Chapter 7 Dream Never Lies

MIRANA

BRAZIL 2:30 am

I was sitting under the tree watching the children as they played together with their parents. I looked at the sky that is so peaceful, the leaves that are slowly falling into the ground, and the wind that is solemnly touching my skin and waving some of my hair.

I closed my eyes as the tears were freely falling into my cheeks. I heard some footsteps coming into my direction, I didn't bother opening my eyes for I know that it is him. He laid down in the grass and grabbed me. He placed me into his chest. I look at him and my heart skips a beat, he looks at me with full of love in his eyes. He smiled and kissed me gently in the forehead.

"Your parents huh!" he said while brushing my hair.

I didn't reply but I just took a deep breath.

"They love you, trust me," he said softly.

I don't know but I suddenly want to believe in his words.

"I love you," I can't believe that it was coming from my mouth but I don't regret those words.

His eyes sparkled with happiness and embrace.

"I love you too more than you'll ever know, Mirana."

I instantly woke up by that dream; my pillow was soaking with tears. I don't know that I was crying.

"Kid"

"Sorry, please forgive me," I said softly as I looked at the glass window.

"Mirana," Marco calls me waking up from sleep.

"Are you crying?" he added.

"I just remembered someone," I said, not looking at him.

"Who?" he asked intrigued with my statement.

"Kid".

"Kid? What about him?"

"Nothing, don't mind me. Sorry if I awake you, go back to sleep now, "I said smiling at him.

"Okay. You go back to sleep, it's been a tiring day. You need to have a lot of sleep Mirana," he said.

The way he says my name I always hear the voice of Kid from him.

"It's just a voice Mirana no big deal," I thought to myself.

I went back to sleep but Kid's face left my mind.

MARINA

Philippines 6:00 am

I woke up early and immediately remembered a news story I had read in the newspaper yesterday. The news content is all about Marco being a very wealthy businessman in the industrial world. It also states the marriage of a young man who became controversial because of a mysterious woman.

But the media did not disclose the name of the young woman's bride, but I know it was my twin Mirana. It's just sad to think that she forgot Adam. I thought about cooking breakfast rather than thinking about what could happen to my twin. I know he works as a secret agent but I don't know that he holds a big company.

Does Mirana know it all?

I was humming as I fried some eggs in the pan when someone grips my waist.

"Good morning, Sweetheart," he huskily said to my ears.

"You're awake, and it's too early," I said, not comfortable.

"I have an early business meeting."

"I'm starving," he added.

"3 minutes," I said as I mixed the ingredients for the pancakes.

"Don't rush yourself," he laughed.

" Why should I slow down in cooking when you have a meeting early and you're hungry?" I frowned.

"I'm just kidding. Today I give all my time to the woman I love," he winks at me.

"You" he cut me off.

"No regrets. It's been a hundred years since we didn't go out," he acted like in pain.

"Exaggerating," I sang.

"I should pick your dress that you should be wearing for our date," he said sternly.

"I can do it myself," I said looking straight into his eyes.

"No, I should do it by myself, Milady, and do not argue with me anymore," he accented.

"Forgive me, My Lord, for my foolishness," I replied laughing at my acting.

"I will forgive you if you will make love to me tonight," he grinned.

"Adam!" I blushed.

He laughs hard at my face, making me grumpy.

"Call me when breakfast is served. I shall pick your dress."

"Silly"

I was already preparing the plates for us when I received a message coming from my sister.

'Marina, how is it going out there? In a few days, I will get married. Don't make trouble and don't say the things you know.'

I did not reply to her text and immediately turned off my cell phone because later I knew she would call.

I couldn't answer her questions, I didn't want to hurt Adam. I would rather be hurt and sacrificed.

Night after night I always pray that I will be forgiven for lying to someone who doesn't know what really happened. Every day I feel guilty every time our eyes meet.

I want to tell him the truth, but where do I start?

I snap myself out from thinking.

"Adam! Breakfast is served! Come out there now before it gets cold," I shouted and it echoed the whole room.

"Okay," he shouted back.

After we ate, she volunteered to wash the dishes so I could take a bath and get myself ready. I didn't want to leave him alone but he insisted he was taking care of everything

As I was in the shower room I suddenly remembered Mirana.

"Just for now, I shall take a rest. Sorry Mirana," I thought as the warm water poured to my body.

I covered myself as I headed out in the shower room. I blowered my hair and lotion my body before dressing up.

The dress that Adam picks is such a beautiful lace dress. I gasp when someone holds my arm and whispers huskily to my ears.

"That dress will fit you."

"Thank you. Uhm, can you please go out so I can go get the dress?" I shyly said.

He chuckled.

"I already saw what you are hiding. No need to go out," he winks, causing me to blush hard.

"And no wearing underwear," he said as he bit his lips.

"Wha- Adam!"

"Kidding Sweetheart. Of course, you'll wear just the lace underwear, I already chose what you're going to wear," he said, winking at me and rushing over to me and biting my lower lip.

He just laughs while walking to the door.

"Dress now," he commanded before closing the door.

At Mia Amore RESTO

I couldn't believe I was able to get into an expensive restaurant all over Asia. Even celebrities prefer to eat here.

"Adam, it's too expensive here."

"I don't mind," he said just looking straight.

A waiter welcomed us and asked if we had any reservations.

"Freniere," he simply answered.

The waiter suddenly looked nervous.

"H-here Sir, follow me."

"Thank you," I said as the waiter took us to our site.

Adam is not just Adam he is a powerful man. I just have this feeling that Adam didn't tell his whole personality to Mirana.

"Adam a-are you okay?" I asked as I saw him look mad.

He looks at me with a fierceness in his eyes that makes me scared.

"Why did I even pick your dress?" he said sternly, which made me frown.

"Huh? Adam, I don't get you," I asked nervously.

"Every man in here is looking at you and I hate it. Even that waiter makes my blood boil," he said angrily.

I just laugh cause he frowns.

"Why are you laughing?"

"You're too cute when you're angry and jealous," I said while giggling.

"Ohh, you think it's funny huh!"

"No, no, no," I said as I stopped myself from laughing again.

"Then what?" he spat.

"Are you jealous?" I asked, hiding my smile on my lips.

He didn't reply, instead he turned his head into another direction.

"Adam," I sang.

"Yes," he said looking at my eyes full of desire.

I swallowed my lump on my throat and he sent shivers down my spine.

"Happy now?" he said, smirking.

I felt like I was blushing.

"Don't bite your lip or else I will be the one who will bite that."

The waiter guided us to our reserved seat. and I was surprised to find so much food prepared at the table that we had not yet ordered

"Wait we didn't order yet," I muttered under my breath.

" It seems like you're not used to it, but it's always like this whenever we eat here."

"Ohh"

We eat our food silently until Adam read a quote in the tissue paper.

"Better to cry with the truth, than to be comforted with a lie," he said looking at me.

I was suddenly startled by his words

He smiled at me.

"Let's eat the food that is delicious," he said as he looked at me.

I can't read his eyes what he meant but please not what I am thinking.
