Chapter 4

She straightened her neck and held the book close to her heart. As she turned to face the boy in front of her, terror took the life out of her.

"I'm very sorry I scared you. I've been standing here for about a minute, yet you seem preoccupied."

Her eyes remained attentive and wide open. She made an effort to control her breathing and subdue the terror, but it was ineffective. Any other sound was drowned out by the beating of her heart.

She has spent a great deal of time here previously, but she has never met a person until today. a human male. He seemed to know you.

She alerted while remaining in place. Maybe if she remained still. Maybe he wouldn't suspect anything if her eye colour didn't change.

He gave her a moment of puzzled attention after seeing how afraid she seemed. It was strange. Ethan here. He extended his hand to her but she stood her ground. "I just moved here with my parents and sister a week ago," he said. Although his hand seemed to be warm and inviting to her, she refrained from taking it.

What if he injured her if she took it?

As he stuffed his hands into his pocket, he cleared his throat. He could tell she was strange.

Do you reside in this area?

He looked around and questioned. He wasn't yet in the mood to give up.

She remained still and mute. He only had to turn for her to go. She was able to flee in less than five seconds.

To see whether he was with someone, she peered behind him. They could have been waiting for her to act so they could assault her. She had no idea how she would pass away. She hadn't even said her parents and her closest friends, Sam and Kayla, farewell. the waterfall there

Oh, don't worry, I arrived here by myself. Are you authorised to be out here, considering that I'm not meant to be, and neither are we? He talked incoherently. She had been looking at him without blinking, and he had the distinct impression that her orbs changed as soon as he did. Maybe he was driving himself crazy thinking about how stunning she was.

She seemed to be soul fire flashing off the ice. Her silver hair, which was long and free in the sunset, mirrored the sun and the wave from the bonny lake. He pondered if she had coloured her hair that particular shade or whether it was already silver.

He would stop at nothing to touch it and experience how smooth and silky it was because it fit her in any case.

She eventually managed to say, "Please go." She didn't have to say anything at first. But she was concerned that if she ran away, he may pursue her and find out where she lived, mocking her for being so frank.

She wouldn't put her or her family's lives in danger.

He abruptly said, "You voice. Her speech quenched and purified the soul, and it was like water in the air. "I'm very sorry for making you feel uncomfortable," I intend to say.

“Ethan? Ethan…”

He sighed in irritation and closed his eyes. It was his sister, who was 14 years old. He had cautioned her not to come wandering into the woods, but he knew she was going to come after him eventually.

He paused as he saw she had left before saying, "That's mine..." He said beneath his breath, "F*ck." His sister managed to spoil the moment just as he was about to ask for her name.

"Lily, what? I believed I had instructed you not to follow me outside. It's much too risky.

She interrupts him and says, "Well, you shouldn't be out here too." She is looking down at him.

"I am mature enough to defend myself. But you continue to have nightmares about creatures beneath your bed.

She groaned and squeezed his torso. She said, "They were there.

"That hurts, it's not pleasant. Additionally, you frightened off my new pal.

“Who? You saw a dog? A cat? Oh no, a rabbit? Lily chuckled as she continued, but she never received a response.

In the dead leaves next to the rock she was sitting on, he saw her book lying there. He picked it up and looked at it.

Why is that?

Lily enquired, but he still didn't respond.

He held their hands and led the way to their farm house, saying, "Let's go home, Lily."

Elise stood back and observed them. She didn't see any danger in them. Maybe it's because she resembled them so much that they had no idea she wasn't human.

Ethan was holding her book and checking it out as they left the trees, and she observed as they did so.

She hopes he doesn't notice anything odd about her and assume it was just a book of imagination. She gave a little sigh as she left for home.

Ethan read the book Elise had left for him that night. He had read that the canine family's wolves were the biggest members. The most prevalent kind, known as the adaptable grey, used to be found across the Northern Hemisphere. Although wolves almost ever randomly attack people, they are usually regarded as one of nature's most dreadful monsters.

The information he read about them differed greatly from what he had been informed and taught. Unless you enter their region or attempt to hurt them, they appear to be unthreatening.

Even though he believed the werewolf pack tales to be untrue, he spent the first part of the night reading and ruminating on them. He always kept a modified cricket bat next to his bed.

The next evening, Ethan returned to the same location in anticipation of her appearance in order to return her diary and continue his efforts to get to know her.

He has connected with and met a lot of females. But he has never encountered a female like her in his 19 years of life. She has a certain something about her that is intriguing and captivating. She seemed strong but also afraid. He was aware that she was probably scared due to legends of werewolves hiding in the woods.

He climbed up onto the rock and sat down where she had been the day before. As he gently breathed, he took in the stunning but spooky scenery surrounding him. He had the impression that someone was keeping an eye on him from a distance and was devising a trap for his demise.

"How tall is he? Is he attractive? Does he resemble us? Does he use our language? Have you touched him?

Kayla, be quiet!

Elise whispered to her, looking around. 'Slow it down. You never know who is listening in and observing us.

As she folded her arms across her chest, Kayla rolled her eyes. "Elise, stop overreacting. Just the two of us are present.

Yes, I am aware of it. He is tall, attractive, and a human, therefore it is true that he speaks and looks like us. Did I mention how attractive he is? So lovely, that is."

Kayla excitedly stuttered her feet and screamed. It seems so right, despite how incorrect it is. You must return to see him. In other words, we must visit him.

"Kayla, no. We don't carry out that. We don't know what those people are capable of, therefore I'm also not going out there ever again. And under no circumstances, not even Sam, tell anybody about this.

“But,”

"Kayla, no. I want you to respect it and keep it to yourself since I believe in you enough to confide in one of the riskiest and darkest secrets.

Kayla pursed her lips and nodded.

She gave her a side hug and they began walking towards home. "You'll be the one to break it to Sam, whenever I'm ready to tell him, I swear."

Sam would freak out if he learned that she had ventured into the woods, met a real person, and that they had even spoken. He may not inform the Alpha, but he would chastise her and watch out for her if she tried to retreat into the woods.

She would.

She was scared, but she was going to go back out there to collect her notebook again, and she may have even wanted to see him again.
