Missing Puzzles

Bahm's POV ⚅

Unwanted curiosity was beginning to eat me alive as we walked back to the classroom.

I held it in for as long as I could, throwing my arms around Kris's shoulders with our obnoxious vigilante of a posse huddled right outside the classroom doors, waiting for us.

Most of our young posse was a mob of rouge Witches and Wizards whom worshipped me for centuries and some whom also befriended Kris growing up in his human school. For Some, my memories did recall their faces from more than 500 years ago, others were freshly new, yet still showed high amounts of respect and loyalty.

Enough about them, it's the woman with those pleading, wide, hazel eyes, that managed to grasp my attention.

A glimpse of her sight came to view on my first day here in The Academy.

Why does Kris scold her the way he does, are they close?

Who is she?

Did she do something terrible to upset Kris in the past?

I felt the sudden shift in Kris's aura that he was struggling to supress.

Shit!

I can still even hear the woman crying all the way from the bathroom two halls down!

My hearing never focused in on a single being unwillingly, so why has her voice forced it's way into my head!!

Kris takes his seat across infront of me.

He's stiff, timid, and quiet, seems like he's nervous too.

His uncomfortableness flooded my body and he was now also avoiding my eyes.

Suddenly his eyes go wide behind me before I could ask any questions about the bathroom incident, his lips thinned and stretched in anger, then he bangs on the table furiously.

When I turned around slowly to face whatever it was making him stressed out, I was surprised to see it was the same hazel eyed Witch!

Strangely, I felt a wave of anger.

Should I get out of my seat and tell this woman to leave Kris be?

Is that being a good companion?

I don't even know their story, so I should just mind my own?...

Kris instead stands abruptly from the table and growls loudly while taking long strides towards the terrified woman who begins taking nervous steps back. She was visibly shaken.

"YOU FUCKING IDIOT!" Kris roars and I hear a group of women yelling across the room at him.

"Leave her alone Kris!"

"You asshole!"

They yelled, only fueling more into Kris's anger.

"MIND YOUR BUISNESS!!" He fiercly points at them, using his body to push the crying woman out the class doors.

Assuring the women weren't going to go after him, all three look over to me, before sitting back down in their seats too.

I could hear slamming lockers and then a small yelp leaving the woman's lips.

Would he go as far as striking this woman?

Just what has she done?

I was slightly worried he would lose control and do something out of character.

He is carrying a Demon's heart in his chest, I doubt he could handle the fury that comes along with it.

But why did she return back to the classroom after Kris?

"You wanna fucking die by my hands, why don't you listen!!"

He's heard shouting in the hall.

"B-But...

Kris please!--I--I..."

"Fucking stay away!

Or, you won't like what happens next!"

Kris hisses and the already rapid beating heart in the woman's chest continues pumping away.

"MOVE ON!

BEFORE YOU GET ME IN TROUBLE!"

He yells once more before entering back inside.

Following Kris from the doors to his chair, we all wait for him to begin speaking about the situation, but he doesn't. Instead, Kris looked everywhere in the classroom, but me.

He's very troubled.

I've never felt these emotions from him. I could tell he's been bothered since we arrived here, but I never asked why!

He's actually, been bothered since I returned from Hell.

"Is she causing you trouble?" I blurted.

"Don't worry about it...

I can handle it."

He says seconds later.

Lydia was seated next to me, rubbing my ears and paying too much attention on our conversation.

"I trust you that you can handle it, but if you ever need help staying calm, just let me know."

I reply back to him, but in our link.

He hides his anger very well.

I can feel it, but why does he hide it?

After leaving the class, I kept thinking nonchalantly about that Witch.

I don't even think about Lydia this way, I smell her Siren scent and know when she's near by, but not once have my thoughts been filled with interest about her.

I truly hated that I had a gap in my memories or else I wouldn't be so damn left in the shadows. It was as though I didn't know who I was anymore, but this supposed young Lycan companion before me, whom I created, seems to know more about me than I did.

Forcing myself to love Kris again and trust him like I saw through the memories, was beginning to become difficult.

Kris's POV ⎋

Lydia plants a kiss on Bahm's lips, making me cringe inside at the scene.

What kept me wearing my gaming face, was telling myself I was doing it all to protect everyone from the wrath Bahm might bring upon himself. My loyalty to him is was that strong.

There was no way I would let her get close to Bahm again. Not after sending him to Hell, running off with Anna and the worst part, losing his memories. I could have lost him forever!

"You sure you alright man?" Bahm mind links me.

"Yeah?..

Why?"

I scrunch my eyebrows together, tilting my head while looking at him. His narrow green eyes searches my facade.

"But, you're are still seething inside about that woman."

Fuck, he's becoming curious about her!

I need to put up an even bigger front to convince him she's no one.

"Ahh!

Yeah...

She's just a stupid Witch that I'm annoyed of, but don't worry I'm fine." Telling bits of the truth, not lying nor being detected of any trickery, but the look in Bahm's eyes, seemed as though he wanted to hear more.

"A lot of beings around here are tired of her--"

--Oh, for what?"

He quickly replies, throwing me off guard.

My heart rate increases slightly before coming up with a quick reason.

"She's...

She's...the one that made... The headquarters fall.

She didn't want to marry this one kid from her coven, so because of her, the whole council died."

Forcing the sentence to come out casually, I explained the truth differently than what really went down. It actually hurt me.

I prayed Bahm wouldn't ask anymore about her. There was no way I could handle lying so much.

The thought of losing Bahm for any reason this time around, would destroy me.

He looks me in the eyes after feeling satisfied with my truthful response.

This new Bahm minds his own.

His mindset was very mellow, understanding and relaxed like a humble King.

I was only a being carrying his heart.

"Well, try not to lose yourself to a little witch like that again.

You scared me for a second."

He finally replies in the link with a sly smirk on his face.

He's trying to accept my responses.

I shake my head and grin at him embarrassingly for how I must've sounded yelling at Hunnie and Lenah. We were now walking through the halls, towards the cafe for breakfast.

"It was usually I, that warned you not to let little witches make you lose control." Smirking, I spoke out loud, ignoring the daggers Lydia was probably sending me.

"Yeah...I saw some of those memories.

They were embarrassing!"

Bahm speaks out loud and lowers his head, but then he chuckles, embracing Lydia into a side hug, feeling her jealousy.

I couldn't lie and say I wasn't the slightest bit flustered he was showing me some kind of attention and concern.

Forever will I search for the tiniest bit of the old Bahm I knew since I was just seven years old, within the new Bahm that returned. The one I grew into a man with.

I hide my frown after seeing them kiss again, adverting my eyes to the windows lining the right side of the room. The greatest view to see the 20 ft tall giants playing soccer off in the distance. My mind wondered as I watched the ball move slowly, but I surely cut out any sudden thoughts that might appear and assured myself to keep my guard up about protecting Bahm.

At any time now, he could infiltrate my emotions and thoughts if he had the slightest bit of suspicion I wasn't being truthful with him.

A rogue witch named Gabby places a black and bubbly refreshing drink in front of me and runs her fingernails through my wavy locks.

"Cheer up baby!"

She continues running her fingers through my hair and then squeezes her body between the guys to my side, taking a seat next to me.

She, as well as many of our posse understood what had happened and was loyal enough to protect The King the same way I was instructed to do. I sent a message out before we even came to this country.

No one was to speak about Hunnie, nor mention anything about him having a mate.

They were also aware how deadly this request could turn out ot be.
