Chapter 4: Yes, I'm married

SIMONE'S P.O.V

This man seems to be worried by the fact that I might be playing around. He know how to play safe and make sure he won't get hurt. I smiled.

"Why? Are you afraid of marriage, Mr. Maxwell?"-I ask in teasing tone. He frown.

"I am more afraid that I am marrying a fox."

"Oh please, at least this fox is beautiful and alluringly sexy."-I said. He sighed.

"How can you find a way to annoy the people you are talking to? Your confidence is too high Ms. Lavelle, learn how to stay on the ground."

"I am stepping a sand so I am not on the ground."-I said. I wanted to annoy him.

"Did you know that I actually hit even women? Especially the annoying one?"-he said.

"Oh? I am not annoying. If I do, what an annoyingly intelligent I am."-I said. His faces became blank and he suddenly choke me using his arms. I cough and tried to turn my head to him. I kiss his cheeks and he let me go instantly.

"What was that for?!"-he said.

"Ahahaha! Your expression? Oh goodness, if you can only see. It's priceless Russell."-I said.

"You're really annoying!"-he said. I just shrug my shoulder and walk closer to the waves. The truth is, I am worried that I am marrying a man that I only meet yesterday. I am afraid because I didn't know him. That my life will change 180° and I don't know how to deal with it actually.

"I don't have any real motive, Russell. Let's say that I am good in adapting. Whenever that dad threw me in places that he wanted, I can easily adapt and control the situation myself. Just like what mom told me. Sher trained me how to master the reality of adaptation."

"I am not good in that. I am stubborn in a way that I am ready to threw my life on things that I wanted to do. They typically saw me as the rebellious child but I didn't saw myself like that. Let's say I am good in saying yes?"

"I can teach you how to adapt things easily. I am telling you, your life will be much easier if you learn how to do it."

"Nah, I'm good in being the stubborn one. This Wednesday lets" register our wedding and have a small ceremony in my family's hotel."

"Okay, no problem with me. I will do the work, just attend."-I said.

"I can help you with that. Don't worry."

"If you can then that's good. Anyway, I am curious about your reason why you feel in love in swimming. Your...body seems to be perfect in baseball or basketball. No offense but typically swimmer had a smaller body proportion."-I ask. His eyebrow arches.

"Don't tell me your discriminating me either?"

"Huh? I am asking the reason why you choose that sport. I am not discriminating athletes. I am quiet fond on them because I am an athlete myself way back in my chaotic college days."

"Chaotic? Wow, I really wonder what kind of student you are, Ms. Lavelle."-he said.

"Hey, stop calling me by my surname. Just call me Simone."-I said. He shrug his shoulder.

"Well, when I was in my 4th grade, I accidentally fell in a pool and I am not a swimmer that time. A middle school boy save me and since then I wanted to be a good swimmer. I started to take lesson and then join clubs until I became a professional swimmer. My dad hate it but I keep on choosing the path that I wanted. I always say that its my life, then I'll make choices. Apparently it tore us apart."

"One day he will understand you. After all, your making his name famous all around the world. Who knows? He'll watch your first ever competition in Olympic games."

"That would be the happiest day of my life. But I bet that wouldn't happen. He will support me in another field and that is in business world. I am sure of that."-he said.

"Okay. If that's what you thought. But its not bad to see it as a goal, isn't it?"-I said.

"A goal, huh...?"

"I'm hungry, I wanted to eat in a seafood restaurant. Did you have anything in mind?"

"I do know a nearest seafood restaurant from here. It will be 30 minutes. Is that okay?"

"Okay."-I said. He opens the door of his car to me. I saw that he put his hand above my head.

He is a gentleman himself, huh? Not bad."

When we reach the restaurant, I can smell the delicious food they serve to their customers. He pulled a chair on me and I acted natural.

"What is your order Ma'am and Sir?"

"I want this king lobster, spicy crabs with coconut milk and this fried prawns with chili sauce."-I said. He gave his order as well.

