Chapter 8 Gone... Again
I quickly ran into Cr not to groom myself. My stomach was almost squirming with extreme pain and squirming. I just got on my knees, one hand holding my stomach while the other supported me so that I wouldn't end up in the closet.
"Shit!" I almost lost my strength and choked on the severe pain in my stomach and head, almost wanting to lose my soul and the coldness of my body.
It took about a few minutes before I felt a little better, I no longer felt so much cramping in my stomach, but my head still hurt. I just leaned my body on the bed pillar, I could feel the sticky liquid all over my body. I just want to sleep. I was drowsy with the misfortune happening to me. I tried to pick up the cell phone then called Mara, I don't know if she's busy now, I need to talk to her.
A few seconds later there was no answer on the other line. I forced myself to call her again and finally I could hear its deep breathing.
"M-Mara? H-Help. Are you busy? I-I can't, I'm vomiting water—" I let go of the cell phone as soon as I went back to Cr and vomited again.
I almost didn't vomit anymore. My hair was so wet from the sweat, I tried to take the towel to the side so that I could wipe my sweat. I can not take it anymore. I just felt my tears constantly flowing because of the extreme pain.
I want to call uncle, in case I'm afraid I'll be scolded again. I don't want to ask my aunts for help because I'm sure they will get angry too. I can only approach Mara. In the middle of my slow breathing and the rumble of my nervousness when I heard a loud sound coming from the living room, I carefully picked up the small knife on the side because it might be a thief. My eyes rotated as I slowly stood up to go to what it was, but I almost lost my balance and fortunately I was able to grab the door post immediately. I let go of the knife that hit my foot.
"Annika!" A male voice.
I could not see its face because of the blurring of my eyes, I could only notice the figure and it looked like it was wearing white.
"Hey! Wake up! Hold on okay?" he said softly tapping my cheek.
I finally felt my lift and my complete loss of consciousness. There were some voices I could hear, but I could not recognize who they were, I carefully moved my head, slowly opened my eyes and slowly caught sight of the two people who were already looking at me.
Keus hurried over to me and immediately grabbed what was hanging around his neck, I was still so close that I couldn't see a man on the other side of me very well. I heard their conversation but it was not clear to me what Keus was saying. I noticed him leave so I slowly looked to the other side. There my uncle opened up to me with every breath quickening when I looked at him.
"D-Do you hear me?" uncle said softly as I shook my head.
Instead of answering I raised my right hand slowly, I wanted to hold uncle, I wanted to hold his hand, I wanted to speak and tell stories. Soon after, Keus and Auntie Summer arrived. Sometimes, Auntie Summer became a nurse so I have nothing to worry about.
I was only in one room which was like a hospital the style of the room. But I had a strong feeling I was in the mansion. In the mansion we have our own clinic and Aunt Summer is the frequent caregiver. There are things that are injected into my body and sometimes even talked about, all I do is look and move my head. I don t know what s going on in my body. I've always been feeling the pain I got from the big outbreak before, so the lack of drowsiness made me even worse.
So that's how my uncle and I used to get angry every time he knew I was neglecting myself. I can't blamed him. A whole day passed that I was only in one room, surprisingly just because I wasn t talking. They often say that when my illness strikes, I can't even speak, because of trauma. Zeren always took care of me, she changed my clothes and my uncle fed me. I pity myself. I even overcame a cripple.
The next day I woke up because of two noises inside the room. I never opened my eyes because of what I was hearing. They talk to Zeke. I never again heard Lucas voice that seemed to be downstairs. Even Keus's laughter wasn't there either. It was there that I decided to get up slowly because I was already feeling back pain. There is nothing attached to my body because I just need rest. They didn't tell me what my condition is. Just take the medicine three times a day. I hate that kind of medicine. I still have a hard time casting spells.
