CHAPTER 3

CHAPTER THREE

Ericson couldn't leave Nancy's side after the whole incident. At that point, he was more scared of losing Nancy than he was Avy. He didn't think his discussion with his wife would affect Nancy so much. His wolf has been blaming him for everything. He couldn't reject Nancy and he would not have a second thought about it. His decision was final.

"Avy would have to understand that." He said to himself.

Avyanna could not leave her office after the stunt Nancy pulled in front of her husband. "Damn! she is really an actress." She muttered silently to herself. She needed a new course of action before everything would happen like it did in the future. This particular event was new to her because Nancy never pulled a stunt like that in the past. Her husband told her boldly that he couldn't reject her. Avy's heart was broken. Her husband's heart was slowly turning away from her and she could feel that. She would not have been surprised if she ended up losing him again but one thing she was very certain of was that Nancy would never take everything away from her like she did in the past.

Nancy laid on Eric's bed gripping his hands firmly as the doctors attended to her. Eric sat beside her, patiently waiting for the doctor's result. His wolf was at peace as long as Nancy was okay.

"Luna Avyanna is here, please don't let her hurt me." Nancy begged as she peeked Avy walking into the room where she lay.

Avy kept wondering why all eyes were on her when she entered her husband's room. Beside Eric stood his Beta, Will, and his sister Vanessa.

Vanessa was Avy's close friend right from when Ericson started dating Avy. Sometimes when Eric had spent too much time with Avy, Vanessa would insist that Avy follow her to an all girl's party. They would go shopping together, visit nice places and have fun together. Avy didn't have any siblings, but she saw Vanessa as a sister and best friend, not only as her husband's sister.

In Avy's past life, Vanessa betrayed her after everything they had shared with each other. Avy felt so much hurt and anger as she stared at Vanessa. It took so much from Avy to not lash out at Vanessa.

Avy expected the betrayal at first, but didn't expect so much hate from her later on.

Will, Eric's Beta stood behind him. As Eric's right hand man, Avy had thought that he would betray her as well but he gave up his position as the Beta to save Avy's life. Avyanna wondered in the past what effect she had on him or what he saw in her that made him stand by her.

"Why is everyone staring at me?" Avyanna asked as she walked towards the bed where Nancy was lay down. It was only her that had the right to lay on that bed beside her husband. She came to the room, not because she wanted to see Nancy or her husband but she didn't want to make it look like she had lost entirely niether did she want to give Nancy the belief that she had won over her husband.

It would be too soon to let all that happen so fast.

"Avy I told you this will affect my wolf, Nancy is hurt so badly." Eric complained when he saw his wife.

"Are you seriously blaming me for this?" Avy was annoyed at her husband's accusations.

"You were pushing me so much to reject her." Eric stared caringly at Nancy.

"So it is all my fault that she collapsed in your front. Eric are you too blind to see that your so call mate is pretending?" Avy's anger got the best of her.

"Avyanna that's not a proper thing to say." Vanessa protested.

"All of you are too blind to see the game she is playing, not until she is done deceiving everyone in this pack to empathize with her."

"I hate to say this but Avyanna I think you're just jealous of your husband's mate and I totally get it but at least let his Omega heal first before having this discussion." Vanessa said.

Nobody understood Avyanna. It was her second life and she was trying to prevent the damages that happened before but they would think she had gone crazy if she told them what had taken place in her past life.

It wasn't that time yet.

Avyanna eyed the Omega who started sobbing under Ericson's arms.

"Avy, you're pissed off and not in the best mood for a proper conversation right now. I want you to leave my room. We will talk later when you've relaxed." Eric said.

"You're ordering your wife to leave your room?" Avy wanted to be sure she heard those words properly.

"You're hurting her with your words and my wolf is getting hurt too." Ericson raged.

Avy was tired of that particular excuse.

"Fuck your wolf! It's always your wolf. Do you even care about how my own wolf is faring?" With that, Avy remembered that she had not spoken to her wolf yet in her second life. Avy was almost teary, she turned around and stomped away, almost to leave the room.

