Chapter 2 Collided

ADAM

I grimaced in annoyance at who was calling me at this time.

"What the hell? It's 3 a.m., and who the fuck is calling in the middle of the night?" I muttered angrily and looked for my phone. I immediately checked the caller ID of the person who had interrupted my sleep.

"What do you want, Scott?" I irritably inquired, rubbing my brow.

"I apologize for disturbing your sleep, but could you please do me a favor?" I wanted to punch him in the face and groin for ruining my sleep.

Before responding, I sighed deeply. This guy is putting a strain on my patience.

"What exactly is it?" I asked calmly, trying not to lose my cool.

"Would you be willing to pick up my cousin at the airport? I can't get him right now because I'm too busy in my office working on a project that should be yours."

"Okay! What time is it, and which airport is it at?" I eventually agreed.

He specified the time and place where his cousin would arrive.

8:00 a.m. at the airport...

I've already been sitting on the bench for an hour. Scott told me that the plane would arrive at 8 a.m., so I patiently waited for an hour.

When all of a sudden, a man appeared in front of me.

"Adam dude!" exclaimed the man in front of me.

"Yes?" I inquired, arching my right brow.

"Hello, my name is Keiro! Remember? Scott's cousin?" He points to himself as he introduces himself.

I stood up and gently punched his shoulder. He's already a man of maturity. I don't even know who he is.

"Man! What was the point of that? "He screamed as he held the part I punched.

"It's just to keep me waiting."

We lock our gazes on each other for a moment before bursting out laughing, causing people to turn their heads to look at us.

"Oh, no! You did not make another mistake. I always come up short "He whimpers like a child. Yes, his appearance had changed, but he was still young enough to reason.

"Because I'm good," I grinned, drawing a roll of the eyes from him.

"No, you aren't. I can't help but close my beautiful eyes. Look at yourself, do you want to be called a hermit because you resemble one? "He bursts out laughing as he says those words.

"Stop talking! Take your belongings, and don't expect me to assist you "I turned around and walked away, leaving him full of complaints.

We were walking out when I noticed a woman in a red dress clutching her bag and crossing our path. When I saw her face, my heart raced and I went numb when our gazes met.

It's her, it's totally her.

I dashed towards her. Keiro, who was yelling at me, went unnoticed. All I know is that she returned, that she is alive and not dead. I didn't bother to apologize to everyone I passed. Until I grab her wrist and turn her head to face me. I'm still in disbelief that it's her. I swear I'm not making this up.

"Adam," she said softly enough for me to hear.

"Do you recognize me?" I inquired, my gaze fixed on hers. She says my name, and I hear it come out of her mouth.

"N-no!" she screamed, attempting to break free from his grip.

"You say my name," I gritted as she gripped her shoulders tightly.

"I-I don't know who you are. Allow me to go!" She yelled and ran away.

I'm not sure why I hadn't followed her to feel my own feet, as if I'd been paralyzed at my former location. I just stared at her until she faded from view.

She says my name aloud, despite the fact that she said it under her breath. She says my name loudly and clearly, and I believe I heard it correctly.

"Adam! Who are you interested in?" Keiro appeared out of nowhere. I almost forget I'm with him.

"Nothing," I replied, still staring down the street where Mirana had left.

"Okay? Should we go? I'm starving and in desperate need of sleep, jet lag bro "He said this while looking drowsy.

"Let's go get your luggage and load it into the car."

"What are you waiting for?" he inquired as he opened the car's front door.

I believe it was her; she is still alive. But I'm not sure why she keeps denying that she didn't know who I was when she says my name. Why did she insist she didn't know who I was? I'm hoping that all of my questions will be answered.

Mirana, you've just returned to my life. I'll forgive you for whatever you've done. Just come back.

MARINA

Apartment 9:00 am

"No, we shouldn't have met," I said as I closed the door slowly.

"Marina, who should you not see?" my aunt asked as she hugged me. She gave me a worried look.

"Adam saw me," I said, a little nervously.

Auntie Emilia already knows everything before I arrive. Marina told her everything, and her aunt became enraged as a result. Nonetheless, her aunt stood by her.

I didn't know, but my twin sister was unconcerned about me. It was as if Mirana had planned everything from the moment I arrived in the Philippines. But I shouldn't make any assumptions because she's my sister.

"What exactly did you do?" "Did you do anything that would make me suspect you?" she asked as she handed me a glass of water.

"N-nothing," I mumbled as I gulped. She looked at me, unconvinced by my response, but she didn't press the issue further.

"You've already met him, Marina; I hope you're prepared for what you've entered," she said, cupping my face and looking at me with concern.

"I'm not sure why I agreed, and I'm not sure if I'm ready for it." "I can't say no to my twin," I replied, looking out the window.

"I'm here, Marina," she said, pulling me into a hug.

"Thank you very much, aunt Emilia."

"Marina, I believe you'd like to see Adam as well, am I correct?" As we drew back into our embrace, she inquired.

I simply nodded in response to her statement.

Aunt Emilia has been aware of my feelings for Adam since I was a child. I told her everything that had happened since our mother and father abandoned us. Aunt Emilia has been by our sides since we were children. She has been our guardian, and we treat her as if she is our mother, and she treats us as if we are her children, which is why I adored her.

ADAM

Meanwhile, at the penthouse

"I know it's her, I know it's her." The way she says my name, the way she looks at me, her touch, her smell, but something bothers me, and I'm not sure what it is. "I'll find her whatever it takes," I thought as I reflected on what had happened at the airport.

I called Scott after I took a bath. I stood at the glass wall, looking out at the city lights, patiently waiting for his response.

"Hello, Adam," came the response in the second line.

"I found her.

"Who?" he asked, perplexed.

"I saw her at the airport, Mirana."

"Your hallucinating Adam, we both know Mirana is no longer alive." "Please, Adam, let's get over it," he yelled angrily.

"I'm not kidding, Scott." I did see her, and she even addressed me by name. Scott, she's alive, Mirana's alive. "I'm not deceiving you; I'm telling you the truth," I stated emphatically.

"Okay, Adam, I ll only believe you if you have proof."

"You have a lot of friends in every agency in airports, right? Check if there is Mirana Vaughn Welch that booked a flight and arrived here today, that s my proof and I also want to double-check if I m right", I said and I heard him sighed and it looked like I already convinced him.

"Okay, I ll do it tomorrow morning but now, I have a lot of things to do but I'm surely going to do it tomorrow. I will call you then."

After we talked, I looked at my table and got a picture of me with Mirana.

"Mirana, why deny me?"

FLASHBACK

"Adam, Game of Thrones again?"

"Sweetheart are you jealous?" I chuckled as I grip her waist and pull her closer.

"No! I m not," she flung her arms unto my neck and kissed me in the neck leaving me a love bite.

"You re teasing me, Sweetheart," I growled.

"No! I m not," she purred. I kissed her hungrily till she moaned my name.

"Ohhhhh, Adam," she moaned loudly.

"I love you, Mirana," I stated before kissing her forehead and hugging her tightly.

"I love you too, Adam, "she replied before giving me a peck in my lips.

"Come back again into my life, Mirana."
