Chapter 7

Aurora's POV

"Damn girl, I didn't know you had it in you," Brandy said as we walked out of the locker room.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"You told Tanya off. Not many have done that," Brandy said.

"Why," I asked.

"Because her family is kind of important around here. Most are scared that they will upset her twin brother if they mess with her," Brandy said.

"I'm not scared of her or her brother," I said.

"The Moon Goddess definitely knows what she is doing," Brandy said.

"Who," I asked.

"Nothing, just thinking to myself," Brandy said, and we sat on the bleachers. Tanya came out of the locker room and sat on the opposite side of Brandy and me.

"Okay, class, we are going to play a friendly game of Volleyball. This side of the bleachers will be against that side," the teacher said, and we all walked over to our teams.

I was happy because I was on Brandy's team. We began playing the game. A girl served the ball from the other team, and a girl from our group hit it back over the net. Tanya hit the ball hard, sending it to me, and I quickly hit the ball, sending it back over the net. I could tell Tanya was upset that I was able to get the ball back over the net, and a smile came on my face.

We kept playing the game, and it was almost time to end the game. Our team was only losing by one point. Tanya served the ball, and Brandy hit it back over the net. Tanya hit the ball again directly toward me, but the ball was going faster than usual. Before I could hit the ball, it hit me in my head, making me fall to the ground.

"Aurora, are you alright?" Brandy asked. I was feeling a little out of it. I could see little black spots in my eyes.

"I am fine," I said and tried to stand but immediately fell because the room began to spin. I placed my hand on my head and let out a groan.

"I am going to take you to the nurse," Brandy said.

"She needs to go to the nurse from a little hit on the head. She is definitely a weak one," I heard Tanya say, which pissed me off. I would have told her about herself if my head weren't hurting, but I was in too much pain to respond.

"Shut up, Tanya. Wait until my brother finds out what you did," Brandy said.

"He will be happy that I showed him how weak she is," Tanya said.

"That is enough, Tanya. Brandy, take Aurora to the nurse's office," the gym teacher said.

"Okay," Brandy said, but someone began to speak before she could help me up.

"What happened to Aurora?" I heard Blake ask. I tried to look at him, but there appeared to be two of him as I looked at him.

"Tanya hit her with a Volleyball in the head," Brandy said.

"What," Blake asked.

"It was an accident, Baby. Besides, I didn't hit her hard. So it's not my fault she is weak," Tanya said, and Blake growled. I flinched at the sound. I had never heard a person growl like that before.

"How dare you talk about my Mate like that?" Blake said, and I heard gasps all through the gym.

"Blake," Tanya started, but Blake cut her off.

"I don't want to hear anything you have to say. You knew better than to hurt her," Blake growled.

"Blake, calm down. Aurora is hurt. You need to take care of Aurora first," Brandy said, and Blake sighed.

"You are right," Blake said, and then I gasped in shock when he picked me up bridal style.

"Blake, I can walk," I said.

"I am not risking it. You might pass out if you walk," Blake said and left the Gym with me in hi sarms. I held onto him tightly, not wanting to fall on the floor. He opened the nurse's office door, went into a room, and sat me on a bed.

"What happened this time?" Tabatha asked.

"She was hit in her head with a Volleyball," Blake said.

"Let me take a look," Tabatha said, and she began to look at my head.

"Well, you have a big lump on your head. You might have a concussion. I will call your brother and let him know what has happened and that he can pick you up from school," the nurse said.

"Okay," I said.

"That's unnecessary; I can take her,' Blake said. It looked like they were having a conversation only the two could hear for a moment, and then the nurse looked at me.

"Do you mind if Blake takes you home?" she asked.

"No," I said. We lived in the same house, so I wasn't worried. Plus, I trusted that he wouldn't hurt me for some reason, even after seeing him with a girl having sex. Any sane person would stay clear of him. But I guess I wasn't normal.

"Alright, be careful going home, and you need to make sure that someone monitors you through the night."

"Okay," I said.

"Let's go," Blake said and then picked me up bridal style and began walking to his car.

"I told you I can walk," I said.

"I know, beautiful, but I need to keep you safe and away from harm. If I let you walk and you pass out, I will not be doing a good job," He said.

"What are you talking about? Did John tell you to look after me?" I asked, but he didn't answer.

"Aurora, Blake," Brandy called, and Blake stopped walking.

"What did the nurse say?" Brandy asked.

"That she might have a concussion and someone needed to watch to make sure she didn't pass out. She also said that Aurora could go home," Blake said.

"I will go with you," Brandy said and hopped into the backseat.