"Avy wait," Ericson said, he got up and went to meet her. He couldn't deny that he still loved his wife, "I don't mean for you to leave, I still need your presence. I really do."

Just as he was about to move closer to Avyanna, Nancy grabbed his cloth, holding him back from moving any further, "Eric? I'm feeling really sick and I am sorry I am causing a drift between your wife and you. I can leave if that will help." Nancy groaned wearily as she held him back.

"Yes. Maybe she should leave." Avy spoke. She nursed a great pain in her soul but she dared not show it in front of Ericson and Nancy; her past life had taught her a lot of lessons and keeping her emotions in check was one of them.

Ericson, on the other hand, still cared so much for Avyanna. He couldn't stand the feeling of letting her go, even though every fiber of his being was urging him to nurse Nancy, his mate.

"No. Nancy stay. Please Avy come stay with me." Ericson shrugged away from her grip and moved closer to Avy.

"Maybe you should focus on your new found love and let me be." Avy stormed off. To Ericson, his wife was acting weird throughout the day and he couldn't figure out what was going on in her head.

Tears rolled down Avyanna's eyes as she stormed out of the room. She felt her husband had belittled her in front of his Beta, Will and his sister Vanessa.

Vanessa placed her hands on her brother's shoulder urging him not to get chessed off by Avy's choice to words. "I know Luna Avyanna, just give her time, everything will work out."

She didn't know why she said those words but she hoped so because she didn't want the strongest couple in the pack to contend with each other especially now the wolf hunters were attacking them. They had to fight as one since both Avyanna's pack and Ericson's pack were joint together.

Avy couldn't breathe. Everywhere felt claustrophobic for her. Nobody was on her side, she didn't have anyone to share her fears and secrets with.

She cried in her room silently because nobody understood her pain. Her husband was the only one she had and she was gradually losing him.

(Knock on the door)*

"Who is there?" Avy straightened up, she couldn't let any member of her pack see her cry. She was supposed to be their Queen and not the other way round.

"It's Will, can I come in?"

Avy wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone but she had to hear him out. She hoped her husband had a message for her and he regretted what he had said to her earlier.

"Come in."

"I am here to check up on you Luna Avyanna."

"What do you want?" Avy tried to control her emotions because Will had been loyal to her in the past.

"I just want to make sure you are okay." Will snuck into the room and closed the door behind him.

"Is it my husband that sent you?" Avy asked.

"No of course not. You are the female head of our pack and I am Alpha Ericson's Beta, it is my duty to ensure that there are no conflicts between the two of you."

"Why is it me you chovse to have this discussion with? It's your Alpha you should talk to so he would come to his right senses. Everyone thinks I'm crazy but that Omega isn't what you think she is."

"Things may be complicated between you and your husband but I advice you not to jump into conclusions my Luna, it could endanger all our lives."

Avy gave up trying to explain herself. Will had a point, nobody knew Avyanna had a second chance to live her life again.

Instead of speaking, she would start acting towards making her second life better than the previous one.

"I need some space. I want to be alone." Avyanna needed to start her next course of action.

"Fine I will let you be. Just know that you can confide in me anytime you want and your secrets will be safe with me." Will bowed his head and left Avyanna lost in her train of thoughts.

There was only one place she could spill her secrets without fear. The only place no one would think she is crazy.

Avy stepped out to head to her destination. She walked a few steps and took two bends before she saw Eric, and a lady beside him. She saw the cunning Omega's face cuddled behind his shoulder.

Avy knew that Nancy enjoyed seeing her pained and she didn't want to give her that satisfaction again. Avy tried her best and tried not to rip Nancy apart. She could not give Nancy the satisfaction that she won. Avy said, "I hope both of you are enjoying yourselves."

"I am really sorry my Luna." Nancy walked away from Ericson and genuflected before Avy, "I don't mean to cause a drift between your husband and you."

Avy threw her hair backwards as she walked out of the pack house with her head held high. If she stayed any second longer, she might have ripped Nancy's head off.
