Tragedy 6

“Move.”

Ralf Young yelled out to his boys.

“All right, boss.”

His men responded before they rushed to the scene of the accident. Now, Dr. Williams had run out of the clinic and rushed to the accident scene, too. He looked at the three men on the floor and motioned to the ambulances.

“Get the stretcher, quickly.”

In a jiffy, the ambulance attendants arrived with the stretchers, and picked the victims, laid them carefully on the stretcher and moved them to Dr. Williams’s helicopter.

“Dr. Brooklyn. Take care of the victims. The ambulance attendants know what to do.”

“It is alright, Doctor.”

Replied the angry Dr. Brooklyn, who felt slighted that such a thing could happen in his domain. Dr. Williams joined them in the helicopter and the pilot flew off.

Now, Mr. Ferguson could not report to anyone else except the International Vice Chairman. Then he gave him a call. By the Time Zone, it was already 10:30 pm and Mr. Ken Israel had just rested his head to catch a sleep after berating the Works Department Manager when his phone rang. He jolted at once, looked at the caller and picked.

At Mr. Ken Israel’s House in Nigeria

“Hello, Mr. Ferguson. How may I help you?”

“Hello, Boss. The Chairman’s helicopter had just been attacked, and they have been rushed to the Medical Center.”

“What? At where?”

“At the Island. We came for inspection.”

“Did you say ‘they’? How many of them were in the aircraft?”

“The three of them. The Chairman, the purple Tag Chairman and the CSO.”

Now, Mr. Ken Israel felt his world crumbling. He looked at his wife who was sleeping peacefully by his side and looked back to his phone. When Mr. Ferguson did not hear from him, he spoke.

“Hello, boss. Are you there?”

Then, Mr. Israel recollected himself and dismissed Mr. Ferguson.

“Thank you for the information, Mr. Ferguson.”

He cut the call and recalled when his wife was kidnapped and thrown out of a helicopter a few years ago, and tears began to flow freely down to his cheeks. Then, Mr. Morris and Jeff stood by his side and made things easier for him. Now, he was left with three women to pacify. He got off the bed and walked to the washroom and cried his heart out before he composed himself and walked back to the room.

“Dora.”

He called as he tapped his wife. He observed her beautiful face before he called out her name again.

“Dora, wake up. We are leaving for Toronto.”

Dora woke up with a start and looked at her husband whose voice was down and asked.

“Ken. What is the matter?”

He put the story mild to avoid startling her.

“One of our aircraft at the headquarters was attacked. Father needs my attention.”

“Oh! When are we leaving?”

“At once.”

“It is all right. Cheer up, hubby. Everything will be fine”

Mr. Israel had an inner joy for the wisdom to relay the message as though it was not a serious matter. Then, he sent messages to the General Manager, Mr. Gabriel Johnson and the Medical Director, Mr. Promise Dike and ended with.

(My wife is not aware of it yet.)

Dr. Dike, who was still awake, was shocked. He had the urge to meet him at the Residential Area at once, but when he remembered that his presence may startle his wife, he simply sent a message at once.

(Be strong. We will talk when you arrive.)

(Thank you.)

Then, he put calls across to the company pilots and Mr. Ahmed Nura and informed them that they would leave for Toronto immediately. They were astonished but complied. When Mr. Ahmed Nura got the news, he took his orderly along. In the next thirteen hours, they were at Toronto.

At the Island

Meanwhile, when the Lieutenant ordered his men to move, they rushed to the direction of the gunshot and began to comb the bush. Now, the disgruntled Dr. Brooklyn, who was once the infamous king of the jungle, signaled to his boys who repented alongside him and are now working in the construction site. They were conversant with the nooks and the crannies of the island, so, it was easy for them to round up the bush at once.

“Boss, we got him.”

The boys announced as they walked to the Lieutenant, who ensured that the helicopter flew out of danger with a man whose hands were handcuffed at the back. Then he ordered.

“That is good. Take him to the van.”

While they were walking to the van, Dr. Brooklyn and his men came to join them with five masked men whom they captured around the area as they were trying to flee.

“Sit.”

He ordered. The masked men sat on the floor in trepidation. Then, he turned to Ralf and explained.

“We captured them as they were trying to flee. The towing van will go and get their vehicle.”

Mr. Brooklyn announced as he handed them over to the Lieutenant.

“That is a good one. Thank you.”

Meanwhile, Ralf looked at the masked men, whose appearances seemed familiar, too. Then in a rage he ordered his men.

“Remove their masks.”

In a jiffy, they peeled off their masks and when their faces were revealed, they screamed at once.

“What?”

Now, Ralf Young and his men had seen the faces of the people behind the mask, and they were disappointed.

At the Morris Ancestral Manor.

Leon returned to the manor after he left the Industrial Area and informed his grandma, Jessica Murray whom he addressed as grandma and address her husband as Mr. Morris, that he left Mr. Morris and Jeff at the Industrial Area.

“Are they still on with the meeting?”

“Yes, grandma.”

“It is okay.”

Then, Leon walked to his room to take a rest and later dozed off. He woke up at dinner and discovered that Jeff was not back yet. He walked downstairs and met only the grandmother at the dining table.

“Good evening, grandma.”

“Good evening, Leon. We may have our dinner without them. They will have theirs when they come back.”

“It is all right.”

Nevertheless, Mr. Robert and Adline, the head chief and the assistant, served the dinner and returned to the kitchen. Afterwards, they set out to serve the domestic staff members.
