Chapter 7

The touch of their hands against one another was so magical, more like this feeling they were so afraid to venture, it hasn't been any better, and thinking about it now, Kayden smiled warmly at her.

"Let us go," he whispered out.

Kayden had excused himself to return the clothes to the washing room where they will be washed and placed in his locker to avoid confusion, he made it out of the central all looking fresh to start the day.

Kayden was outside, her small body curled up on a waiting bench. She was punching on the buttons of her phone and the moment she saw him approaching, she turned it off and slide it into her bag.

"Ready to go home?" he demanded his voice edgy.

"Tell me what you have to say, Kayden, that is why I waited for you until this time of the night. You shouldn't have asked me to wait for you if all you wanted to do was take me home, I believe I can do that myself," she said, shooting daggers at the man's eyes intently.

It was hard to swallow, but he didn't manage to act like he hears a lot of blunt ladies talk to him already.

"You should have left if you were tired of waiting, did I chain your legs on the chair and ask you to wait? no! so why the yelling?" he demanded his eyes focused on hers.

"Wow!" the young lady managed to say her voice shaky.

Indeed there was no doubt when she said he was the most arrogant lot that she had ever met.

"Anything else you want me to know?" the young lady inquired in the warmest voice ever.

It was aching, nothing could ever have compared to whatever might have been there, and more.

he didn't say anything, he felt awkward that Valerie had managed to say all of these things, and he was frightened by the fact that he might hate him forever.

"I know you are mad at me..." he started but was cut short when the lady gave him an unbearing glare.

she raised her hand up and shut him out.

"Don't say any more, Kayden, you are too arrogant, and blunt, and disrespectful," she started naming all of those things and in caught him aback, but he did not say anything, he just focused his eyes on the lady, not believing that she said all of that.

Silence reigned between them, no one dared utter a word, but then, it got even worse when what was actually said became a different frame than what was on site.

He lifted his right hand to his head and scratched it once, then twice, it was budding, he couldn't even realize he did that, but this was something that only occurred to him when he is stressed out, it can never be this budding and she knows about it so well.

"I can't understand why you are acting up this way," she said rolling her eyes.

He finally got the courage to talk after a while, it is true that it would be hard, but who cares? what is settled is what is at hand, it can't be any better, but it would get as normal as he can, and what he wants is just the settled part of it.

"Ehmm! I am sorry," he said faintly.

That was crazy, no matter what he was going to say, she was already been pissed off already, no matter what got over her head, he simply closed her eyes, not wanting it to get over her head.

"Tell me that when you mean it and you have changed," the young lady spat out breathing heavily.

That was challenging, the young lady said and as her eyes met with Kayden, she wondered if it was going to be this crazy, they had been crazy mates when they were younger, but no, it seems like a different person, more like a person whom she has never met before.

Well, it has been about seven years and that is a long while for many things to happen, she rolled her eyes in a crazy way.

As she started walking away, the young man held her hand and forced her to stop.

"Wait, Miss," he said warmly.

She was about to pull her hand away when she tripped and started falling face forward towards the ground.

That was crazy, she knew she will be so damn, but then, she didn't fall, nothing could make her feel better than when she opened her eyes and wasn't on the ground.

Kayden was swift enough to manage this lady, he had caught her when she was about to fall, and as they stood in the parking lot, it was so understanding, that was really crazy, no one thought it would be this good, no one even uttered a word and it was insane.

"Are you alright?" he asked his right hand brushing his breast.

"Stop touching my breast," she said in the most insufferable manner.

The young man closed her eyes first, it didn't want he had expected, and in a blink of an eye, he removed his hand from her breast, apologizing.

"I am sorry, about that," he said.

Bethany trusted herself to walk again, when she stood firmly, he eyed her in the most softest way ever.

"Thank you. I am off to the house, he Arrogant," He muttered out his voice shaking.

These are not the kind of things that are not said in that order, he let it go that way, but then, he let it go that way.

"Saying that doesn't make you arrogant, huh? that is strange," he spoke out rolling his eyes.

"I am tired. I should be heading home now," Valerie choked out the words.

Kayden wasn't happy hearing that, he frowned, but before he spoke, Valerie phone rang. She was embarrassed, sent her hand in the bag and picked it up the phone.

Valerie responded to the phone and walked away, she was aware of the fact that his eyes were bound on her, she wished he wasn't so present as he acted up to be.

"Hey, cousin," the thick voice choked into the speakers and the young lady laughed at it.

"Hey!" she breathe out his name as if he was some relief pills.

He might not be, but he was more than that, more like a life changer.

"Yes, it is Kayden, were you expecting someone else?" he inquired his voice tempting.

she did not know why she was happily talking to him, but a small change of topic would do her more good than she can actually think about.

"Well, I was in a tight spot and you just saved me. Thank you so much, you do not know how that means a lot to me," he said, explaining those words.

He made a groaning sound from his throat, it wasn't that easy when he turned it into a sizzling sound and tormented the lady with it.

"That is not fair," she let out faintly.

This time, he laughed. She was not going to hide anything from the man, it was more like him figuring out what might have turned out wrong, or right, and taking note of that, he managed to make it suitable for himself.

"You can't be this cruel, you know?" Bethany said warning her cousin off.

"I am sorry, just that you haven't come home yet, I hope nothing is the matter," he went on saying.

She checked at her watch, it was getting late, and when she looked behind, her eyes were locked with the man's own. In fright, she quickly looked away, not wanting him to see her blush.

"Nothing is the matter, my big old protective cousin. Besides, Kayden is here now, bi guesses we are going to have dinner together. Don't wait for me, I will just come home and settle in, good night," she let out the running words from her mouth.

She did not hang up the call because that will be downright embarrassing, again, she looked flushed when she felt how his eyes burned through her back, she couldn't see him, but she could feel it, and of course, it was evident. She closed her eyes in shock, not wanting it to be more dreadful than it felt.

His sighed before hanging up, it made her feel better.
