Chapter 9: Seduces Me

-=Yesha's Point of View=-

I still can't believe my lie was exposed so quickly, and this time I blame Angie!

I can already imagine Xavier laughing at me, and the worst part is that the person behind me didn't help me at all; he could have simply warned me that Xavier was behind me earlier, but he didn't.

I had the impression that no one was on my side anymore, and that everyone was on Xavier's.

When we eventually reached home, I was exhausted, and after parking my bike in front of our house, I headed inside, completely ignoring Dustin.

I went to my room to get my toiletries and a change of clothes, and then I headed straight to the bathroom.

I was about to shut the bathroom door when I heard Dustin.

"Wait a minute, Yesha!" He yelled.

"What now? What do you want?" I asked, still irritated with him.

"Do you and Xavier have a romantic relationship?" He asked, smiling, but instead of receiving an answer from me, he found himself facing the door as I slammed it in his face.

"The nerve of him to ask me such a question, and to think he didn't even help me," I muttered to myself, even while I was having a bath.

I tried to wash away the aggravation I was feeling as a result of all the problems in my life, particularly my complication with my boss.

"God! Why won't he leave me alone?!" I asked myself over and over, but I couldn't come up with a satisfactory answer, even after I had completed having a bath.

I finally stepped out of the bathroom after drying myself and putting on my house clothes.

When I realized that Dustin's accent was making it difficult for my mother to understand him, I couldn't help but chuckle.

Don't get me wrong, she could understand English, but Dustin's thick British accent was making it difficult for her to understand him.

I had intended to watch them in silence, but my mother noticed me, and I could see the relief on her face as if she had found a lifesaver.

"Good thing you're here, dinner's almost ready," she added before leaving without waiting for a response from me.

"Hey, Dustin, you should take a bath first, dinner's almost ready," I replied as I sat in the empty seat.

"Finally, it's very hot here in the Philippines," he said as he removed his shirt and entered the bathroom.

Because of Dustin's familiarity with me and my mother, I could only sigh internally; he was only here for a couple of days, but he's so at ease that he could pull his shirt off without hesitation.

I went to check on my mother and found her still busy in the kitchen, with a faint smile on her face when she spotted me.

"It's a good thing you arrived on time since I couldn't understand what your half-brother was saying," she joked.

"I noticed," I replied, jokingly, which elicited a pinch from her.

After suppressing my laughter, I offered to help her, but she promptly rejected my offer and told me that I have no idea about kitchen matters.

But I didn't take it to heart, because she was correct: I had neither talent nor knowledge for cooking.

Mom had finished cooking in fifteen minutes, and I had just noticed Dustin sitting in the dining room.

"Many thanks for the meal!" Dustin said happily, and without waiting for an invitation, he began to dig in.

I couldn't stop smiling as I watched Dustin eat his dinner with gusto, and when my mom and my eyes locked, I knew we were both thinking the same thing.

It's a joy to witness Duston appreciate Filipino food; even though he's British, he ate everything my mother made for us.

"You two should go to bed early, and I'll clean the dishes," mom suggested as she gathered the dirty dishes and carried them to the sink.

I went upstairs to my room. and tried to sleep, but even after lying down for more than an hour, I couldn't sleep, so I chose a seat near the window and gazed out the window.

Even though it was late, there were still a number of people outside, either gossiping, drinking, or playing outside with their children.

I sighed as I pondered what tomorrow would store for me, or what additional challenges I'd have to face.

It was after midnight when I finally felt sleepy, and as soon as my head hit my pillow, I fell asleep.

Even though I slept late, I had to get up early for work, and I didn't bother waking up Dustin and instead left him to sleep.

I was scared he'd insist on accompanying me to work; he's a harsh reminder of my failed lie with Xavier yesterday.

I had a quick shower and an even quicker breakfast. I was worried that Dustin might awaken shortly.

"I'm heading to work, Mom; take care of Dustin," I hurriedly murmured as I walked away.

Our presentation is quickly approaching, and while Xavier has already agreed to go with my plan, we were supposed to work together to improve it before presenting it to the client.

I was greeted with a smile by the morning guard as I showed my ID. "You must have an important presentation coming up," he said.

I simply smiled at him, received my ID, and proceeded to the elevator.

