Chapter 2: Her Father's Accusation

One month quickly passed since that tragic night she encountered.

Today, Kendra kneeled before her father, Robert Miller, in the living room of their house. Robert felt so irritated.

"How could you do that? I raised you up decently! You didn't give me anything back but a bastard! How dare you sleep with a random man so casually?" Robert shouted, and veins popped out in his forehead.

"Dad, I didn't sleep with anyone. I don't have a bastard." Kendra insisted stubbornly. She had no intention to accept her father's accusation.

"Stop lying to me!" Robert yelled and threw some paper to Kendra, "Explain to me! A clear medical report containing your name. Are you blind not to see your name on it? It said you are pregnant!"

Kendra looked at the paper on the ground and felt so shocked when she saw the words "PREGNANCY REPORT" in a bold caption.

"Kendra, did it belong to you?" Kendra's stepmother, Marga, walked downstairs and asked, "I found it in your room's dustbin." She held a pregnancy test stick and walked to Kendra excitedly.

Before Kendra said anything, Robert slapped Kendra's face and cursed, "Damn it! You are going to marry in a month! Now you are pregnant? I bet you don't know who the father is! How can I explain everything to your fiancé?"

"Dad, this is not true. I need to go to the hospital and redo the pregnancy examination again." Holding her swollen face, Kendra said calmly.

"Kendra, I found this report and pregnancy test stick inside your room. Do you really need to check again? Just admit it. It's okay." Marga urged her.

"Mom, stop." Kendra's sister, Bianca, came in and said, "Dad, maybe it's just a mistake. How can Kendra have a baby suddenly? We should be cautious before accusing her. It will ruin our family's reputation once the public discovers this one." She walked to Kendra and helped her stood up.

"Bianca!" Marga glared at Bianca and said, "Come here and shut up! It's none of your business."

"Mom!" Bianca said unwillingly.

"Come here!" Marga said and pulled Bianca to her. Kendra fell down again when Bianca left her side.

"Robert, what should we do now? If Michael's family knew it, they might get angry." Marga's voice came mocking, and she acted worriedly. Soon, she clapped her hands and said, "Anyway, Michael has been abroad for years. He doesn't know who Kendra is. Why don't we let Bianca marry him instead? Maybe it's a good solution for this problem."

"What?" Bianca looked at her mother surprisingly, and couldn't believe what she heard.

"Shut up!" Marga stared at Bianca sharply, followed with a warning glare. Then, she looked at Robert and said again, "I think it's our only choice. If Michael finds out the truth after he comes back, we are done."

Robert stared at Kendra madly and thought for a while. Finally, he nodded and replied, "We don't have a choice at all."

Kendra looked at her parents shockingly, and painfully she said, "Marga, this is your plan, right?"

Marga faked a pregnancy report and put it in her room. Then, she faked a pregnancy test stick with a positive result. She just wanted to set Kendra up.

"What are you talking about?" Marga walked to Kendra and slapped her face, shouting, "How can you say that? I have been so kind to you these years. It's okay if you don't appreciate it, but how can you blame me for your fault?"

Kendra covered her swollen face and cried. "It must be you! You planned everything! I am not pregnant!" Kendra shouted terribly. She was sure that she was not pregnant. Where did that report come from? It must be Marga!

"Kendra!" Robert held Marga and shouted, "I will kick you out now if you say one more word to your mother!"

Fine, Robert abandoned her mother years ago, and now he wanted to abandon her too. Kendra felt so desperate and helpless.

"Dad, don't be angry. Kendra just made a mistake." Bianca stood in front of Kendra and protected her, "Kendra, just apologize to dad. We are family. We will help you."

"Apology?" Kendra sneered, "What did I do wrong? I said I am not pregnant. I don't know where this report came from, and our father didn't trust me at all. I wish we were not family."

"Damn!" Robert shouted in anger and lifted his whip, beating Kendra without any mercy.

Kendra screamed painfully.

Bianca also kneeled before Robert and begged, "Dad, please stop! Don't hurt Kendra!"

Marga rushed to Bianca and pulled her up. "What's wrong with you? I said it's none of your business! Go back to your room." She yelled at her.

Robert kept whipping Kendra. After a few seconds, Kendra started bleeding. She stood up and hid behind a vase to avoid Robert's whip.

Suddenly, Robert whipped fell on the vase, and it fell down, breaking into pieces. Robert stared at the pieces and said, "Do you know how expensive it is? Stupid child!" He whipped Kendra again.

Kendra avoided Robert's whip and shouted madly, "You are not my father. A father won't be like you. You were fooled by Marga and made my mom die. Now you hurt me because of her. I hate you! I hate you!"

"You hate me? You are nothing if I am not your father! You son of a bitch!" Robert also shouted and kept whipping at Kendra fiercely.

Kendra tried to avoid it, but she was still injured. Bianca ran to Robert and held him, begging, "Dad, please! If Kendra is really pregnant, the child will die if you continue to hurt her!"

"And I wish it will die! What can it bring us except for scandal?" Robert said.

"I am not pregnant! Why don't you believe me?" Kendra shouted hysterically, "You are a devil!"

"You…" Robert wanted to beat Kendra again, but Bianca wouldn't let him, so he could only curse, "I should have never let your mother give birth to you! Fine, since you said I am not your father, you can leave here today. From now on, I have nothing to do with you!"

Hearing Robert' words, Kendra felt heartbroken and almost fell down again.

"Go! Leave here now!" Robert whipped at Kendra for the last time and shouted.

Kendra glared at her father and said, "Fine, I will leave here today, and I will never come back! From now on, you are not my father anymore, and I owe you nothing." She didn't avoid the last whip her father made.

"Kendra!" Bianca called Kendra's name worriedly and wanted to stop Kendra, but Marga grabbed Bianca's arm tightly and said, "Bianca, she wanted to leave! She doesn't consider us as her family at all! Just let her go!"

"But…" Bianca wanted to say something else.

"Let her leave," Robert yelled. He had made up his mind to kick Kendra out. "She is not my daughter, and her bastard had nothing to do with us!" He stared at Kendra's back and said cruelly.

It was raining heavily outside. Kendra walked out of her home and looked so confused. Her skin was full of wounds and bruises. When the rain poured at her wounds, Kendra felt so much pain.

There were only a few people in the street, but the rain was too heavy, and no one cared about Kendra at all.

Kendra struggles to walk ahead, but she could barely move. She had lost all her strength. Kendra looked around blankly and felt so cold. She couldn't feel any warmth or hope at this moment.
