Chapter Six: Barren.
Chapter Six: Barren.
Third-Person Point of View:
SHILOH gapped after hearing the question from the King. These past few days, she can hear someone or something that has been whispering through her head. She can also smell the sweet smell of the King that she has never smelled before. It was strange. She’s already 25 years old, if it was her wolf then why does it show late?
“Shiloh…” The King called her which made her back to her senses.
She shooked her head, “I didn’t know… I thought I don’t have but these days feel different.”
King Alpha slowly nodded and then lowered his head to reach Shiloh’s lips. It seemed like he doesn’t care much about how she discovered that she has a wolf. He continued kissing her until she lie down. King Alpha positioned himself above her before he whispered…
“You still need to bear my child,” he said. “Or you’ll be rejected just like my past wives.”
She didn’t know but there was something about what he said that made her think that the King knows something. That night, the King pleasured himself through Shiloh, again. Just like every night before he slipped and leave her on the Queen sized bed.
—
Shiloh woke up feeling sore all over her body. Last night, the King almost didn’t stop doing whatever he wants on her body. It’s strange, but from last night, it feels like she’s starting to like what they were doing and she hates it because she doesn’t want it in the first place. For it was disgusting. They are not mates and they haven’t got married yet they were doing that kind of thing. She’s so sure that if ever she escaped this palace, no man could love her the way she dreamed because she already lost her purity… she has no dignity left.
Every morning, the maidservants are going to her room to bath her and then dressed her even though she can do it by herself. It’s almost three weeks but she’s still couldn’t used to being served by someone.
After she wore an elegant pink dress, someone knocked on the door. Just like what the Beta told her, she answered.
“Who’s that?” she asked.
“Miss Harding, this is Butler Owen.”
“Alright, come in!”
The door opened and the Butler came inside. Butler Owen has a clean-cut hairstyle and his eyeglasses were thick. He was good as a Butler and he always answered Shiloh’s questions politely.
“Lord Peterson Harding is here to see you,” he said.
Her mouth gapped and she immediately stood up. “Where is he?”
Butler Owen lead the way to where her Uncle was while the two maidservants who has been serving her ever since she got here were following her. No one knows that Peterson Harding is her Uncle. Only she, Beta Lincoln, and King Alpha know. Because if ever someone will know about this, they were sure that rumors would spread immediately.
The big oak door opened to the receiving area and she immediately saw her Uncle. Peterson stood up as soon as she saw his niece.
“My daughter!” he called.
Shiloh flashed an awkward smile before she walked toward him and let him hug her. After that, she asked the maidservants together with Butler Owen to went outside so they could talk properly. When the door closed, they sat down on the chairs, facing each other.
“Uncle, why did you allow the King to use you?” she asked in a low voice, preventing someone to hear what they were talking about.
“I have nothing to do with it. He is the King, who am I to oppose his request?” he replied. “Besides, I want to help you and your mother. I know how difficult it was for all of you when my brother died.”
Among the relatives related to the Harding family, only her Uncle Peterson has a true concern towards them. When no one wanted to help them, his Uncle Peterson did. And now, he’s risking his own name just to help them!
“The royal council knows that you only have two sons. How are we going to explain them?” she asked.
Uncle Peterson smiled. “Don’t worry, I’ve already prepared an alibi.”
The door opened without a knock and Arnold Brenner came inside. They were both surprised to see him walk proudly inside. His arrogant aura was overflowing. Seeing his black eyes shine purple, Shiloh couldn’t help but overthink that he might be the man who was giving her medicines.
They both stood up to greet the royal council gamma, “good morning, Lord Arnold Brenner!” Peterson greeted.
“Good morning to you, as well,” he greeted back. “It’s good to see you again. How was your talk with your daughter?” Arnold shifted his attention to Shiloh, his voice seemed mocking.
“It’s good. I haven’t seen her for almost a month and it’s great that we got to see each other today, I missed talking to my precious daughter,” Peterson replied smoothly.
Arnold raised his brow and then looked at Peterson. “Is that so? We all didn’t know that you have a daughter. Did you hide her or something?” he chuckled.
“I purposely hide her. My wife back then got a prediction that if we got a daughter, we would have bad luck. My brother took her for years, now I finally discovered that the prediction wasn’t true. My daughter got lucky to be the soon-to-be bride of our King Alpha, right?”
Arnold laughed mockingly. “You’re not sure about that, Lord Peterson.”
Shiloh’s heart clenched. Seeing Arnold’s reaction seemed like he was one of the royal council that was against the King.
“What do you mean?”
He cleared his throat before leaning towards them.
“Don’t you know that the King is barren? The reason why he kept on changing wives. If he did not get your daughter pregnant, he will eventually throw her out of the palace just like what happened to his past six wives.”
Peterson was shocked after hearing that. He moved away and looked at Shiloh who was just standing there, pressing her lips. She didn’t know but… she felt bad for the King.
“I will get pregnant,” Shiloh said.
Arnold pursed his lips. “Oh, that will be good. But I doubt it will happen. We’re sure he’s barren.”
