My grip tightens on the hilt, but my breath is shaky when I reply.

He leans closer, barely noticing the small drop of blood that slides down his neck from where my blade digs into his skin.

"I'm in love with someone else, and my wolf is loyal to him. It hides from you," I force the words out, and the lie tastes bitter on my lips.
