Chapter 5 Bellona Be his wife?

You faint in the arms of a prince and he takes you to his room then puts you down on the bed and … Smiling at you devilishly he starts taking off your clothes?

Dressing up in a beautiful white gown, Bellona found herself lying on a couch. Around her, she could see nobody. But it was not the same room she was in earlier when she woke up.

Bellona remembered she was wearing a different dress before she collapsed. Glancing at the dress, she pulled it a little high and mumbled, "This gown might be very expensive. Why am I wearing this? What is happening here?"

Getting up from the sofa, she quickly ran towards the door. Weirdly, the door was not locked or closed from outside. She let out a sigh of relief and quickly walked out of the room.

Though she didn't know how to find the exit, she at least wanted to try it out.

From the second floor, she couldn’t even see a single person downstairs, suddenly she felt someone standing behind her. Getting scared she took a deep sigh and patted her chest. The figure from her behind was silent just like her. It was giving her more of a bad feeling.

Bellona touched her chest then without turning around she thought of running. But then somebody grabbed her hand from behind.

This time, she knew that she got caught and that she was probably in some sort of danger.

"I told you not to run, Miss." That somehow familiar male voice from behind announced so in a cold tone and in exchange, she swiveled around and smiled hesitantly while keeping her head down, “I was not running, I was just …”.

“Then were you jogging?”

Bellona heard the man ask her so. Though she was not looking at him but she could see his long legs, she assumed he was a tall man.

“Till how long will you keep looking at my legs? Miss.” The man asked her while still holding her hand.

Letting out a sigh of frustration, she lifted her head up and glared into the pair of gorgeous hazel blue eyes of the man. Some strand of his jet-black hair fell on his cheeks when he wore an infectious smile. With a sharp jawline, romanesque nose and being not so overly muscular he could compete with those supermodels out there.

Never in her life, Bellona liked men with beards but this man was an exception. She glared at his designer stubble. With a wide open mouth she murmured, “So handsome.” Bellona couldn’t stop looking at him.

Was she dreaming? Having an illusion?

None of them talked, both were glaring at each other but she was still amazed by his handsomeness. Seeing her silent, the man snapped his fingers before her eyes. Bellona smiled hesitantly and asserted, “This place … Where am I?”

“In my mansion.”

As he answered her, she was stunned. “Your mansion?”

With a nod the man shoved his head slightly, “Yes, two days after your accident, I took you here. I think you can’t remember anything.”

“Accident … I know I can remember that much. But after that I don’t seem to …” Bellona started scraping her hair.

“You were in a coma. Might be that’s why …” Hearing him Bellona glared at him all confused and shocked. “Coma … you mean after the accident I was in coma?”

“Yeah.”

“Can you … can you tell me how many days have passed since the night of the accident?” As Bellona asked him that, he answered her with a nod. “Sure, it’s been more than twenty two months since … Two years I guess...”

“Two years?” Bellona unconsciously stepped backwards as she heard him. Two years, she had been away from her house for more than a year.

Bellona kept walking backwards in disbelief. Seeing her taking back steps the man suddenly held her hands when she was about to fall down the staircase. “What’s wrong? Are you ok?”

He saw tears in her eyes, she was crying. There never was a day when he cared about any girl’s crying. Even for Bellona, he could skip if he wanted but … !!

Was it because she stayed at his place these two years or was it because sometimes he took care of her?

Handing her a handkerchief, he was about to say something when a man walked to him. Seeing the man, he grabbed Bellona’s hand and then said, “Take this. I will be back in two minutes.”

With that he walked away. Bellona was too sad to see where he was going. She was not concerned about anything now but she couldn’t stop being sad thinking about her father. She remembered that the day when her accident occurred, she found out that her dad died and her mom and sister kicked her out of the house. Not only that but Preston, how she got bullied everyday by him … everything was getting back to her memories.

‘No, I want to go back … Dad …’ Covering her mouth with both her hands Bellona got up and then glared at the handkerchief in her hand. Wiping off her tears Bellona looked at her left and right.

She didn’t know which city she was at the moment. The man didn’t tell her anything either. Taking a look around, Bellona started running.

There the man was looking at his wristwatch when one of his bodyguards was reporting something to him. “Mr. Mathew is trying to set blind dates for you. He said if … If …”

“If what?”

“He said if you don’t go then he will set your wedding with the daughter of Mr. Huttan.” His bodyguard reported.

