Dragons Are Real

"You are definitely not crazy, and neither are you dreaming. What you are seeing right now, is all real." Mrs Hardy whispered in my ear, I am at loss for words. I don't know what to say.

"Don't you want to say hi, let's go closer." Mrs Hardy said smiling. She grabs my hand and lead me to the field.

She stops in front of a really old dragon, like really old... I don't need anyone to tell me this particular dragon is great-gran. "I thought you would have fainted, the ones before you did faint even though they already knew about magic. And you that didn't believe a thing about magic, is still standing." He said weekly.

"You can actually talk." I exclaimed in surprise.

"Yes of course, I'm still a human." He chuckled. If I am to understand dragon face, I can tell he is trying to smile or he is already smiling.

"Yeah, I guess so." I agreed, staring at his skin with so much wonder, the scale... and how they fold is such an amazement to me.

"So... the others before me, knew they were witches and wizard already. They knew about magic?" I ask, playing what he had said earlier in my head. the ones before you did faint even though, they already knew about magic

"Yes. You are the only descendants of Arkalis that doesn't know about magic. Although we did meet descendants that doesn't have an ounce of magic, but they knew magic was real." Mrs Hardy explained.

"Hmm, but I just don't get it. Why is it that none of my relatives ever came for me or my parents? Since they all had magic, they could at least have track me down. Why was I even abandoned infront of an orphanage." I felt sad and angry that no one ever came for me during my stay in the orphanage.

Didn't they like me?

I can't seem to think of any reason they would have left me to suffer in an orphanage.

"I would have love to say something, but I think it's better you hear it from your aunt and uncle." Mrs Hardy said. I stared at her confused and shocked, "My uncle and aunties?"

"Yes, you would be meeting with them very soon. But for now, I think there's a certain blue eye dragon waiting for you over there." She points at a dragon a little bit far from us. Just the eyes alone, tells me who the dragon is. Blue eyes.

I walked over to him, he couldn't even let me get closer to him before he said... "So, do you still think I should go see a therapist. Or like you said it, check my self in a mental hospital."

"Yeah, funny." I rolled my eyes.

"I wasn't trying to be funny." He retorts, chuckling. It is so weird talking to him this way, dragon to human.

"Fine, you were right. But you can't blame me for not believing you." I defended myself.

"I guess you are right. If I was you, I would have definitely called the cops on you." He laughed.

"You see... and this means I handled the situation much more maturely." I grinned.

"I guess so."

"Anyway, you really do look good as a dragon." I compliments, my hand rubbing his back.

"Thanks. You want a ride." I can't tell if blue eyes was actually grinning, but I think he was.

"You want me to get on your back." I asked him, just to be sure I heard right.

"Yes, get on my back." He lowered his body really low to the ground, and I happily obliged his wish.

I got on his back and stayed close to his neck, I just stayed the way Daenerys in games of thrones does it. I love that movie so much.

"You ready?" He asked.

"Yeah." I replied.

Without any much hesitation he takes up into the air, or should I say fly. I almost had an attack, i felt like my heart dropped to the bottom of my stomach. I have never been in a plane, and now I am riding a dragon.

He flew me around the mansion, I guess I shouldn't be calling it a mansion but a castle. So yeah, blue eyes flew me around the castle and the whole compound-like-estate, twice.

"Wow, I feel... a little.. bit dizzy." I slurred on my words, getting down from blue eyes back. I fell to the ground in a thud, Luckily for me I landed on my back. I stared at the sky and started laughing out really loud.

"What's with you." Blue eyes asked looking down at me.

"Everything just feel so unreal. I can't believe I just rode on a dragon back. Hell! I can't believe I'm a witch. This is all to crazy."

"Yeah I get it... although not really, but I understand how you feel right now."

I sat up, "You do? How?" I stared at him with so much attention.

"You know the men in my family doesn't actually become a dragon till our eighteen birthday..."

I guess this explains the little boys and teenagers I can still see running around, I was too occupied by life dragons, that I didn't ask about it.

"Right from childhood, all I have been getting prepared for is how to live my life as a dragon and to be able to adjust. Sometimes, I wish I could go to school like the kids outside this gigantic gate, i felt like I couldn't control my own life and it was just spinning out of my reach. And then bam, I turned 18 and now there's no way I can relate with the world outside with this whole dragon thing. I just wish to be normal." He lays on the ground on his stomach, I went on to climb his back and lay on it.

"Yeah, this whole thing is definitely spinning out of my hand. I can't believe that dragons are real. Still feels like I'm in some kind of dream. And I'm sorry about your childhood, I hope I really am who you guys said I am, and that I can actually put an end to this whole dragon stuff. Then I will be happy to show you all the good places in California." I punched him lightly on the back, even though I am really sure he wouldn't feel a thing.

"Thanks. I can't wait."

We both lay under the sun in silence, then I decided to break it.

"I need to ask, how is it possible that nobody ever find out about you guys. I know this is far from civilization, but at least someone would have to at least get a glimpse of you guys flying, and also... satellite, should have at least caught you guys also."

"That is because this place is kind of protected with magic. A human can't find it, unless if he/she was brought here by one of us... or was specifically invited here." He explained, and I ooh in reply. I guess that makes sense.

Blue eyes and I gisted for a while, and just when I decided to go in and get water... Mrs Hardy called for me.

"Mrs Hardy, you called." I said standing in front of her.

"Yeah, your relatives are here." She answered.

"My relatives are here! Like they are inside the house right now?" My whole body was going into total chaos.

"Yes, they are waiting for you inside." Mrs Hardy replied simply. Can't she see I'm on a fricken nervous/shocked roll here.

I don't know if I am really ready to see or meet with them. But is either now or never.

"Okay, take me to them. I'm ready to meet them." I said to Mrs Hardy, putting on my invincible coat of bravery.

Mrs Hardy led me inside the house, and to like a small sitting room. An overly dressed woman, and a man who looked like he walked out of a Tv show, were waiting for me right inside the sitting room.

"Oh my, no way... Anastasia." The woman called out with so much warmth, she takes a hold of both my hand but I set them freed. I can't be playing emotional games with the people who didn't even care to check on me once.

"I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have done that. I was just so overwhelmed when I saw you, you look so much like your mother." On hearing Mother I tilt my head towards her.

"You know my mum? Where is she? Is she here?" I got so much excited, that all I could do was look around for a an older me. She did say I look like my mum.

"Ohh Anastasia. Your mum is dead."

"What?"