"I will be taking the same order plus two chocolate fondue."-he said.

RUSSELL'S P.O.V

She's a big eater. But she still shows her eating manner. I doubt that she is not into plastic surgery if she eats like this.

"I am not a plastic doll, Russell. But I am not discriminating those women who found confidence by the help of plastic surgery."

"I didn't say anything."

"It was written all over your face. I have been a businesswoman for ages, Russell. I am good in reading someone else's thoughts."-she said.

"That is scary."-I said. She laugh.

"Don't worry, I will just use that if I wanted to blackmail you. Take it easy, young man."

"Now I wanted to step back in marrying you."

"Don't worry, we can have a shotgun wedding."-she said. She is good in attacking you with your own statements. Maybe she train herself well. After we eat, I send her home. Her dad is home and I have no choice but to talk to him over a cup of coffee.

"Why did you agree? Did Simone threaten you?"-he ask. He is exactly like my dad.

"No uncle Alberto. Let's say we both knew that we have no right to disagree anyway."

"My daughter is good in blackmailing people and manipulating the situations around her. That's why I knew she did the same to you."-he said. I just smiled and speak again.

"Don't worry uncle, I'm good in bargaining."-I said. He ask about our wedding ceremony and I told him about our plan. That's when I learn that in Wednesday, December 27th is her birthday as well. Did she choose that day intentionally? She is indeed a creepy woman."

Days had passed and because we have the manpower and money, everything went well. I open the door and saw a beautiful woman in an elegant wedding dress. Damn, she is gorgeous"

"Hope do I look?"-she ask.

"There is a mirror in front of you."-I said.

"Wow, you should've lied and say beautiful. My goodness. You're stingy yourself are you?"

"Your not beautiful."-I said. She frowned.

"Okay, at least I look presentable. But for you? You look good in that tux. You've got yourself an alluring beauty."-she said.

"I said your not beautiful—"

"Okay, okay, I hear you, mister."

"Because you're gorgeous."-I added. That made her froze and smile.

"I'll take that as a compliment. Thank you."

The door opens and the emcee speaks.

"Be ready in two minutes."-he said. We both nodded and he closes the door. I stood beside her, she suddenly hold my bow tie and fix it.

"At least we should look okay in our wedding photo."-she said. She grab my arms and we went to the venue area.

"Let's all welcome the bride and the groom!"

The door opens and we slowly walk on the red carpet. We only have ten people to witness this wedding. That includes my best friend and my cousin as well. I hope this decision won't be the worst thing that I ever done in my life.

"Now let's hear their vows."-he said.

"You didn't say that we have to say something."

"I didn't even know. I haven't attended any wedding in my life."-she said. We look at each other. What should we say then? Damn it! I took the ring and held her hand. I'll just say anything that is acceptable! This is hilarious!

"Uhm...I'll stay by your side and...you're the boss inside the house. You will decide most of the things and...I'll be loyal to you..."-I said. I put the ring on her finger and she took the ring on the box. She look confused as well.

"I will be the wife that you...wanted? In bed and in everything. I will be the kindest boss you have ever had."-she said and put the ring on my finger. We look on each other.

"Kiss!"-they said. We both look on each other.

"What should we do?"-I mumbled. She held my hand and take of her veil.

"Maybe a peek will do. Let's just finish this ceremony."-she said. She tiptoed and give me a quick kiss. After that they clap their hands. All of a sudden I wanted to have a second thought in marrying this arrogant and odd woman. When the food is serve it feels like I am having a nightmare myself. I fell like everyone is watching us and waiting if we will make a mistake. She put a cake on my plate.

"Just eat and act cool. Don't be nervous and they'll see it."-she said. I just sigh.

On the hotel room. We both see the petals, balloons and candles. This must be my mom's idea. She look at me. I step back.

"Your mom seems to be excited, huh?"

"Don't try to tease me, Simone."-I said.

"Why? Afraid much, Russell? Do you want to do it, hmm?"-she said. She even smirk!
