CHAPTER 8

Hopes eyes retaliated as Ronan, and, his mysterious woman both shot their horrid eyes at the door to where Hope was standing, paranoid from the disbelief.

"Hope...." Ronan gasped out as he moved away from the woman and got to the edge of the bed, looking completely shocked and terrified that his wife had caught him cheating after all.

Hope's fingers clenched onto the door handle as her brows drew closer together with her tears blurring her vision almost instantly. Her whole body began to shake at the thought and she couldn't hold back from the anger, confusion and feeling of utmost betrayal filling up her entire body.

Ronan and Hope hadn't been long together, as a matter of fact, they had just lasted about five years together since their mating ceremony. Since she had been busy with training as she was the heir to becoming the alpha, they never thought about having children of their own and neither of them brought up the topic for it. So Hope merely assumed that he just wasn't ready for to become a father just yet as they weren't that much older.

Ronan and hope never really went as far as the weeks before the mating ceremony. They only stared at each other from a distance and didn't really approach each other until three weeks before the ceremony did Ronan decide to finally approach her and begin making his move towards her, just so he could accept him during the mating ceremony and he would become her mate for eternity. It was a perfect plan for Ronan since Hope was beautiful and strong and the most admired woman in the entire pack. She was well-known with everyone and always seemed to attract a low of male attention but no male approached her because they feared rejection, since she seemed to omit a dominating aura. However, Ronan only saw it as the best reason to go for it and ask her to become his mate and her willingly accepting since he was the son of rich man and was very polite to her. Ronan was everything to Hope and much more. He was almost flawless and just too perfect to be real.

At least that was what she had always believed him to be. A flawless man who would stay by her side even after they both died, but, his true self had always been hidden from her and she had just accidentally revealed his many skins.

Ronan wasn't a loyal man as far as she can see for herself. He was a liar.

"How many?" Hope asked through gritted teeth as she burned her eyes towards Ronan who glanced away in embarrassment. "HOW MANY!?"

"Look, I'm sorry. I can explain-"

"Explain what?" Hope thundered in anger as she clenched the door handle even tighter to the point her palm turned red. "Explain what, Ronan?" She hissed out. "I don't think you need to explain anything!"

"You've been so busy and you hadn't been paying attention to me. What was I supposed to do?" He asked and she widened her eyes in shock.

"Oh, so you're throwing in the victim card. Aren't you?" She chuckled out forcefully and waved her hands in the air. "You want to blame me for finding out you're cheating, huh?" She asked. "You knew I was becoming an alpha and that you wouldn't move freely around like you used to without people questioning who you're with, so you decided you'd sneak out and have someone behind my back. You know, your sister pretty much gave you in."

"She... Told you?" Ronan's face shifted from his scared look to pure rage. "She snitched on me!?"

"Don't you yell at me about her!" Hope thundered. "She pretty much made it so obvious you were up to something. She insisted I didn't have to meet you right this instant but after a while because you were so 'busy' talking to other men. I initially thought that maybe you were just figuring out a way to surprise me somehow, that maybe you were thinking of some way to give me a gift. But no, you're in bed with another woman." She batted her eyes quickly as she tried to remove the tears in her eyes that threatened to fall. She took in a sharp breath and sighed out shakily as she glanced at the ground. "I really hoped you would be figuring out something special for me. But I guess it was best I found out what you were up to. Otherwise.... I would have been living a lie for the rest of my life." She ran her hand across her face as she stepped out of the room

"Wait, Hope-" before he could finish, Hope shut the door and bit onto her lower lip as she tried to resist the urge to cry out.

The sound of footsteps echoing from behind the door alerted her as she leaned from it and sprinted into the corridor and away from the room just as the door opened with a shirtless Ronan stepping out.

"Hope! Wait!" That was the last she could hear him say as she turned sharply at a corner and away from his sight as she made it up the stairs and towards a door that led to the back garden that didn't have anyone in it at the moment.

The garden was only for the family members as some of the trees and rose beds once lived off the bodies of the great alpha's that brought the blood war down to its knees. As per their request, they wanted to have their bodies fused into the roots of either trees or flowers.

Hope stepped into the garden and closed the glass door behind her softly as her teats broke out of her eyelids and slid down her cheeks. Failing to hide her truly devastated emotions. She wanted the ground to open up and swallow her right then and there. She wanted all this to be a mere dream she would wake up from. No, not a dream. There was no way something this traumatic could be a dream.

It was a living nightmare.

A nightmare she badly wanted to wake up from and be happy once more as she was a few moment back.

She wanted to feel happy.... Being an alpha and having a flawless husband. A loyal flawless husband that she once knew was now just a faded dream. A faded lie that had to be unraveled.
