CHAPTER 1: MOVING

The woods has always been a peaceful place for me. No one is around, intruding in on your thoughts and space. Every thing is silent, except for the sounds of twigs snapping, birds chirping and leaves moving with the wind. It's my happy space, so so beautiful and a place where I can think. It's my secret place.

When you have a protective father and protective uncles that are always on your back, you kinda need to get away for a while. That's what I do, four days a week, every week. I found it when I ran away from home one time because Nick was being rude, my parents were taking his side and he was making up stuff. I cried in this exact same spot: a closed off area, lots and lots of flowers, trees circling this one rock that the light shines upon. It's the perfect thinking area.

Right now, I'm thinking about the fact that school is tomorrow and I'm 17. The big two month holiday was tiring with everyone around. Don't get me wrong, I love my family. But things just get very over whelming. I sigh and stand up, grabbing my back pack and walking to the main road. I usually make a time for them to pick me up at the coffee shop, that's a three minute walk from my spot. Never have they picked me up from the forest, no one else knows about it.

As I enter the coffee shop and grab out my purse, I check the time and it reads 11:00am. Crap I'm late. I order my usual, a chocolate frappe then once its called out; I thank her and run out to the chauffeurs car. It's my own personal driver that dad hired, he also made sure that the drivers a male so I have protection at all times. He was once one of dads friends I think? Now he's a chauffeur.

"Good morning, Ray!" I chirp as I jump in the car and slam the door shut. He looks at me in the review mirror and smiles, starting up the car.

"Morning miss Lacuna," he politely says. I sigh and stare at him plainly, he sees my annoyed expression and laughs. "It's out of respect," I shake my head.

"But you've known me for ever! It's only fair that you call me Faye," I whine. He chuckles and turns up the volume, playing some jams as he drives me home.

"Bye Ray!" I exclaim, jumping out of the car with my things in my hand and running to the door. I open it and hear yelling, in curiousness- I walk into the living room and sigh at what I see. Nick with his friends, playing call of duty. He better not be on my account. He never likes versing me when his friends are around cause I always win. Which he doesn't like... he says that I'm a cheater but he's just ashamed...so he should be. Why did I get stuck with a twin brother? They don't pay attention to me as I walk through the living room and to the kitchen, where mum is talking with Nova.

"Hello Faye!" Mum exclaims, smiling at me happily. I smile and sit on the chair, "is something wrong?" She asks me in worry.

"Do I have to go to school tomorrow?" I sigh. She gives me a look and I pout, school is so boring and when you don't really have many friends... it's even more boring.

"Yes, you do. Is that even a question?" She scoffs, looking at Nova whilst laughing. What I said wasn't even funny.

"I'm sure the boys look after you and entertain you," I begin laughing so hard that my stomach hurts and I'm crouching over, struggling to breathe. I look up and see that they are not laughing, I purse my lips with a small smile.

"Oh, you're not joking?" I ask Nova. She looks at my mum in complete confusion, I bet she doesn't realise her son is the devil at school. Chad is Lucifer and Nick is Lucifer too. I'll let everyone think that they are darlings to me. Just because dad threatens them doesn't mean that they are gonna listen to him.

"No, of course not. They're nice, aren't they? Val and Mike told them to treat you good and if they haven't..-" I cut Nova off quickly.

"Nova, Nick is my brother. He is never going to be really nice to me, brothers and sisters fight a lot. Chad? Yeah he's fine," I lie. He makes fun of me too. They always have to make sure that I have no one, it hurts but I try to ignore it.

"True... why don't you go talk to the boys while your mother and I have a chat?" I groan and stomp to where my brother is screaming at the television with his friends. They all look at me as I walk into the room and cross my arms over my chest unhappily.

"I just saved your ass from a whopping Chad," I spit. He raises an eyebrow and looks at me in questioning, waiting for me to elaborate. "Your mum asked if you were nice to me at school, I said of course," I roll my eyes. One day I'm going to dog them so bad, I'll be laughing.

"Thank you so so much your highness," Chad sarcastically says, he then rolls his eyes. "Like I give a flying hoot," he laughs. I smirk and begin walking to the kitchen again, "wow, wow, wow... where do you think you're going?"

"Well... you said you don't care if I tell your mum.... so I'm going to tell her how much of a di** you are!" I exclaim. He stands up quickly and grabs my arm, shaking his head.

"No, don't. I'm sorry, please just don't tell my mum!" He pleads, I smirk already thinking of ways to use this to my advantage.

"Get on your knees and beg then promise to be nice to me for a month," he scoffs.

"No can do."

"Fine, 2 weeks..." when he doesn't respond, I sigh. "One week," he gets on his knees and looks up at me.

"Please forgive me your highness! Please! I'm begging you," he dramatically says.

"Stand up, you're embarrassing yourself," I smirk and walk off to my room. I hear him silently cursing me and I chuckle evilly. Once I'm in my room, I begin stripping for a nice warm shower. I get in my ensuite and turn on my shower, embracing the feeling of the warm water cascading down my back.

"Faye!" I hear a familiar male voice. "Faye, I need to speak with you!" Dad shouts. I sigh and turn off the shower and I begin drying myself, using another towel to dry my hair.

"Wait a sec!" I shout back and quickly dry myself then put on my pyjamas. I unwrap the towel from around my hair and grab my brush then walk out of the bathroom, dad is sitting on my bed with his phone in his hand. "What's the problem?" He looks up at me and pats the spot next to him. I try to act confident, but I'm really nervous as to what he has to say.

"I've heard Nick hasn't been treating you too well," he mutters making me groan and lay back. "Faye, you need to tell me these things!" He exclaims.

"Dad, it's not even a big deal. It's two twins fighting, it doesn't matter," I roll my eyes.

"Fine. When are you going to bring a friend over?" This makes my heart sink and hurt, the fact that I don't really have a best friend hurts. But Nick and his friends always seem to push people away from me, or I push them away myself.

"Dad... I don't really have many friends," I mutter in disappointment and embarrassment. I've had all my high school life to make friends but I haven't, I've just been alone and focusing on my studies.

"What do you mean you don't have many friends? You're a gorgeous girl, you're sweet... why wouldn't people want to be your friend?" He asks in complete confusion, I shrug.

"People aren't really nice, popularity is all that matters to people. Nick is popular, not me," he runs a hand through his hair.

"Popularity doesn't matter. Just because you aren't popular doesn't mean that you can't have friends," dad softly says. "Has this been going on for a while?" When I don't respond he closes his eyes.

I hug him tightly, "I didn't want you to worry..."

"We will discuss more of this later, I have a surprise for you..." I perk up and grin. He throws me some keys and I gasp, car keys! I jump on him, hugging him tightly.

"Thank you! Thank you! I love you!" I jump out of my bed and run out of my room and down the stairs, I open the front door and gasp when I see a beautiful car. It's a Porsche, it's gold and pretty! I unlock the car and open the door, the smell of fresh car makes me moan. It smells so good.

I grab my phone out and snap a few pictures, then select Tyrese's name on my contacts to tell him the good news.

"Little Lacuna... what can I help you with today?" Is what he says when he answers the phone.

"Dad bought me a car!" I exclaim excitedly in the phone.

"No."

"Yes!" I shout. "He didn't even buy Nick one! I feel so loved and appreciated," I gasp.

He laughs after I say this, "I'm going to have to visit to see your car. You have your license now, don't you?" He asks me.

"Yeah," is what I respond, feeling a bit distracted as I sit in my car and run a hand along the wheel and seats. Soooo good.

"Well, Little Lacuna. I'll have to see soon."
