Chapter 2

"I'll make sure you rot in hell, Karl."

The blond clicked the bronze cuffs on her wrists and then sighed as he dragged her up to her feet, still limping and dragging it.

"Well, you have to stay alive long enough for that to happen..."

He said as his accomplices surrounded them.

"Now heal your leg..."

She shook her head, and the others with him groaned with utter frustration.

"Karl, she's not going to cooperate. Let’s just off her,"

"I'm with him,"

The shortest of the group said and it was still sounding like a dream in her ears. She had played with them as pups and gotten stuck in the mud and hid away from scolding.

"I mean...we already killed the Alpha and Luna, our hands are already stained,"

Now they were discussing killing her as if they were just discussing the weather.

"That's enough,"

Karl held up his hand then he grabbed Leila and threw her over his back.

"We are not going to kill her,"

Leila was shocked then immediately suspicious; why was he suddenly trying to protect her...especially after they just...

"Why?"

She held back the tears, promising herself that they would not get to see a drop of her tears.

Karl sighed.

"Are all of you just blockheads...do you think Alpha Dante is just going to throw his hands open to rogues?"

"We're rogues?"

The mushroom of the group asked looking around and the question made Leila's stomach twist.

Those disgusting traitors didn't even know who they were!

"Well we are wolves without a pack, what do you think people will call us?"

Karl barked at them, his hold on Leila's waist tightening.

"Unlike you guys, I had all this planned out...and Leila is our ticket to a new life,"

Leila felt her blood run cold.

"Whatever you are planning, you must be out of your mind if you think I'm going to help you!"

"Ugh,"

The other she-wolf of the group groaned.

"Can we at least knock her out so that I don't have to hear her annoying voice?"

Karl was quiet for a moment as a silent breeze blew by them, then he scoffed.

"As if yours is any better,"

Before Leila could blink her eyes twice to unravel what was happening, her head was knocked against something hard and the world around blurred into the background and it all faded into black.

Leila woke up to a strong, intense smell, unlike anything her nose had ever sniffed before...it was so...so...

Intoxicating.

Without thinking, and her brain seems to shut down with the overwhelming intensity of it, she struck out her hand and gripped whatever was in front of her, and inhaled it like a drug addict.

"Now here I was thinking that you would be upset to see me,"

As soon as Leila heard that voice snapped away like she just realized that she had been hugging a serpent.

But then again, it wasn't that far from the truth.

She snapped her eyes around and quickly realized that she was in a huge, kind of excessive but still beautifully furnished. Her fingers clenched and then balls of duvet sheets folded up in them.

She was on his bed!

But that wasn't the last shock that she would be getting that night and a far cry from being the worst.

"What is this...?!"

She barked at him.

His emerald eyes darkened like storm clouds for a moment and he bent down, quite stressed as he was quite tall, locks of his curly coal hair fell over his face.

"I've had tongues plucked out for using that tone with me,"

She was about to look away but he held her chin.

"You are quite lucky that I'm in a good mood right now,"

Leila was still hoping that this was some kind of nightmare, from her neck down she was studded in all sorts of heavy gems that glittered wickedly then the only thing that was barely covering her body from his gaze was this flimsy transparent nightgown.

She flung her hand over her breasts and then shut her thighs.

"Get your filthy eyes away from me!"

He stared at her for the longest time so much like he was trying to see through her very being, then he stole a lock of her hair causing her to jolt for a bit.

"You haven't been with a man before, have you?"

A smirk ran across his chiseled face as quickly as her blush which was all the answer he needed.

"Now this just became very interesting..."

He said, then she suddenly slapped his hand away.

"Don't touch me!"

She yelled.

"You...you are the reason my pack....my home...everything I ever loved is gone because of you!"

His eyes raked over her, then he chuckled.

"Am I supposed to apologize?"

He scoffed, combing back his black hair with his fingers.

"I gave your Father a peaceful option, he refused it...and before I could even get to him he had fled like a coward to death at the hand of his warriors..."

He tipped up her chin with his fingers.

"I didn't destroy your pack...it practically destroyed itself while I was close enough to the front seats to watch the show,"

Leila could feel those annoying tears stinging at the back of her eyes, then something that should have struck her earlier finally came to her mind.

"They were the ones that brought me to you right?"

"Isn't that already pretty obvious?"

He said, cocking his eyebrow.

"You should have seen how eager they all were to sell you off,"

He cupped his mouth.

"Loyalty at its finest, I have to say, being sold by people that you saw as family..."

Leila was completely speechless at that moment, his hands came to her again but this time it was to the hem of her gown.

"I decided to reward them by also making them my slaves as well..."

As well?

He saw the question in her eyes as his hands came to her bare thigh.

"Yes, from now on Leila Rayson, you are now my plaything,"

"Alpha Dante,"

A voice pierced through his door and he groaned.

"Is it time for the meeting already?"

"Yes, Alpha Dante,"

The voice assured him.

"It seems that I'll have to reschedule our play date,"

He squeezed her thigh one last time, before leaving the room with her locked inside. Leila finally healed her leg with only one thought in her mind.

How to get out of that place.

The door was locked, which meant the only other available exit was...

The window.

She looked and realized that she was on the upper floor of a huge mansion, one little slip while going down would lead to breaking every bone in her body.

She shut it with a hiss, as she pondered on her next line of action, an omega walked in with her food, it was some ragged-looking chicken legs on a plate that looks like a dog bowl.

"Here's your supper,"

The Omega said in a snappy voice as she practically tossed the bowl on the floor.

Leila glared at her.

"Who's that supposed to be for?"

Leila rejects the food and when this reaches their ears Dante casually waves it off as he was traveling to meet another Alpha for some business.

So in his absence his pack wolves moved Leila to the dungeons, the moment she was thrown there and the bars locked, her skin began to crawl with the smell of dead rats.

Then another familiar scent was captured by her ears, it was smeared with that mud and blood, but she couldn't mistake it.

"Leila..."

The owner called out as he crawled out of the shadows towards the light of the naked bulb.

And she called out his name with disgust.

"Karl..."