“Who is he to set my wedding?” The man said so furiously. Mr. Mathew, his father had been trying to marry him off for the last two years and he tried pushing it off somehow but these past days, Mr. Mathew had been getting on his nerves.

Why does nobody try to understand that he doesn’t want to settle down now …

Taking a sigh of annoyance, the man turned around, “Fine. Tell him that I already have someone I like.”

“Eh?” The bodyguard might have been hearing things. He could not believe his own ears.

“Should I say that again?” Seeing the man’s cold and annoyed gaze towards him, the bodyguard bowed his head before him and announced, “I have understood what you said. I will do the according, Mr. Barlowe.”

And with that the man strolled away in no time. He let out a sigh and looked at the rooftop. It had been frustrating. Everything was going smoothly until that accident happened …

He had no idea why Mr. Mathew swore to God to make him marry the daughter of Mr. Huttan.

Though without thinking of anything, just to get away from the unwanted pressure that Mr. Mathew was giving him, he said that but now to think of it, he didn’t really think of how to come up with a solution. He was trying to calm down when suddenly he remembered that he told Bellona that he would be there soon.

He was about to go in the direction he knew she would be but when he was about to take a turn, he saw her running. She was running like a mad dog. Strange!

Without thinking for even a second, he started following her.

“Cab … . I don’t even have any money with me. Shit!” Bellona looked so helpless, she badly wanted to go back to her city but without money how would she go anywhere. Sitting on the road Bellona hugged herself tight, tears welling up to her eyes.

No money, she didn’t even know which city she was in currently, she was so pathetic.

When she was crying, it started raining all of a sudden. Drop of rain started bathing her. Bellona could see cars moving on in the rain, the city looked remorseful in her eyes. She was glancing at the sky when gradually she got up and started strolling, she was not aware of where she was going.

Suddenly someone yanked her hand and pulled her closer. Bellona could feel one’s heartbeat. “You have a tendency of killing yourself, but every time, I might not be there to save you, Miss.” She heard that familiar voice again.

Lifting her head Bellona glared at the familiar man. Drop of water was dropping down to his jet-black hair, and he had a cheerful smile playing in the corner of her lips. Suddenly observing how close she was to him, Bellona nudged him away.

She was standing silent when the man was looking at her. She seemed sad, lost and helpless, not even a word was coming out of her throat. To cut the silence, the man asserted, “I can understand you are sad because your father has died but giving up on your life is not what your father probably wants.”

“How did you …” Bellona was surprised to see him knowing so much. Were they not strangers?

To her question the man smiled at her and asserted, “That’s not important. I have saved you once, I don’t want you to kill yourself Miss. Now, what is important is that you should understand this is life and we are supposed to go through difficulties. Losing your father might have hurt you but your life doesn’t stop there.”

“Thanks for saving me, but I don’t really want to listen to those words now … I have lost my dad, the only family I had. Now, I have nobody anymore. Do you know this feeling? Losing someone only you love … You know how it hurts …” Tears were welling up to her eyes. Bellona grinned while coating her mouth with both hands.

“My dad is gone … I can never see him again, I can never hug him again … He is no more … I don't have a home, I have Lost my family, I don't have a job, I don't even know where this place is. Two years of my life went in vain, I was in a coma. What will I do now? Why should I stay alive? For what?"

Losing someone close, even the only person he loved … He knew that feeling. He knew how much it can hurt one. Seeing Bellona crying he could remember the blackest days of his life.

It surely hurts but nobody is permanent in this world. One should accept this truth, he once went through all those pain and sufferings but now, he learnt to live his life. Seeing her continuously crying, he felt kinda nasty.

Suddenly holding her hand he pulled her close and then looking at her he pronounced in a cold tone. “Can you stop crying? Stop being like your world has stopped at one place.”

Bellona on the other hand kept glaring at him. “Now listen to what I am going to say. I know what you need right now, I will provide you with all you need.”

“Why would you do that?... You said that you have saved me so I am already indebted to you. Now if you help me again …”

“I am not helping you. You haven’t listened to me yet.” The man asserted and then he added more, “You will get what you want but in exchange you have to marry me.”

Hearing him, Bellona glared at him and she was surprised, “Do you know what you are saying?”

“I do.”

Both of their eyes fixed at each other, Bellona didn’t know what to tell him. To cut the awkwardness she moved away and spit out, “Please don’t joke with me.” With that she turned around but suddenly the man said something that made her stop walking, “I am serious, I want to marry you.”
