Chapter four
Allen was standing in front of her boss. She kept praying in her mind that she should not be fired. She had been so worried about her grandmother's condition that she could not concentrate at all. Before she left the hospital she was still sleeping. She had been so out of it that she had spilled the drinks. The woman did not look like an ordinary woman. She did not see her face but the dress was really expensive. What will she do if she asks her to pay?
"Sir,I'm really very sorry sir. I did not mean for that to happen. I did not mean to pour the drinks on that woman. It was just a mistàke. I'll beg her and I'll apologise to her myself. But please don't fire me. I really need this job" she pleaded. She had pleaded the same way when she asked for the job. Allen felt like the only thing that she was doing today is beg.
Derrick, the owner of the bar shook his head. He really could not understand what was going on this woman's head. She had begged him so much saying that she was going to do a good job. If not for the fact that she had such a beautiful face, he would not have bothered with her. His bar did not only sell drinks, they sold women if there was an opportunity to do so. He was sure that a woman as beautiful as Allen was going to bring him a fortune very soon but she had to mess up.
"What do you think that you are doing Allen? Do you have eyes on your head or something? You kept begging me to give you the Job saying that you were going to do well, but you are already messing up this much! You think an apology is going to cut it? Can you pay for the woman's dress if she asks you to pay?!" Derrick yelled at her. She is beautiful but really clumsy.
Allen was going to say something but then a young man walked up to them. Allen felt like her words died in her throat. How can someone be so good looking? She felt like he must be the American version of a Greek God. How can a man have such a face? Allen immediately came back to her senses. "What is going on with you Allen? Are you so bored that you can drool over a man now?" She berated herself.
Derrick's face immediately lit up in a smile. Immediately the man had walked up to them, he had seen the way that he was looking at Allen. He had his eyes fixed on her the entire time. Derrick misunderstood and immediately thought that he was interested in her. So he immediately thought of a plan to hand over to this young man. "Do you need something sir?" Derrick asked. There was a certain leer in his voice.
Paul nodded his head at Derrick to indicate that he did not want anything from him. His eyes immediately landed on Allen. He could not believe what he was seeing. Is there really such a coincidence in this world? Why is there another Joanna standing in front of him? He looked back at the table. Joanna was still there. He looked back to his front again. 'Joanna' was still standing there. What is going on? Why is there someone who looks like Joanna standing in front of him?
He stepped closer to Allen. Then he grabbed her hand at once! He had to find out what crazy madness was going on here. Why on Earth does she look like Joanna? Who on Earth is this woman? Did she get plastic surgery to look like Joanna? But which plastic surgery is so good? Besides, looking at her face, it did not look like she had been under a knife. She looked so original, just like Joan. "Who the hell you are you?!" Paul asked.
Derrick looked at Paul. He was convinced now that he was interested in the woman. Well she was pretty. If not for the fact that he was hoping to use her in the end he would have tried to get her himself. But he did not appreciate the way this man was trying to get this woman without talking to him! She works for him! "Sir, I think that we can talk about this together. You want to know who she is right? Let's go inside and talk what do you think?" He asked.
Paul sneered. He had already seen through what this man was doing. He was trying to sell a woman to him and it seemed like she did not even know about it. What does this man take him for? Someone who would take advantage of a waitress working at a bar? "I asked her a question not you!" He snapped at Derrick. Then he faced Allen. "You tell me. Who the hell are you? Why do you have this face?!" He asked.
Allen was starting to get scared. She thought that this person was trying to get her to pay for the dress that she had ruined. She really did not have the money to pay for that kind of dress. It looked like she will have to beg her way through this one again. She looked at the man. He was glaring hard at her now. Waiting for her answer. She did not have time to think about his handsamw features anymore. She had to answer his question.
"I'm, I'm, Allen Cathers. I'm really sorry that I made your friend's dress like that. I'll apologise to her in person. I really won't be able to pay for even the dry cleaning of that dress. Why don't you guys just please let this one go? I'm really sorry. I'll apologise to he in the person" Allen said. She made to walk to Joanna so she could apologise but a strong pair of hands pulled her back. She looked at the man that was still holding her. What really does he want from her.
