Five

He watched as Mr. Phil stopped the car in front of the Cream colored two-storey building, parking well. The color looked like it was starting to lose its thirst for life. He could read the inscription written above it that was also starting to look faded. It made him wonder how long the company had been in existence and why the people were doing nothing to make it look presentable.

Frayl Company.

He muttered silently in his head

His driver got down and walked over to his side of the car pulling the door open so he could get down. The door closed the moment he stepped away from the car to walk into the weird looking company. It wasn’t really as standard as his company was but it was okay, something he could make do with.

“ Mr. Mich.” A middle aged man asked curiously with his lips spread apart in what he believed was a smile and his eyes glued on him. He was dressed in Black suit, something that looked like it was bought with a percent of Mich’s pay.

Mich looked hard at him without saying a word, his look so stern and hard.

“ Oh! I guess you are then.” He exclaimed, sounding awkward. “ Come with me Sir.” He added and gestured him to walk with him before stepping forward. He had heard lots of stories about the Billionaire tycoon, the most successful Wolf in the whole town. Some even said he went international.

Mich did as instructed, not because he didn’t have a choice but because he just wanted to get the meeting done with and return to other things.

“ Here Sir.” He informed and stretched his left hand out to pull the glass door to the meeting room open. “ You go first.” He gestured and watched Mich walk in without a word before stepping in behind him.

Mich took his seat in the first seat, his eyes resting on the three men in suites of different colors sitting directly opposite him.

“ Mr. Mich, it’s a pleasure to meet you. I am Mr. Enzo, on my right is Mr. Tyler and on the left is Mr. Dan.” The man sitting in the middle introduced as he stood up to stretch his tight hand forth for a brief handshake.

Mich waved it off. He was willing to pass on that. Physical contact was one thing he didn’t do, unlike other Wolves, one of his powers was sensing other peoples emotions.

“ Let’s just go straight to business.” Mich said and picked up the file in front of him. “ I need to know what services you have to render..” He added and relaxed well in his seat.

A soft knock landed on the door before it was pulled open then closed again. He could hear the footsteps from behind him.

Alice walked over to where they sat with the cups of coffee in her hand. The four coffees placed in a bigger box with an handle to it.

“ Thank you.” The men muttered as she dropped theirs in front of them.

Mich could see the weird looking woman dressed in a Blue bear outfit, something with smaller ears over her head. Behind her back was a zig zag line that led to the little tail stuck on her butt. It made him wonder if the people here were really capable of doing anything right.

Coffee during an important meeting was a sign of incompetence.

“ Here you go.” Alice said softly and placed the coffee in front of him. The Big Boss they said would come visit today.

“ I didn’t order for one so take it.” Mich said coldly, his eyes on the coffee. He rarely took coffee and even if he wanted to, it wouldn’t be from one of the wack shops around. He wasn’t just anyone who would eat or drink anything. He was Mich, the powerful Wolf. One that controlled a big business so he knew better than to take a risk of falling ill.

“ Oh! You should try it Sir. The coffee is from one of the best shops.” She said warmly and sent him a smile. She knew that because she had personally tried all the coffee shops around till she had found the perfect spot.

“ Nope. Keep it.” He said and stretched his right hand to pick it up and place back into the box.

Arrogant. He was arrogant and she hated that.

“ You should try it…Sir.” She said in between clenched teeth and proceeded to pick it up.

His right hand met hers midway as he grabbed it, his fingers curled around her wrist.

His eyes color flashed briefly to a calm grey as the adrenaline shot through his body.

The sound of the birds chirping. The sound of the water flowing.

Peace! Soothing! Calmness! Clean! Water!.

He felt it all. The peace that came with being her.

He liked it.

Mich raised his eyes to look at her and froze. It was her. The same one he had saw that day. The one that reminded of that woman. Her eyes calm as the sea. Just the same peace he had felt with that woman.

Alice could notice the tension she got from being this up close with the Bug Boss. The one every other one feared.

The Big Boss.

Oh no!.

She could get fired for provoking him or worse still disobeying his order.

Flinching, she pulled her hand backwards and hit the coffee, letting the content flow down the table landing on his laps.

“ Ouch!.” Mich flinched and scooted backwards from the hotness he felt.

It dawned on her. What she had done.

“ I am so sorry. I didn’t mean….” She was saying in a sober mood as she tried to dust off the effect of it off his laps.

“ I am so sorry.” She pleaded, bitting her lips nervously. Ignoring the pain she felt from it.

“ Leave!.” He yelled, his eyes not on her. His anger building up.

“ I am truly sorry Sir. I….” She was saying before she got cut short.

“ I said leave!.” He yelled angrily, louder this time and watched her stagger backwards in fear.

“ You can leave Alice.” Mr. Dan informed.

“ I am sorry, so sorry.” She kept muttering as she walked out of the room.

“ We are sorry about that Sir…” Mr. Enzo was saying when Mich brought up his right second finger to signify him to stop.

“ Where is the restroom?.” Mich questioned and got up. He hated pity or concern. He hated any form of show of affection.

He watched them direct him then walked out of the room. He wasn’t willing to let them walk him there.

Who did she think she was to touch him? To piss him off this way? Who was she to try and disobey his order?.

He thought angrily as he walked uncomfortably to the restroom. He hated wetness or being uncomfortable. Deep down he knew he had to teach her a lesson, a lesson for provoking him.

He walked in and stared at his reflection in the mirror, squeezing his palms tightly. He soon found a clean cloth hanging on one of the rods there and stretched his right hand to pick it up. He used it to wipe his trousers even though it didn’t look like it had any difference to the way it was before.

Pissed and angry he threw the cloth into the bin and stepped out of the restroom. Now all he wanted to do was get this done with and leave. He knew deep down that they would never get a response from him again.

Alice paced around the space in fear as she watched from afar, wanting to know what next would be her fate. She watched him walk out of the room and head for the restroom. She could read the look of hate and disgust he had written all over his face but she knew better than to go there to talk to him or apologize to him.

She had never meant to. All she wanted was for him to try the coffee. She believed it would calm him and made his day good. But she had ended up making things worse.

She could see him storming back to the meeting room and he pushed the door open angrily then stepped in. She couldn’t make do with what their expressions after that was all about but she was more than sure that right now, her fate was being decided.
