Chapter 3 No More Chances with My Mate Adri

She was calling out to me.

Gradually, I got a better look at her, a silvery-white wolf with blue eyes like a lake, and she was beautiful.

She was my wolf.

I always imagined what my own wolf would look like, but she was obviously more beautiful than I had imagined.

"It's nice to meet you." I responded to her awkwardly.

"Me too, my name is Bella, but I think we should talk alone." She said gently, and my attention was already drawn to her.

I then looked back and there were people around me who were celebrating my coming-of-age ceremony.

"Honey, let me guess how many wishes you made, I'm afraid this cake won't fit anymore." Suzanne said to me with a smile.

Until Suzanne left with the others, and I was left alone in the room.

As I walked out of the room, I almost bumped into someone. A smell of grass after the fresh rain mixed with the scent of pine came to me.

"Sorry..."

I said at the same time as he did.

I looked up at him and surprisingly it was Adri?

"Kasha! That's him! He's our mate!" Bella shouted frantically, so extremely excited that the noise gave me a slight headache.

"Mr. Adri, it's an honor to meet you." I greeted him with an outstretched hand and waited for a handshake which my mother had taught me.

Looking at his handsome face, my heart beat a little faster. Would he really be my mate?

I had sketched out my mate's appearance in my mind countless times, but none of them could hold a candle to the fact that he was so charming when he actually appeared in front of me.

When a werewolf met his mate, there was a soulful sensation, and I hoped he had the same pleasure as I did.

But I was disappointed.

"My status does not allow me to shake hands with a servant." Adri did not extend his hand and said to me indifferently.

The contempt in his eyes stung me, thus my outstretched hand turned into a joke, and my situation became very awkward all of a sudden.

The people in the hall also heard what he said to me and looked at me, and even a few men whistled at me with sarcastic smiles on their faces.

Others were talking to each other, and I knew that they were laughing at me.

I felt suffocated by the great shame that overwhelmed me like seawater, and I felt extraordinarily uncomfortable being treated with such a bad attitude by my mate.

As if nothing had happened, Adri returned to his seat and resumed his meal.

I stood still, as my body was stiff, just wondering why he would treat me this way, did he not sense that I was his mate?

I couldn't stand being visited like a monkey, so I turned around and walked out of the hall through the back door and walked alone to a garden.

"Kasha! Where are you going? Go get that guy!" Bella, still not understanding what was happening, shouted.

Her voice brought up the sadness in my heart, my nose turned sour, and tears fell from my eyes.

"No, Bella, he turned us down."

Bella said gently. "Don't cry, maybe he just doesn't feel our presence and we should give him a chance."

But I still felt uncomfortable, and I left the Hobart family villa as fast as I could.

All I had left in my heart was sadness and anger. I didn't know why Tina had to have me come to this party and make me humiliated and have to work for them as a maid.

Tina was getting ready to leave the house when I showed up at the door.

Perhaps she saw my red eyes with tears and came up to me.

"Hey, Kasha, what happened? Why are you here? The party can't be over this early!" Tina said as she looked at me.

"Yes, the party isn't over, but I don't want to stay in that hellhole, and I swear I'll never go to such parties again." I cried out to Tina and then ran to my room.

Such an uncomfortable disgrace was enough.

I locked myself in my room and didn't want to talk to anyone, including Tina.

Until I calmed down, I saw a wooden box on the table in the room with a lock that had been opened.

Opening the box, my tears flowed down once again.

It's a beautiful necklace with sapphires that were as beautiful as Bella's eyes.

Pressed underneath the necklace was a note in my father's handwriting.

"Kasha, my daughter, today is your coming-of-age ceremony and this necklace is a gift for you. You are as beautiful in my heart as it is. Always and deeply loved by your father - Kanas."

Looking at the necklace, I couldn't help but squat on the floor and cry.

If he were still alive, he could have given me this necklace with his own hands.

But I lost him forever.

I wore that necklace as if my father was still with me.

He was a brave and strong man, and I should be just like him.

The next day at noon, I decided to go to the Hobart family again and have a good talk with Adri.

He must have known about us being mates yesterday too.

I walked outside the gates of that villa, still thinking about how I should talk to Adri about last night.

"That's her, she's a thief, she should be arrested!"

I was thinking about it when someone suddenly shouted.

It was another housekeeper of the villa, an older man with gray hair, who was pointing at me and saying to Adri.

"I didn't..." I didn't steal anything at all, but Adri came up to me, and his eyes were fixed on me.

Because of fear, I hurriedly lowered my head.

"This is what you stole." Adri said, pointing to the bag in my hand, which contained the clothes worn at the party yesterday.

"I didn't steal it!" I lifted my head and said firmly. I had to defend myself.

"Mr. Adri, Kasha won't steal anything, I promise." Suzanne walked over and bowed to Adri respectfully.

"Lady Suzanne, the dress is in her hand, do you think we are all blind?" The housekeeper said with a raised voice.

"I came here just to..."

"No matter what purpose you took it for, this is the first and last time. If you dare to take any more of it, I'll cut your hand off, that's the rule."

Adri said indifferently, seemingly in his mind he had decided that I am a thief.

I didn't know what to say, I felt aggrieved, but I tried to resist the urge to cry out and didn't say anything.

"Other than that, I think we should talk." Adri said to me.

He then led me to the shade of a large tree.

"Are you trying to say what happened last night?" I had prepared myself mentally.

"You should know that as the future leader of Black Thunder Pack, my mate needs to shoulder the same responsibility as I do. However, it is obvious that with your background, it is impossible to do so." Adri said impatiently.

I knew very well that he was rejecting me, and I was prepared for such an outcome, but when he actually spoke the words out, I couldn't help but shed a tear.

"Why do you think I must not be able to do it?" I didn't understand, and I couldn't understand.

"Because your wolves, right now, are just a bunch of pathetically weak omegas, and I need powerful wolves and mate that can give me strong support, and you can't help me with anything."

Adri got a little angry, as his eyes were locked on me and his tone got intensified, "I will not recognize you as my mate."

Fear and aggravation made me cry even harder.

I was trembling and the sadness of rejection overwhelmed me once again.

I shouldn't have come here and let him humiliate me a second time.

I turned and ran for the gate and kept running in the direction of home.

"Kasha, don't be so sad, maybe he just can't accept it right now, we'll always have a chance." Bella comforted me.

"No, there will be never a chance with him again." I said to Bella as I cried and ran.

As night fell, I hadn't arrived home yet because I didn't want to face Tina's questioning.

The moonlight shone through the clouds and shone on me.
