the scene.

I took a look at Larissa, just now when the two wolves were fighting, there was no effort to see who was persuading, and even two men attacked Larissa together. however, those two men were quickly defeated by Larissa, and Larissa was not tired at all, but the two men looked very tired.

Was this the power of the Alpha? I looked at Larissa, and at this point there was no longer any fear in my heart from earlier.

"I want to be as strong as you are." I clenched my fist and said firmly to Larissa, "I want to make everyone who ever looked down on me pay, so they'll know what they did wrong and what they missed."

Larissa was quite pleased with my reaction, "That's my girl! Sometimes you just have to use your fists and show people who's really in charge."

Larissa's eyes flicked over Joseph and me, then she patted me and Joseph on the shoulders with two separate hands, "Joseph, my good boy, how about I give you Lydia and you teach her for me?"

I was a little disappointed that I wanted Larissa to be my mentor because we had only just met and I wanted to spend some more time with her.

But I didn't say anything, because I knew that for an Alpha, Larissa had countless things to do every day and it was impossible to keep her around me all day.

"Of course, it would be my honor to teach the future Alpha." Joseph looked happy, which made the disappointment in my heart a little less. Joseph was a beta, and having a beta from a wolf pack teach me was a testament to how much Larissa valued me as a daughter.

Joseph proved to be a worthy beta of the Glory Pack, he was an excellent mentor and I learned a lot under his tutelage. The only regret was that I had no way to transform again. If Nina had not been encouraging me, I would have even thought that Awakening Wolf was just a dream of mine.

But one day during training, I was dodging as usual and Joseph was swinging at me. Joseph's attacks were getting faster and faster, my body was getting hotter and hotter, and I felt a familiar emotion. Suddenly, my whole body became particularly strange, as if every joint was reorganizing.

Time suddenly became so slow that I could read the expressions on the faces of everyone around me and the mouthing of their words, even Joseph's fist swinging at me became so slow that by the time I looked back, my hands had turned into claws, a pair of red wolf claws!

A huff of surprise erupted from around the room. The onlookers of the clan were cheering for me.

"Oh my God Lydia! Your wolf is the color of fire!"

"It's the first time I've seen a wolf of this color."

I easily dodged Joseph's fist, spun around and jumped up, easily pinning Joseph down, just as Larissa had done, with my paws pressed firmly against Joseph's head so that he couldn't move.

The cheers got even more dramatic as everyone was amazed that I had beaten the Glory Pack's Beta Joseph after only a short month of practice!

I was so excited that I pressed Joseph's head and howled at the sky. The people around me started to echo me, and the sound of wolves howling rang through the Glory Pack's training ground.

"Lydia, will you please let me go?"

Not until Joseph spoke under my paws did I realize I had forgotten to let go of him.

I hastily removed my paws, reverted to human, and helped Joseph up, "I'm sorry, I got carried away, I'm sorry."

"It's okay," Joseph casually patted the dirt on him and extended his hand at me, "Congratulations Lydia, you are now arguably one of the strongest fighters in our Glory Pack. I have expected this day to come soon, because you are working so hard."

I couldn't be bothered to shake Joseph's hand and jumped up excitedly, jumping right on top of Joseph and hugging him, laughing with him, "I did it! I did it!"

Before I could enjoy the pleasure of victory for a moment longer, I heard an all-too-familiar sound and a pair of large hands mercilessly ripped me off of Joseph.

"Lydia! What are you doing? Come back with me."

It's Elvis, how did he come to Glory Pack?

Before I could react, I was pulled forward a few steps by Elvis.

"Hey, who are you!" Joseph came forward and slapped Elvis' hand away from grabbing my arm, "Please watch your own behavior."

"Who am I?" I saw a mocking smile on Elvis' face, "I think you should start by asking who this lady is that you were just cuddling with, who stirred up our Dawn Pack and then came here and slutty cuddled with you."

Joseph did not know my story in Dawn Pack, and when he heard Elvis's words, his eyes showed a trace of confusion, and then turned his eyes to me, as if asking me if that was true.

I couldn't imagine that Elvis had the face to talk to me about Dawn Pack. My face turned red with anger and I reached out and pushed him hard, "Take your damn Dawn Pack away and leave me alone!"

"Am I bothering you?" Elvis didn't seem to expect me to push him back a few steps and was very annoyed, "I wouldn't have brought my people here if you hadn't jumped off the waterfall."

His words reminded me of that nightmarish day and his patronizing tone made my anger rise, he didn't understand anything!

"Oh yeah?" I rolled my eyes and said mockingly, "Then you should better go find out why I jumped off the waterfall instead of accusing me here."
