Chapter 3
Aurora POV
"Are you sure you are okay, Aurora?" John asked as he drove us home.
"I am fine; I just have a headache," I replied.
"Did those pills not help?" John asked.
"Not really; I am just going to lie down," I said.
"That's a good idea. I will check on you later," John said, and I went to my room to take a nap.
As I lay in my bed, I couldn't help but think about the guy I saw in the bathroom at school today with that female. For some reason, it hurt me that he was with her. Why? I don't even know his name. Why do I feel like he betrayed me in some way? I tried to take my mind off of him but couldn't. Finally, I fell asleep, but as I slept, all I saw was the blue-eyed guy.
"Aurora," John called, and I opened my eye.
"Hey, we need to go talk to the owner of this house," John said.
"Okay," I said and sat up on the bed.
"Where are we meeting them at?" I asked.
"They are downstairs. One of them was the guy in the nurse's office when I came to pick you up."
"Really," I asked.
"Yeah, he is the owner of this house and my boss, but his parents also want to meet you."
"Alright, I will get ready," I said and walked to the bathroom in my room.
I was happy that I was going to meet the guy from school and felt I needed to look nice. But I didn't understand why I felt a strange connection with him. It was just this morning that I saw him fucking another female.
"I must be going crazy," I thought to myself.
After getting ready, John and I took the elevator down and went into a huge kitchen. When we walked in, I saw a woman and a man that looked to be in their forties. I could see the back of someone's head sitting in the chair across from them, but I couldn't see their face.
"Hello, sweetheart; you must be John's little sister, Aurora, right?" The woman said.
"Yes, Hello, Mrs," I said.
"You can call me Cheryl, and this is my husband, Brandon. We are so happy you are finally here," Cheryl said.
"Thank you," I said to John, and I walked over to the couch in the corner and sat down.
"And this is our son, Blake," Cheryl said.
"Hello, Aurora. I believe we met earlier at school. How are you feeling?" Blake asked.
"Hello, I am fine. I guess I was just exhausted from the move," I said, and I could see an expression on Blake's face that confused me. He looked sad about something but immediately hid it with a smile.
"Well, I am happy you are better now," he said, and I smiled.
"A girl walked in that seemed to be about my age. She had the same blue eyes and Blond hair as Blake.
"Aurora, this is our daughter Brandy, Brandy, this is Aurora," Cheryl said.
"Hello, Aurora, you have the most beautiful green eyes," Brandy said.
"Thank you, Brandy," I said and smiled.
"Why don't we all go out to eat in the city? In honor of Aurora's arrival," Blake said.
"That sound like a great idea. Let's all get ready and meet down here in about an hour," Cheryl said, and we all agreed.
"I went to my room and changed into a green sundress. It was short and showed off my curves. Once John and I were dressed and ready, we went to meet everyone downstairs. Blake's eyes were on me, roaming my body as soon asJohn and I made it to the living room.
"You are so beautiful, Aurora," Blake said.
"Thank you," I replied.
"Alright, let's go," John said, and I walked outside with him.
"I was wondering if it was okay for Aurora to ride with me?" Blake asked.
"I am capable of driving my sister," John said, seeming annoyed about something.
"Well, why don't we ask her? Aurora, who would you like to ride with?" Cheryl asked.
I looked at Blake and really wanted to ride with him. It was like I wanted to be with him, but when I thought about walking in with him and that girl, I began feeling a pain in my chest, the same pain I felt this morning.
"I will ride with my brother," I said and got in the passenger side. But I didn't miss the painful look on Blake's face from me not choosing to ride with him.
"So, Blake is your boss and best friend?" I asked.
"Yes," John said.
"What is it that you do?" I asked.
"We work in security. Blake is the owner, and you can say that I am his second in command. It is a family business that goes back generations," John said.
"Oh, okay, that sounds like a lot of responsibility for the both of you," I said.
"It is, but we are good at what we do," John said.
We were quiet throughout the ride until we reached the Italian Restaurant. When we arrived, we all walked in together. Brandy sat on one side of me while Blake quickly sat on my other side. I noticed the glare that John threw his way.
"I wanted to say I am sorry about your mother's passing. John told me that is why you came to stay with us," Cheryl said.
"Yes, and thank you," I said.
"You must miss her very much," Blake said.
I turned and saw him staring at me. It was hard for me to turn away from him.
"I do," I said, feeling the pain I always felt when I think about my mom not being here anymore. Besides John, she was my only family.
"If you ever want to talk, I am here," Blake said and placed his hand on mine. I couldn't help the gasp that came through my mouth when our hands met. Sparks ran through me from the hand he was touching to my arms. I know I should, but I didn't want to move away from his touch. It was soothing me, making me feel the pleasure I had never felt before.
Someone cleared their throat, which caused me to look away from Blake. I looked up and saw Brandy and Chery smiling at the two of us while John was glaring daggers into Blake's head.
"Do you know what you want to eat, Sis?" John asked.
"Not yet," I said and began to look at the menu.
"There, Lasagna is to die for," Cheryl said.
Once the waiter came, we ordered our food and began eating. I noticed Blake looking at me occasionally, but I tried my best not to look at him. I knew that it would be hard to look away if I looked into his eyes. Brandy and I began conversing through dinner, and I found out we both had a lot in common. I knew that we were going to become good friends.
"Blake, Baby," I heard a feminine voice say, and I turned to see the same woman he was in the school bathroom with at school.
