Chapter 3: Wolf... How True Is The Mythical Creature?

ADHARA:

"WOAH! What the hell is this place?"

I was amazed at the beauty of the place when I got out of the room I was in for the first time. The large and vast library appeared to me. It was vintage style but had an elegant interior. Books are neatly placed on gigantic book shelves.

In spite of that, I didn't waste any more time looking around. What I need to do now is get out of this place.

So, I did. I ran as possible as I could, looking for a way out of this library. And when I found a door at the end of the aisle I entered it.

But… wait.

I looked around in wonder, I turned around to see it properly.

This is still the room where I stay.

"Did I go the wrong way? Maybe this is still the door I came out of?"

One more… I need to try one more time.

I went out of the room for the second time and I saw the library once again. Until I get to the end of the aisle, I look back at the door I came out of. It was different and I am sure of that.

I couldn't help but wonder but even so I continued walking. When I came across the door at the end of the aisle I took a deep breath before opening that door.

And when I opened it… it wasn't my room anymore. My heart rejoiced.

It seems to be the center of the mansion, there is a tall and wide staircase, grand and elegant in design, it seems like a staircase found in a palace. But that's not what I'm wondering about.

I am surrounded with a lot of doors. A grandiose one, an ordinary, an exotic door and the rest are of different designs. What do I choose? What do I get out of?

"It gives me a headache choosing the right door!" I complain.

Regardless, I chose the luxurious door, maybe that was the way to the outside of the mansion.

But…

It is still not!

"Argh!"

I screamed loudly in annoyance. Because I went out one door and entered another door, but every time I did that I just went back to the room where I was staying. I'm dying to try. Outside this door, the library will embrace me again, then a door and many more doors. I don't know where I'm coming out and where I'm coming in. So I tried all the doors but no matter which door I entered, I only ended up in one… this room.

I sat on the soft bed and sighed. I don't know how many days or weeks I have been staying here. I can't see the sun rise and set in this room. I took another deep breath and let it out. How can I get out of this place? How do I get out of this magical mansion?

It was like a prison yet I am free to roam inside.

I stayed in that position for a few minutes when suddenly someone knocked on my bedroom door. I immediately stood up.

It was the guy who brought me here. I looked down at the tray he was carrying that was filled with different kinds of fruit and a glass of water.

I looked back at the man's face.

"What is this place?" I immediately asked him when our eyes met. But there was fear in me.

I don't trust him. I shouldn't have approached him. If this place is mysterious, then he should be mysterious too since he owns this mansion.

His face has no emotion and that scares the hell out of me. As he gradually approached, I continued to retreat. I don't want him near me. It makes me shiver.

"Did you roam?" he asked, emotionless.

How did he know?

I swallowed and showed that I was not afraid of the canoe.

"Yes," I firmly answered. "Are you a human?"

I couldn't stop myself from asking that. I was even more terrified when he stared at me. He hardly blinked. I brace myself even though I know that I am very petrified.

"Who are you?" I dare to ask him.

This time, he looked away. "Did you eat already?"

I got mad. "You didn't answer my question!"

"I haven't answered your question yet, you're scared already. What more if I did?"

I frowned. "W-What do you mean?" I couldn't help stuttering. I'm really anxious.

"Just eat. You need to regain your energy. I guess it decreased because you tried to go out." And for the first time, I saw him smiling with evilness. That smirk gave me an eerie feeling.

But I stand still. I want to know everything. I want to go outside. I don't want to be here.

He was about to leave when he put the tray on the side table but I suddenly approached him.

"Stop!" I commanded. "I am still talking to you!"

Slow motion, he turned his gaze upon me. My eyes got wider as I saw his eyes turned bright in an emerald.

I recoiled in fear. My eyes widened. My mouth dropped. I can not believe it.

It was just a millisecond but I can clearly remember the color of his eyes.

"Do you need something?" he asked, as if nothing happened.

I shook my head while still looking at him in fear.

"N-N-Nothing..." I answered.

And the next thing I knew, he left me dumbfounded.

How can I escape this mansion?

IT'S ALMOST DAWN, I am waiting for my food to arrive. I am starving and I don't know why. I ate the fruits he gave me, yet I am still starving. And so, I need to go out to look for something to eat. Maybe I can try escaping again while looking for food.

So, I did. I need to try harder.

I went outside my room with determination.

I took a deep breath and took the aisle with all my valour. From the library to the numerous doors. And this time I didn't choose the fancy door. I chose the ordinary one.

And…

"Whoa!"

I couldn't help but gasp when I felt the cool breeze. My eyes widened with joy when I saw the dark surroundings with big trees around. Only the light of the moon serves as a torch tonight.

From where I was standing there was a staircase leading down to the huge gate. I went down slowly. Afraid that someone might catch me.

"I can say that I am still lucky. I can now escape," I whispered.

I opened the massive gate that was made of iron and slowly went outside. I looked around to see if there was someone who would catch me, but luckily, there was none. So I continued walking barefoot until...

"What the hell is that?"

From not far away, I could clearly see two animals in the middle of combat with each other... Are they a dog?

no…

They were wolves!

My eyes widened and I was terrified.

I screamed when I confirmed their identities as a creature. Are they true? Are the mythical wolves true? Why are they here in the human world?

I screamed at the top of my lungs and when I looked at their directions, they stopped fighting and saw the pair of their eyes, looking at me...

What the hell!

I tried to run as fast as I could but ended up screaming as a wolf with bright emerald eyes was thrown nearby to me. It was wounded. On the other hand, the one wolf with the garnet hued eyes who was hostile, growled loudly, its sharp fangs showing as it snarled before attacking me.

"W-What i-is he going to do with me?!"

I closed my eyes and waited for my death but nothing happened. The next thing I knew, the wolf with garnet eyes was on the ground, bitten by the wolf in front… the wolf with bright emerald eyes that was so familiar to me.

I was more surprised when it suddenly ran away but I quickly followed it. Until I caught it fainting and fell on the grass. The body was full of wounds and blood.

"Argh!" The wolf screamed because of the pain he was feeling. "W-What the f-fuck!"

And what surprised me more...

It turned into a human form…

Not only that… the man who had become a werewolf was very familiar to me.

It was the guy who owns the magical mansion...

And the next thing I knew, due to shock and fatigue, I couldn't remember anything from there.

I lost my consciousness.
