I want a Baby!
I want a Baby!
Cruise's heart was beating fast as he tore the brown envelope open. The room had gone silent as they all waited for him to go through the content of something they all probably knew already.
Inside, the content confirmed what the elders had said. Cruise's father truly knew his son. He knew that the young man would give more importance to his business in the real world with humans and ignore the pack. That was why he put that clause.
In truth, Cruise didn't need the money but the amount was just too alluring to ignore. Thirty-five trillion dollars was not the kind of money a businessman like him would ignore. Besides, it was rightfully his money. He couldn't just forget about it.
He stared at the elders as soon as he finished reading the letter. They thought they'd had him. But they were wrong. Cruise had the perfect plan brewing in his head.
"Okay, if that is what you want." He started to say but one of the elders started clapping their hand in excitement.
"We knew you would make the right decision. The pack would be so glad to crown you. I think the next moon festival will be perfect!" He said and Cruise corked a brow at the man.
A smirk spread across his face as he internally mocked the man.
"Who said I was going to lead you?" Cruise asked the man's face fell in disappointment.
"The letter clearly stated it. If I insist on not ruling, I have the option of getting an heir and as soon as I had the child over to you for training, I am free to go with my money." It was now Cruise's turn to glare at them with mischief in his eyes. If they thought he would leave his company and come live with them in Virginia, they must be mistaken!
"You do understand that by heir, we mean you have to give us your blood. Only the white wolf can lead this pack and that has been our law since the beginning of time," Moses said with his voice raising with authority.
Yet, Cruise only smiled again.
Getting a child wasn't even a big deal. "I will get you an heir. My flesh and blood, sir," he retorted.
"Good. Remember, you have two years to achieve this or forget about the inheritance altogether," Moses warned once again.
Cruise got on his feet and gave Moses a grin. "Sure. I'll be back with my child. Keep my money intact and don't die yet old man, you will be the one to groom him," he said with amusement evident in his voice.
He walked out of the office with a bounce in his features. The condition wasn't even hard the more he thought about it. It was true that he didn't have a mate yet but he had a girlfriend in the human world, Chloe Roberts.
They had been together for years now and the supermodel would do anything to please Cruise. All he had to do was tell her what was involved. They didn't even have to move down to Virginia. They would continue living their lives and as soon as she gave birth, he would bring the child to Moses. Lucas could handle the pack in the meantime, he didn't give a damn.
Harmed with the perfect plan, Cruise boarded his private jet and was out of Virginia in no time at all. The flight went smoothly and in the next fifty minutes, Cruise was on his way home. He got Chloe a fresh bouquet of white roses and started for their bedroom. Out of habit, he knew Chloe was in their room chatting away on her phone.
"Hey, babe!" He greeted.
Chloe jumped off her position and came to embrace them. Their lips crashed and she melted in his arms. "I have missed you so much, Ty!" She squeaked against his lips.
Cruise kissed her back with equal passion and then presented the flowers to her. "I got you this," he whispered.
Chloe stopped clinging to him and observed the flowers for a second. "Ty, the last time you got me flowers you wanted me to cancel my contract with Jimmy Walker so I could take your company's offer. What is it this time?"
Cruise scratched the back of his dark hair and smiled weakly. "Babe, it isn't like I only get you flowers when I need something..." He said placing the flowers unceremoniously in a water jug.
Chloe raised her brow and folded her arms across her chest. "If this is about your dead father. I already told you, I am not going to Virginia with you," she said defiantly as she waltzed to the bed.
Cruise went after her before she could sit down and held her waist. "Babe, listen, we are not going to Virginia. But, you are right. I do need your help. But it isn't much of a big deal. It is an amazing thing if you think about it."
The frown on Chloe's face deepened as she listened half-heartedly to what he had to say. She never actually loved him. She was only with him for his money and fame. As a supermodel, she needed to remain relevant so she could keep getting exclusive deals and being seen around the city with the rich and handsome mysterious billionaire Cruise Tyson White, was a very good option. This was why she remained with him throughout these years and nothing more. But she was starting to get weary of his demands. What did he think of himself?
"What is it you want, Ty?" She asked him finally. For his good, she hoped he was about to ask something so she could fish out a lot of money from him, if not, she would reject the offer as soon as it left his mouth.
"I need an heir." He blurted and Chloe thought she must have heard wrong.
"Excuse me?" She asked again just for clarity.
"I want us to have a child, my love..."
