Chapter 6
Chris's POV.
The fangs pierced my skin, the blood was draining fast, accompanied by maddening pain that I could only grit my teeth and endure.
The pain didn't last long and Burris quickly released me, seemingly just to punish me with the pain. He thought that would make me give in, and that wasn't going to happen!
"Now your blood is starting to get tasty, but it's not enough, you need to get stronger to do that." Burris wiped away the blood that had stained his lips.
"Bastard! You monster, sooner or later I'll drain your blood, and then will I be strong enough?!" I said to him in a harsh voice, covering my neck.
"What a savage woman you are, now I think you need someone to teach you how to be polite to the Prince." Burris frowned at me, my expletive had pissed him off again and he began to pressure me.
I curled up on the floor in pain and didn't open my mouth to beg for mercy, such life was so desperate, he might as well just get me killed.
But he suddenly stopped and went back to the ice coffin and had a silver dagger in his hand. It would be a deadly weapon for a vampire if it happened to go right into the heart.
"You better be honest and stop holding me up." He warned me.
Then he pushed the ice coffin open and raised his right hand above it, slitting his wrist with a dagger, blood pooling in drops down his wrist before falling into the ice coffin.
I lay on the floor, still unable to see the person in the ice coffin, but I could probably guess what Burris was doing - he was feeding his sleeping sister with his own blood.
His eyes were red at this point, which was probably due to the loss of energy, as his eyes didn't look angry, but rather gentle.
"Diana, come on wake up and talk to me." He said.
Burris looked sad, his eyes soft and melancholy, as if he had remembered something very sad.
The process went on for a long time, his eyes turned from red to dark gold and his face was horribly pale, like he was going to die next, even though he was already a dead man.
Oh, that didn t seem right, the Prince was born a member of Blood.
"Hey, you're about to die and aren t you stopping?" I couldn't help but say, his tenderness for his sister struck a chord with me and reminded me of Cecil.
I thought I'd give my life to save Cecil if that happened to him too. He's the only family I had in this world.
At the sound of my voice, Burris took a moment to look at me, his eyes softening considerably, but he still said to me, "Leave me alone!"
Yes, I'm being nosy, I must not be in my right mind. This was when I should have run away, maybe even taken the opportunity to destroy them, which sounded a bit mean.
"Chris, you better not move, I've got the strength to teach you a lesson."
Oh my God! It was like he saw right through me. I glanced at him surprisingly.
"Don't worry, I won't move." I assured him.
I didn t doubt his word, Burris did still seem to have the strength to get me killed. And being so tired at that time, I didn t have the strength to run away again.
"You're the Prince, with the most powerful power in the family, but why can't you wake Diana up?" I couldn't help but ask him curiously.
He glanced at me and focused on the wound, and I noticed that it was slowly healing, but he immediately made another fresh cut there.
Damn! It looked so painful, it's almost self-harm. I had to say, Burris wasn t exactly gentle with women, but he's a responsible brother.
I didn't bother him and sat quietly to the side, the wound on my neck seemingly healed.
There's no clock in this room, and I didn t know how long we stayed, and Burris cut on the wound several more times, and he didn't even move his eyebrows, as if he couldn't feel the pain.
Finally, his eye sockets began to sink and his body became dried up before the ice coffin was re-covered and I never got to see Diana.
Burris had used up the last bit of strength in his body and collapsed to the floor. He looked even weaker than I had just now, and I figured if I ran away now, he wouldn't have the strength to catch up to me.
Maybe, I could even kill him, I hesitated for a moment, getting up from the ground and slowly walking towards him.
The silver dagger was within his reach, and if I just picked it up and stabbed it in his heart, he would instantly turn into a fishy handful of ashes, like that low-level vampire.
I eased my hand towards the dagger, and suddenly Burris grabbed my wrist, and he hadn't passed out!
"Uh ... I'm just trying to help you put him away." I explained in a lame lie.
His hand was padded beneath his face, revealing only one dark red eye, bereft of its former luster and tinged with a certain frightening desire.
I saw the knot in his throat roll up and down as he said, "Chris, I need blood."
"No! I ..." The bastard pulled me down before I could finish my refusal.
Damn, why does he still have so much strength, I felt angry and desperate.
His heavy body pressed against me, his face buried in my shoulder. I didn t know if it's because of his breathing, but I feel gas hitting the nape of my neck.
"You smell so good Chris, I want to suck some of your blood, is that okay?" Burris whispered pleadingly in my ear.
Even though I knew he was complimenting me like that, like a hungry person complimenting a burger, I was a little embarrassed.
"Burris, you should calm down, you won't be able to save your sister if you drain me of my blood." I pulled away from him as I tried to convince him.
Burris would definitely suck me dry in this state right now.
He stopped moving, let out a groan of pain, and ordered me in a deep voice, "Return me to the villa, I need the blood slave."
"Good." I sighed in relief, "Just get off of me for a second, okay? You're too heavy."
He braced his hands on the floor and rolled to the side, and I hesitated, pulling him up off the floor.
Burris was really too heavy and I was not strong enough at the point to almost go down with him.
"You should have let Phillips stay, I don't know how to get you back, you're actually too heavy again." I said bitterly, scratching my hair.
"No!" Burris spoke in a stern tone, warning me, "You better stay away from him, he's a mean guy and if he sees me now, he'll suck me dry before he comes and sucks you dry."
"Lord Prince, everyone is despicable except you." I rolled my eyes at him.
Burris didn't seem to have the strength to argue, and just looked at me for a second before leaning back against the ice coffin and closing his eyes.
"What now?" I asked him.
"If you're in a hurry to get back, you can feed me the blood like I just did, otherwise shut your mouth and be quiet for a while." He said impatiently.
"I can go back on my own." I said to him.
"Phillips hasn't left yet, you can get out yourself if you want to get killed." Burris said with his eyes closed.
"Damn it!" I whispered a curse and sat down next to him.
After that, we sat there for a long time again, the vampires wouldn't sleep and we talked and always argued and had to close our eyes and pretend to rest with no concept of time, it was a very torturous time.
"Okay." Burris said suddenly.
I immediately opened my eyes and he was already standing up and right in front of me, for who knew how long.
His eyes reverted to a lustrous gold and he looked at me silently in the darkness like two shining stars watching over me.
"Let's go." I said, getting up from the ground as well.
We went out the way we came and when we got outside the villa, Burris suddenly wrapped his arms around my waist and before I could react, the scenery around us had changed rapidly backwards and in the blink of an eye we were back at the villa we were living in.
But it was in a strange room.
"Phillips is going to be staying here for a while and you're going to stay with me the whole time or he's going to bite you." Burris explained to me.
"Is this your room?" I looked around curiously.
The room had a very simple layout. There was a queen-size bed in the middle and overhanging bookshelves all along the walls were books and records, then a couple of record players slept silently in the corner, then nothing, making the room seem a bit empty and oddly enough ...