Instead of leaving the room I sat on the terrace, where the side part of the mansion could be seen. It s just trees and there s a mini playground. It s just funny that they don t want to delete that for our future child. I just took advantage of the strong wind even when I was getting hot, regardless of the agitation of my hair to my cheeks. I briefly remembered what I had heard before. He left? When I was not visited?
I hate his smile. I hate Zeke's smile. Why is it that every time he smiles there is always a replacement... to leave. He wants me to be his friend. Funny. Fortunately, I have confidence in my intuition. They're all leaving. I stood at the barrier and then looked down. I'm in a pretty high position now so one wrong move could make me fall.
I need to exercise, to get back to my old habits. I just fell asleep and devoted a lot of time to writing, which was almost pointless. Loss of appetite. My eyes noticed the familiar car, only at school I could see that. Its plate number. I just shrugged because maybe later it would be the same. I caught sight of uncle talking on the phone, he was smiling and it looked like Veron was the one talking based on what he said earlier. Veron was able to make uncle laugh, unlike before when he had a headache. I turned around because I knew he would turn to where I was, that's how he, after talking on the phone would look somewhere as if someone was watching.
Some time later, I heard a loud knock, surprising because I was suddenly nervous because of that knock. I was about to open the door when a gay man with a white face threw up.
I laughed at him as he rolled his eyes. He always like that, makes me laugh even if sometimes he stumbles. He was wearing a polo that he often wore every time he came in, if I just didn't know him at first glance I would think he was a real man. Deceptive.
He entered the room but left the door open, he was used to it especially in my house. He was right, he was still a man. It went behind me and then pulled my hair, took a comb and then ran it through my hair.
"I thought you were dead..."
"Patricio!"
He just laughed at me and then turned to face me. Seriously, almost analyzing the detail of my hair. It was taller so I looked up at him, I almost memorized every detail of his face every day we were with him then. "
"Let's go downstairs, I just fixed you because you have a visitor," he said placing my hand on his elbow.
I frowned. "Who?"
"It's just that uncle Zenos told you to send those who are with you to the seminar so that they can tell you how you are. Maybe he also told you what to do when evil attacks you," he said with a laugh at the end as he helped me down.
I can really do it, I just don't know why they act like this. We were just at the entrance of the living room but I could already hear the conversation of others, it seemed like it was just a normal day. Lucas got up quickly and then went to my side to support me. I sat down on the sofa, the pain was just behind me. Instead of sitting down, Patricio remained standing and then combed my hair again, he was still carrying the comb.
Later I saw Keus, Uncle Zenos and Erwin. I almost cringe.
What is he doing here?
"There you go, Erwin, uncle Zenos' guest," Pat whispered, ignoring me.
Uncle stared at me while Erwin was behind him holding a paper. Is he selling me?
"How's your feeling?" Keus asked me quickly.
"There are different types of feelings, Doc," I corrected it then I saw its grin.
"Whenever you really are. Breathe well."
I did what he wanted, but it was slightly twisted and adjusted the stethoscope position.
"Are you breathing?" he removed the stethoscope from my chest.
"Does it look like you'll see me sitting here if I don't?" I replied that others laughed while some were serious.
"It's good that I'm your doctor," Keus said with a smile. "You have a weak heartbeat Niks," he said then stood up and took the paper.
I now look at Erwin who is staring at me. He arranged to sit next to Lucas. "What else are you doing here?" I asked, he was about to speak when uncle spoke immediately.
"He's the one you'll be with at the upcoming seminar, isn't he?" uncle asked as I nodded.
"I'll order you to him first. Your medicines and what time you take, what time you go to sleep. Force yourself even if you can't," he said authoritatively.
I can't do anything. If I hadn't been so careless with drugs, my uncle would have trusted me now.
"Where is Zeke?" Patricio's touch with me.
I ignored him because I didn't know either I will answer, but others have heard it.
"Is it Zeke? It's in the bikol, with his client. It might take a few months there," Lucas said quickly and Pat nodded. "Why? You miss him?" he added.
I just heard the laughter of others. He will be gone for a few months. Good. I can breathe easy.
