Jealousy
With smooth and quiet steps, Hazel climbed up to the first floor. She wouldn't have dared it if not for the guards posted at the entrance of the Alpha's floor.
The first floor is for the Alpha, his family and few relatives who are important. The Beta and Gamma must live with him so he made them stay on the second and third floor.
It wasn't easy for Hazel to scale and climb up high to the first floor. What Ives had done today by peeling a bunny apple which signifies love and care was unpredictable and it caused a small stir. If her parents were not the Alpha's Beta, Alpha Louis would've throw them into cells or kill them. Hazel also wondered what would become of her if such thing happens.
She quickly brush off the negative thoughts and focus on getting to the next floor without being caught. Placing her hands on the windowpane, Hazel lift herself up to her waist and tried to get into the corridor the window that was left open.
It was dark outside as dull blanket of clouds covered the sky without a single trace of light except from the ones that emit from the rooms of the people living in the estate and outside the estate like the streets.
Hazel had forgotten to check the time but it might be around 10 O'Clock and here she was, inside the Alpha's corridor without a fear of being caught.
If she was caught by the guards they won't be able to punish her severely as far as she gives a reason that holds water. Hazel smiled and removed her hand from the window not figuring out that the window was a drop-down type.
The moment her hand was removed, it dropped downward and hit the windowpane shut. For a second Hazel felt wind in her ears at the sudden realization.
Approaching footsteps made her move from the window into a small tight corner, her heart beating frantically against her ribs in fear of what will happen when she would be caught besides, they have good smelling ability.
The footsteps became clearer and stopped after getting to the window. The guards heard a sound from the corridor and quickly came to check, they were greeted by a closed window which certainly wasn't when one of them had passed.
"I think someone entered this floor through this window," one with a gruff voice said.
"It might be the wind! Can't you see the clouds?" Another guard said and walked away leaving the guard who said he knew someone entered the corridor.
The guard starts smelling the air for any foreign scent. Hazel breath out a voiceless sigh as she had coated her skin with Lilac flower notion that no one could easily smell her.
The guard continued checking all the corners and behind curtains and wasn't satisfied as his instinct kept telling someone entered here.
Hazel in her hiding position heard a loud voice like bark boomed inside the corridor making her almost wet her pants.
"What are you doing here you incompetent?" The voice send chills down Hazel and the guard's spine making them flinch.
"I'm sorry young master, a loud noise came from this side of the corridor. We came here to find out what happened but nothing could be seen instead, the window was shut."
"Go back to your position right now! No slacking off."
" Okay young master." The guard said and quickly scurry away.
After a long quiet time that Hazel's body couldn't stand there anymore, she swayed out of the suffocating corner only to meet the obsidian hue eyes of Ives. He was actually the one who shouted at the guardsman.
Ives tilt his head in astonishment and smirked. So what the guard believed is true, he thought amd and brought her out from the corner before taking her to his room.
Throughout the walk to his room, they were too quiet that Hazel wasn't comfortable with the act. Ives who was walking side by side kept reading her emotions before they walked into his room.
"You came to meet Clare didn't you?" Ives voice was laced with anger.
Hazel frowned and stared at Ives as if she has seen a ghost.
"That's impossible, I came here to find you," she said and walked towards him. "You didn't tell me why you were walking on the corridor?" Hazel fired at him.
Ives smokes but the you'll never know except you caught him. Hazel had caught him severally to be surprised.
"I also heard the sound and thought you went to Clare's room. So what are you doing here, I need a reasonable answer."
Hazel smiled and rolled her eyes. She wondered if Ives was jealous.
"I've told you, I came here to meet you and why did you do that? The bunny apple? "
Ives smiled and wrapped his hand around her slim waist and pulled her closer to feel the heat emitting from his body. She gulped and tried pushing him away but his hold was firm.
"What, anything bad with that? I can peel dozens for you as long as you cherish them."
Hazel smiled sweetly and blushed shyly at him. "Alright," she said and walked towards his bed.
"It's late Hazel, your mom would be angry with me if she finds out her daughter is with me." For once, Ives showed geniue concerns.
Hazel paused and admired his luxurious furnished room that was five times furnished than hers. The black and white painting gave off a cool vibe, his bed could fit in five to six people and the black woolen duvet feels soft.
Hazel walked to Ives again and pulled his hand along with hers to the bed. "I know, just this night," she pleaded with her eyes.
Ives raised his eyebrows at her and scowled, "are you sure you want to stay here for the night?" I feel you're already seducing me by saying that."
"Does it?" Hazel asked.
Ives smiled and raised his hand. "Yeah." He answered and pushed her lightly on the bed before laying beside her.
