Chapter 6
Joy POV
I am walking down the aisle with Dad while 'Here comes the Bride' is playing. When I get to the stage Dad leans in and whispers. "Sweetheart, that man's not going to stay faithful. He'll treat you like we did. You're disposable! Good luck."
Dad walks away from me and takes a seat next to Mum.
I climb onto the stage and place my hand into Jensen's.
He smiles.
The priest looks into the crowd. "We have gathered here today celebrate the marriage of Joy Elizabeth Hamilton and Jensen Nicholas McKellar."
I pull my hands out of his and wipe them on my dress. I put my hands back into his. I look into his ocean blue eyes and it makes me feel like I'm swimming in the ocean.
He smiles.
The priest asks Jensen. "Do you take Joy Hamilton to be your lawfully wedded wife?"
My knees start to buckle under his stare. I hold my knees together and smile at him.
"I do." He winks at me.
The priest asks me. "Do you take Jensen McKellar to be you lawfully wedded husband?"
"I do."
The priest says the vows.
Jensen says. "I Jensen Nicholas McKellar, choose you, Joy Elizabeth Hamilton, to be my wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part."
The priest says the vows.
Jensen slips he ring on my ring finger.
I look at him and say my vows. "I, Joy Elizabeth Hamilton, take you Jensen Nicholas McKellar, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, on sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part." I slip the ring onto his ring finger.
"You may kiss the bride."
Jensen moves forward and pulls me flush against his body.
I can feel the muscles under his shirt.
Jensen's lips touches my in a feather light kiss.
I wrap my hands behind his neck.
Jensen and I walk down the aisle away from our families.
We enter the house and move toward the kitchen.
He opens the door to the kitchen and he picks up two glasses. "I wanted to get you away from your parents. They have been glaring at you the entire time."
I drink the champaign. "They've been like that my whole life. I am used to it by now."
He shakes his head. "You shouldn't put up with that. Now, that we're married you have a choice to make. Do you stay in contact with your parents or do you want to leave this all behind?"
I look around the kitchen. "I want to leave this all behind. I have something's that I still need to pack." I make my way to my bedroom.
Jensen follows me into the bedroom. He sits on the bed while I pull the laptop and phone out of there hiding places.
He looks at them. "Why do you hide them?"
I look at the ground. "My parents didn't want me to have those things after I graduated from high school."
"Your Grandpa. He told me to keep them hidden and he even payed for my online university classes."
He moves towards me. "I'm your way out of this place. I now know why my Grandpa put this on one of his conditions to own the company."
I raise my hand to stop him moving closer to me. "I know the other condition is that you get the Hamilton Hotel and Resorts."
His mouth drops open. "How do you know that?"
I put the laptop and phone into a bag. I set it with the other bags that I packed earlier.
Jensen looks at me. "I'm going to call for a car to pick us up in two hours. I don't want to spend that much time with your parents."
I'm glad he thinks that.
Jensen and I make our way downstairs.
Mum and dad pull us away from the crowd. "We need to talk you in the office."
We follow mum and dad into the office.
Incase of a divorce the company won't leave the hands of Jensen McKellar.
They can't do this. My Great Great Grandfather started the company and now it's left the Hamilton hands.
Dad turns to me. "Joy, I have some documents I need you to sign." He pushes the second envelope towards me.
I rise. "I'm not going to sign anything. You've done more than enough to ruin my life. Mum and you both are cruel people. After today I won't have anything to do with you again. If you see me in the streets you should walk in the other direction." I pull Jensen's arm. "Let's enjoy the party and then go home."
Jensen and I exit the room. We make our way through the party and we stop to talk to the guests.
At 10pm, Jensen and I move toward the cake.
He place his hand on top of mine and we cut the cake. He pulls a piece of cake of the tray and moves it towards my lips.
Jensen brings his mouth to my finger and he licks it.
I can't believe he's doing that.
Someone clears there throat and I turn toward the person.
Cindy laughs. "You too are cute together. Can we get some cake to eat?"
I slice the cake for the guests and give everyone a slice.
The waiters and waitresses offer the guests tea and coffee.
Jensen wraps his arms around me. He kisses my cheek. "Are you ready for our first dance?"
I nod. "I'm happy that you told them that there won't be a father/daughter dance."
He whispers. "I'd rather you be far from that man."
The guy on the stage looks for Jensen and I. "Joy and Jensen would like to have there first dance as husband and wife. After the dance they will be departing."
Jensen pulls me onto the dance floor and he places a hand on my hip and the takes my hand.
I place my hand on his shoulder and we move across the dance floor.
He spins me across the floor and he dips me; then pulls me upright and into his hard solid chest.
After the dance Jensen and I walk up to my room and we pick up my bags.
We exit the house and climb into the limo.