Paul could not stop looking at this woman. He was sure that she was not a reporter. No reporter would be this sloppy anyway. But, how can she look exactly like Joanna? Joanna never said anything about having a twin sister and besides her parents already died like ages ago. There is no way that this is possible. So how come? How on Earth is there a person who looks exactly like her standing in front of him?!
"Let me ask you this one question again. Who the hell are you? I'm not talking about your name, why on Earth do you have this face? Why on Earth do you look like this?! Did you have plastic surgery? What doctor did it for you? How did you end up looking like this?!" Paul yelled at her. Actually from what he had observed, she won't be able to get surgery anyway. She can't even pay for a dress so how can she afford that? But it was the only explanation she could think of.
Allen was starting to get angry. Sure she was a waitress and sure she had ruined that woman's dress but she also had her own pride. How can this man just walk up to her and start asking her about her face? What is that question even supposed to mean? How did she end up looking like this? Did she get plastic surgery? Why on Earth will she get plastic surgery? Is that even something that she can afford in this lifetime?
Because she was still in the wrong and if she messes up she might really have to pay for the dress, Allen decided to hold back her anger. "Plastic surgery? Do you really think that it is something that I can afford? I can't even afford to pay for that dress. I did not have plastic surgery. I was born with this face? Why? Is there something wrong with my face?" Allen asked. She was really confused. Who just walks up to you and demand to know if you've had plastic surgery?
Paul wanted to grab her hand and take her to Joanna so that she would see for herself just what all this is about. How on Earth can two people look so alike? He wanted the both of them to see each other so he could find out just what this madness is about. But in the end, he decided against it. Joanna is already going through a lot already with the whole marriage thing. She really can't deal with a woman who looks exactly like her.
In the end, he had to lie. He slowly let go of Allen's hand and smiled. "I'm really sorry for being so rude to you. It's just that you look like someone that I know. That person moved away to another country and so when I saw you I was surprised. I thought that she came back without telling me. But don't worry. Now that I have a closer look at you, you are not her. You are actually very different from her. About the dress, you don't have to pay for it" Paul said. He never wanted these two women to meet. They had to stay as far away from each other as possible.
Paul nodded at Derrick telling him with his eyes that he really did not want anything to do with Allen. He just hoped that the woman would be able to protect herself. As long as she works in a place like this even if she is a waitress, this man is definitely going to try to sell her to some slob with no morals at all. She really needs to be able to protect herself from such a moral less person. Paul turned and walked to Joanna.
Allen was stuck in one spot staring at the man's back as he walked away. What just happened to her? She looks like someone that he knows? She would have liked to see that person for herself. Too bad he said that she moved out of the country. Allen sighed. Why is she worrying about other people's lives now? Well at least the good thing that came out of all of this was that she won't have to pay for the dress.
Raymond was sitting by his grandfather bed now peeling apples for him. He had taken the day off work so that he could spend time with him . Even though he was cold and ruthless to every single person out there, when he was in front of his father he was just like every other regular grandson doting on thier grandfather. He could not bear to have an arrogant attitude in front of his grandfather.
John, Raymond's grandfather was happy that his plan to get Raymond to listen to him was working. He knew that as long as his health was concerned, his grandson would do anything to make sure that he got well. And he was going to use that against him now. He was already tired of begging this kid to find a wife. He will have to force him to get married now. Bedsides, he already had a wonderful candidate in mind.
Joanna Anderson, she was not like all those other rich women who were grommed from the start to get married to rich men. Even though she came from a relatively well to do family, her parents had died when she was young and her uncle did not really treat her well. Infant, she is a woman who has been responsible for herself from the start. Such a woman, she can be a big support for his son. And she had already made a name for herself as an actress.
He really wanted Raymond to marry this woman. And he was willing to do anything to make that a reality. "Raymond, you really don't have to waste time here doing these things. I'm just an old man who is going to die sooner or later. I just have one wish before I die. I want to see the grandson that I spent much effort to raise get married and have his own family. That is the only thing I want. Can't you do that for me son?" John asked.
Raymond scoffed. He already knew, that his grandfather was up to something.
His substitute bride