In a quiet part of the city, shadows move all around as their reflection were shown on walls and objects with the help of the moon. The shadows were as fast as lightning and vile as they posses to be.
One of the shadows crawled into a small apartment that was housing a poor family and their daughter. The outside of the house was not too beautiful as one could clearly see it was shabby. Echoes of screams filled the quiet air, blood suddenly splattered on the curtain which was visible from the outside.
Soon, people starts running away from their buildings along with children and old couples. While running, the agile ones starts shifting into their wolf form. People kept falling but there was no one or weapons.
A similar thing that has been happening to other Packs in mostly remote places. It wasn't too long did the news reach Alpha Louis and his Beta. The entire council was thrown into dire confusion.
Hazel groan softly as Ives hands on her back remove the hook on her bra. She was straddling him as they kissed deeply.
Ives flipped her on her back and pressed her against the bed while unfastening his buttons.
Knock Knock
A knock suddenly came to the door making Hazel jolt in fear. Ives grumbling and curses filled the room as he answered the door.
"Your father requires your presence now!" Theo said harshly and glared at Hazel who was shivering as a water leaf. It was her father who was standing at the door and he actually saw her on Ives bed.
"Hazel come with me," the man with sharp jaws and well refined body said.
Hazel quickly rush out of the room and failed to notice the eye contact between her father and Ives who was standing nonchalantly by the door.
Theo Walter frowned deeply and walked away to his daughter. He wondered why the Alpha's son had a thing for his daughter. The Alpha will not tolerate such decisions and his daughter won't be part of it when it comes to heartbreak.
Hazel was still fretting even in the late council meeting. Walter and Erin noticed she was uneasy but brush it off, as for Theo Walter, he believes it was because he had seen her with Ives.
The messenger was allowed to speak what happened in Spring Pack. Meanwhile, Hazel wasn't in the council meeting anymore. From nowhere a sharp piercing scream echoed inside the lonely corridor close to the window she had jumped in as if a long needle suddenly pierced her both ears, she jolted up from her sleep in Ives arms.
"Shh. Don't cry, it's okay,It just a dream." Ives said to calm her down.
Hazel was still surprise it was all a dream. She then turned to look at Ives,
" I think I should go back to my room now," she said and stood from the bed.
"I thought you wanted to stay with me for the night?" Ives wasn't totally happy.
"Yeah I know, see you tomorrow at school," she said and dashed off from his room.
To Hazel, the dream looked surreal and clear, it was her first time having such kind of dream. She scaled the wall again and jumped into the second floor before running quietly to her room.
Hazel then checked the time on her phone, it was midnight. Hazel thought and took out a dream book she borrowed from the library. She searched for similar dream but she couldn't find it.
It was after midnight did Hazel opened her eyes again for the second time. She was having a strange feeling, a cold air suddenly pass through her hitting her skin like blades being pierced into her body.
Hazel stood up from the bed and turned to lock the window when she saw a woman clothed in shining white flowing dress. Her eyes were silver and also her hair, a silver crown was placed on her head and a silver staff that glowed beautifully. Her whole body was engulf in the silver light like circle.
Hazel was taken aback intensely at what she was seeing. The woman look less compared to a human or mythical being, she is a Goddess.
"Who are you?" she asked while gulping the invincible lump in her throat.
"I'm Selene, Moon Goddess of the Werewolves," she said proudly and moved away from the window.
Thinking the Goddess would hurt her, Hazel shifted from her.
"What do you want with me?" Hazel asked. She was still believing it was a dream and pinched. The Goddess then walked close to Hazel, "a war is coming, many will perish, friends will turn foes but only you could change that."
"Me? How? Which war?" Hazel was confused as the woman was speaking in circles. "Please explain further,"
"It's left for you to figure out yourself. I'll return when I'm needed," she said and disappeared from the room as if she wasn't there a second ago.
Hazel felt her blood turn cold at the realization it wasn't a dream and what does it mean when the Goddess said when she's needed. She couldn't pinpoint what just happened, the space where the silver woman had stood was now empty.
She was so engrossed in her thoughts and failed to hear someone was knocking on her door.
"Hazel!" Her father's voice boomed inside her room that almost made her blood pressure turn high.
"Y.. Yes father?" Hazel was still absentminded but she replied him.
"You're coming with me to Spring Pack location where the shifters there were murdered.
Hazel didn't ask questions, she nodded her head and quickly went to her closet to change into a cloth fit for walking freely.
The investigation isn't going to be a small one because the messenger said no one was killing them, the people would fall on the ground, next thing a spear or sword is stabbed into their body by invincible people.