It was common for me to arrive at work early if we had a presentation scheduled.

When I got to our office, I was still humming a Pink song; I didn't bother lowering my voice because I was very sure I was the only one there.

"Just give me a reason, just a little.... son of a gun!" I abruptly stopped singing and almost cursed when I was frightened to find a man silently standing on my left, and when I checked again, I saw that it was Xavier.

He appeared amused as he watched me singing while standing still.

"Don't stop, and please don't mind me," he replied with a smile.

It's a good thing I was able to keep my mouth shut, or he'd definitely hear a lot of verbal abuse from me.

I faked a smile as I said good morning to him as if he hadn't startled me.

"Good morning, Yesha, and how was your boyfriend, oh wait, your brother, silly me?" Grinning from ear to ear.

Reminding myself to keep my cool and not get annoyed by this man, I began counting backward from one to ten as a way of keeping myself from becoming upset.

"Don't forget Yesha, he's still your boss, and you love your job," I reminded myself.

"He's good, thank you for asking," I replied, still smiling at him, but the grin disappeared when I realized something, and when I looked at Xavier's face, I saw that we were both thinking the same thing.

When I realized it was just Xavier and me in the office, I could feel a cold sweat building on the back of my neck.

"Wait, what are you doing?" When I saw him approaching me, I panicked, but he didn't approach me and just walked straight past me.

I followed his every move till he got to the water dispenser.

"Relax, Yesha. I was just grabbing some water," he remarked in a sensual tone.

I'm not sure what got into me as I watched him drink half of the water in his cup, and I'm not sure if it was deliberate or not, but a bead of water spilled from the side of his lips, which he licked sexily with his tongue.

I couldn't take my gaze away from what he was doing, and I blamed my blasted libido for making me feel so hot.

He got another cup of water after finishing the first one and drank it in one gulp.

The movement of his Adam's apple while he drinks arouse my desire; who would have imagined that drinking water could be so seductive?

I suddenly remembered the passionate night we shared, how his tempting lips kissed every inch of my body, leaving nothing untouched.

"It appears you're thirsty as well, Ms. Santillan; would you want to have a sip?" While holding a cup of water, he asked with innuendo.

I could feel the sexual tension between us, and I felt like I was burning out despite the fact that the AC was on, especially because his eyes were blazing with desire when he looked at me.

"Damn, I accidentally spilled water in my shirt," he grumbled, and I noticed a wet patch on his shirt.

"Wait! What... are you doing?"

I was horrified and pleased at the same time when I saw Xavier removing his shirt, and he was able to remove his shirt in a fluid instant, revealing a well-toned torso.

"Six-pack abs!" My mind hollered.

"Because my shirt was wet, I decided to take it off. You don't have any problems with that, do you?" He inquired, teasingly, as if daring me.

"Certainly not! You are free to do whatever you choose!" I hissed and then went to my table to get to work.

I tried to concentrate on my work, but I couldn't tear my gaze away from Xavier.

It was impossible not to be affected by Xavier's smoking figure and dashing features.

I sighed several times because Xavier kept strolling back and forth at my table, making it difficult for me to concentrate.

My innocent eyes can't stop staring at his body, particularly his chest area.

I observed a delicately layered of hair on his chest and wondered how it felt to trace my fingers to his chest, but as I realized what I was thinking, I straightened my posture and my glance landed on his face, where I saw a knowing look.

I could feel my cheeks heating up with shame, so I made an effort to ignore Xavier and his well-toned body.

Minutes passed until the door finally opened, revealing some of my coworkers.

Thinking about how Xavier could explain himself, shirtless and all, a wicked smirk emerged on my lips.

"Let's see how you can get out of this," I thought to myself.

"Good morning, Yesha, good morning, Xavier," Angie replied, but I didn't hear any exclamations of ecstasy from her, which I expected because Angie is a sucker for a well-endowed figure.

To my dismay, I quickly looked at Xavier and discovered he was already completely clothed.

He returned my gaze with an innocent smile, as if he could read my mind.

The hours passed, and I was still irritated by Xavier's attempts to seduce me.

"Xavier Fajardo, you're a jerk. I'll get back to you as soon as possible!" I made a pledge.
