Over Protective

Cleopatra POV

I just ate quietly while they talked. Sometimes they tease me with Von because they all think I like Von. Annoying. What went through Van's mind to make that an excuse? Annoying. I'm irritated. Fuck.

"Cleopatra, isn't your saliva sour? You're not talking." Clementine commented. It was just awkward to smile.

I don't feel like talking.

"Cleo is really like that, she just wants to be quiet, and when you're with her all the time you can get used to her being quiet. She even beat the weakest woman in the world." Aphrodite said as they laughed. I ignored that. I don't know what they will say.

"It's really about you and Von, you only talk once," Leona said so I choked.

"Are you okay?" I immediately drank the water next to me and then nodded to them.

"Where are you going next?" Van asked.

"We were planning to go to the spa in case we had to take Clementine home," Leana replied.

"Ma'am here's the bill." The waiter handed the bill to Aphrodite. Aphrodite was about to take it when Van suddenly took it and paid for it.

"I should have paid," Aphrodite said to Van.

"It's me," Van said with a smile.

"But--"

"Let him go, Aphrodite, just let him go once," Leona said and stood up.

"Come on?" He asked. We all got up and walked out of the restaurant but a man had collided with Aphrodite.

"I'm sorry," Aphrodite said.

"You're not looking your way miss." Said the man. We looked at Van when he suddenly cornered the man.

"So you're saying it's her fault?" Van asked the man angrily. Aphrodite immediately intervened and removed Van's collar from the man.

"Stop." She said to Van that she was not happy with what he did. She looked at the man and bowed. "Sorry." She said and pulled Van away. I just looked at the two of them who came out of the restaurant first before following.

"I'll just buy something guys," Leana said. "I'm fine," Leona said. "Me too," Clementine added. Aphrodite and Van left the three of us opposite the restaurant.

I sat in the corner where there were chairs. I just watched Van and Aphrodite talking. Slowly away from me. I closed my eyes and turned on the loudness to hear what they were talking about.

"Van, what you did to the man isn't right." Said, Aphrodite.

"he's blaming you, Aphrodite. he's the one who crashed. he's the one with the temper tantrum." Annoyed Van said.

"But you shouldn't have raped that man. We can have a good conversation but you raised it. What if that man complained to the guards? Isn't that a bigger problem?" Aphrodite asked.

"Aphrodite I'm just protecting you."

"Van I don't need your protection. I can handle myself. I'm big and no longer young." Annoyed Aphrodite said.

Van did not answer.

"You're just making trouble Van. Next time don't repeat that because I don't need your help. Yes, I appreciate your kindness but not in this way Van."

"Aphrodite ...."

"I'll just follow Leana."

That was the last I heard. I opened my eyes and saw Aphrodite walking away from Van. While Van turned there like a fool and looked at nothingness.

For sure he was hurt by what Aphrodite said.

I could see how he wiped the tears that dripped from his eyes. I close my eyes. Here I am again and I feel sorry for him. I took a deep breath and then opened my eyes.

I looked at him. He leaned on the pole and bowed. I stood up and walked closer to him.

"I know a place where you can get all your resentment out," I said coldly. He turned to me. I could see the redness in his eyes.

"Cleopatra." He called sadly before approaching me and hugging me.

I was surprised at what he did. But I was even more surprised when my heart suddenly started beating faster. I don’t know if I will hug him back or not. Whether I push him or not. I feel sorry for him. That's all I know.

"Your friend is mad at me." He complained to me.

I hugged him back. I caressed his back.

"That's enough," I said and turned a blind eye.

It's enough to chase her Van. Stop.
